i'd love to know if Mandela actually said this or it's the script writer because if he actually said this it's better than "friends Romans country men ,lend me your ears" and one of the greatest speeches uttered by a man or woman in my view
It's interesting to think that the future of a united South Africa rested in rugby and that if the springbok had been cut it could have led to a chain of events that could have resulted in an Afrikaner breakaway country or even a civil war.
This encapsulates how to deal with the spirits of anger and revenge. Not stoking the flames for further degradation and destruction. But an egocentric appeal to the humanity within and it's need for healing and growth.

Springbok colours is the name given to green and gold blazers awarded to members of the South Africa national rugby union team. They were historically awarded to teams and individuals representing South Africa in international competition of any sport. After the 94 election when the ANC 1st took power they claimed it to be a symbol of the previous government and took it away from everyone with the acception of the SA Rugby as an act of conciliation towards the white minority of South Africa. This attitude still continues against afrikaans despite being the most published individous language in Africa its constantly under attack despite majority speakers being mixed race rather than white.
The more important part was cut on Mandela explaining why he did that speech.. If the springboks was cut it would have led to a collapse of the economy of South africa at that time. As most of the economic sectors was ruled by the Afrikaners, army of South Africa at that time were controlled by afrikaners, police of south africa in years immediately after apartheid ended was largely administered by afrikaners and nearly support the springboks.
Efficient people that are potentially a person is wrong for the actions which has caused by mankind itself than that is a different perspective of it all for example mankind are responsible for the actions what other people has made because they generally do not know how to control the person
