New 2024 Kia EV5 Flagship Electric Compact SUV

Kia presented its all-electric compact SUV, the Kia EV5, at the Chengdu Motor Show in China. The Kia EV5 brings a new era of electric mobility to the compact SUV sector to meet the needs of millennial families.
In terms of size, EV5 is 1,875mm wide, 4,615mm long, 1,715mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,750mm and a kerbweight of 1,870kg.
The Kia EV5 production model is based on the South Korean automaker's "Opposites United" design concept, which embraces the creative tension created when opposing visual elements of nature and modernity are combined. The stance and silhouette of EV5 have been significantly influenced by the "Bold for Nature" part of the design concept.
The new EV5 has a unique bold stance and geometrical design, it features strong bodylines all around. At the front, the EV5 gets a modern interpretation of the Digital Tiger Face design, which is complemented by three-dimensional signature Star Map lighting formed by the DRLs, that exhibits a constellation-inspired light pattern.
The EV5 has strong fenders and broad shoulder lines that complement its muscular look. The pushed-back D-pillars enhance the EV5's in-cabin space making it more practical and family-friendly.
The rear-end design features an extended spoiler that enhances the sporty look as well as the aerodynamics of the SUV. The distinctive tailgate design and taillamps provide a clean yet attractive rear design, while the lower skid plate gives a rugged look. Kia didn't reveal the wheel size of the production form but the EV5 concept car featured 21-inch alloy wheels.
The electric Kia EV5 will be available in nine glossy and one matte colour options.
Kia says the EV5 will offer more interior space than any traditional mid-size SUV, while the infotainment and overall cabin look again appears to take inspiration from the EV9, with a choice of various trim colours and materials.
Variable mood lighting is offered across the front section of the dash as well as the front and rear door trims, with a total of 64 colour options. The lighting system is also able to synchronise with the EV5’s drive modes, by dimming in low light conditions, and alerting the driver if the speed limit is exceeded.
Under the hood, the upcoming Kia EV5 is likely to be offered with an 82kWh battery pack, which will generate a max power of around 215 bhp and 310Nm of peak torque. As far as the range is concerned, the electric SUV is expected to provide a claimed range of around 600km. However, the Kia has not revealed or shared any related details about the same as yet.
More details about the global Kia EV5 crossover are expected to be revealed in October. Meanwhile, orders are already being taken in China, with preliminary prices ranging from $22,000 to $31,500.

@1:36. When talking about an object the size of a car, why on earth would it be measured in thousands of millimeters? Metric is fine, but how about just meters, carried out to 3 decimal places? For example, say "one point 875 meters wide" and "four point 615 meters long", instead of "one thousand eight hundred and seventy five millimeters wide", "four thousand six hundred and fifteen millimeters long", etc.
