Know this I video from 2 yrs ago, I am just now seeing this. Thank you for sharing!! I am done throwing away empty plastic bottles! This is my weekend project! Love your voice! Always makes me homesick when I hear that accent! I am from Bluefield WV and spent free time with my grandparents in Erwin, TN. I have lived in MD since married 41 years but still miss home and the people! Thank you!!
Welcome, and thank you for your kind comments! We use this as handsoap and bodywash all the time! My friends do too, glad you are going to use it for yourself!
😂 I love it…why do we make our own body wash Ellie? ….because you really need to wash your body! I’m crying😅 out of the mouths of babes, kids are precious.
Thank you so much! I find that soap bars become hard to use when they are almost over so I've been meaning to turn my soaps liquid. I'll do this as soon as possible. ❤
Best to pour it into the bottles while they are sitting in the kitchen sink incase you spill some then you can just wash something. Also putting a cap on your bottle incase the finished one gets knocked over accidently.
That would be a temporary solution. For thicker soap it is suggested to add saline solution or salt water. About 1/4 cup to one quart of water, would be a starting point , add after the soap has slightly cooled. Just mix it in gently. I hope this helps! Thank you for your view and comment! Also, add less water.
❤❤❤ Amazing, well done beautiful friend ❤❤❤❤❤I really appreciate you sharing your idea with us, I just want to say,I love how you and your beautiful girl made that soap, nice one, and good job 👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@muchadoaboutsomething Thanks... asked because baking soda is alkaline which may not be good for the skin, but a small amount should be okay and its benefits will outweigh any negative effect.
you can use any bar soap that is made for skin, I wouldn't suggest a laundry detergent bar (for example Felts Naptha) unless you were wanting to make a liquid laundry detergent from it, Any skin soap bar for bathing will work. Hope it turns out great and you love it!
Baking soda is great for skin. It is a natural exfoliant, teeth whitener, skin soother , complexion improved, scalp clarifier, and odor blocker! It has so many benefits!
It is a levening agent and helps to keep the soap from Separating. It also adds a gentle exfoliating to the soap to add a little extra cleaning. Thank you for your comment!
It becomes too thick sometimes depending on the soap used. Heat up a portion of the too thick soap and mix in more water, add it to the rest of your soap and add additional water to the consistency that you want it. Hope this helps.
Right, that is an alternative. This is a money saver. It is suggested as to use what you have on hand. Bar Soap, in general, has more soap and Bodywash has alot of water.
I use my grater that I also use for food. I do it because once I am done all I have to do is wash the soap of really well. It is just soap after all.
That is an excellent point!

Awesome. I'm doing this tomorrow with Ivory soap and peppermint extract. I LOVE the name btw.
Thank you, that's an awesome idea to make your own gentle peppermint soap.
We have fun making this. We also like to use it.

Good ideas! Thank you!
If you want thicker soap can you just whip it up with a beater so it turns creamy?

@@muchadoaboutsomethingMy became too thick i don't know what to do please help me
Just add more water and mix well.
What can i add instead of glycine?
You do not have to add anything except the water. Baking soda can help the cleaning power if you want to add that.
The glycerin helps the lather, but it'll still clean your body just adding the water.
It does!
🎉which glycerin is that? Is it Vegetable glycerin?
Yes, vegetable!
Thank you
That’s really quick n easy but what’s a self life
It is the time the soap can sit on your shelf without going bad. (Smell bad, turn dark colors, mold, etc.)
Thank you
I want to do this for sure. What role does the baking soda play and will eliminating it diminish the quality of the body wash?
I add the baking soda because I think the bodywash suds better, you can leave it out.
It is a leavening agent that helps hold it together, also adds cleaning power, you can leave it out.
@@muchadoaboutsomething Thanks... asked because baking soda is alkaline which may not be good for the skin, but a small amount should be okay and its benefits will outweigh any negative effect.
I think you are right, in just small amounts. It still cleans good without it, just may have to shake it up more often.
Baking soda adds deodorizer properties, helps cleaning body oils away.
Elite is so cute
Thank you!
May i ask how much does a bar of your soap weights? Would really love to try your recipe
The bar of soap we used is 113 grams , (4ounces) thank you for watching and commenting.
A Little One with a grater?😮
She helps me cook all the time! This would be normal for her!
Is there a certain kind of bar soap to use?
you can use any bar soap that is made for skin, I wouldn't suggest a laundry detergent bar (for example Felts Naptha) unless you were wanting to make a liquid laundry detergent from it, Any skin soap bar for bathing will work. Hope it turns out great and you love it!
Didn't this liquid soap get slimy as time goes by? I really wanna try if it stays thin.
That would depend on the bar soap that was used.
Why baking soda
Baking soda is great for skin. It is a natural exfoliant, teeth whitener, skin soother , complexion improved, scalp clarifier, and odor blocker! It has so many benefits!
Hi what does the baking soda help do?

Why the baking soda?
Baking soda deodorizer, exfoliates gently and also removes excess oils from the skin. You can always choose to leave it out.
Deodorizer
Don't I need preservative coz I wanna make it commercial
Soap usually lasts a long time. The baking soda added acts as a preservative.
@@muchadoaboutsomething thanx dear
You are so welcome!
I need recipe and please tell me what exactly you ad in it and how much water how much soap and everything I should ad??
One bar of soap, heated and completely melted into enough water to cover. You can add more water to get it as thin as you want it.
Thanks for the video :-)
So glad that you liked it.
Or just by body wash
