What are your thoughts on this tool so far. I am still trying to make the decision if I should give this a shot. I work on a little bit of everything. Also wondering if this would have the ability to reset ABS modules and write VIN#

I didn't get a chance to use it to write vin but function wise it is ok for bi direction control live data just doesn't have the fancy function for say for example using the tool to aim the safety system if you have changed the radar or the camera on the windshield. But there is a difference in using the tool at home compared to using it for in the field/dealership it might be more than enough for a diyer but using it at work everyday I still find myself switching back to a factory scanner for certain things. I'm planning to review more scanners autel, topdon and xtool. Just need the money for them.

Price looks right.. you’ll have to update in the future as far as continued use and functionality. I may be needing a personal handheld in the near future

Hey @theoffroadingmechanic , quick question for you if you feel generous to chip in your answer to this question: I have a 9th gen Civic that is starting to have a massive brake pulsation, but it doesn't pull to either side. Rotor was replaced in 2020 and it was starting to do this from 2023. Do you know if there is a common issue with these? Interested to have you look at it if possible!!! (Viewer based in Van/Burnaby)
Tempted to get this scanner now since it works so well with Hondas ahaha

Did you replace rotors with aftermarket ones? Never had issues with OEM ones even after machining them to minimum spec. But with the aftermarket stuff are just terrible sometimes my friend got a set of rotors recently for his f150 and after a few weeks he was getting a shake in the steering wheel when braking. Luckily lordco warranty them and fixed his issue. I've had aftermarket ones warped right out of the box after taking it for a test drive. I put it on our lathe and it was out ended machining them, put it back on the car and the pulsation/shaking went away. Also if you have rust build up on the hub and who ever didn't clean it and applied a film to prevent the hub from rusting can cause your "warped rotors" due to rust not letting the rotor sit flush against the hub or start building up.

@@theoffroadingmechanic Interesting. My brake rotors are in fact aftermarket but I took all the necessary steps to avoid issues such as: scraping off rust on the hub, adding a layer of anti-seize and proper bed in procedures. I guess these don't negate quality issues with aftermarket.
I'll slap on an OEM one :)))

wonder if this scanner does misfire counts?

It really depends on the vehicle and if it supports that information for the scan tool. Like on the older Honda's information for live data are limited but on newer vehicles that are more advanced the list of live data is a lot more. You can always go into mode 6 in generic obd for misfire information on the older vehicles.
