The typical diy only works on a few different brand of cars. I highly recommend taking a look at the Mucar CDE900 Pro. The tool is less than $100 and the full "oem level" add on per maker is only $59.95 w/liofetime updates. The add on gets you full bidirectional control as well as any "service" function that they support for that brand. If you only own 2 or 3 types of cars, its worth its weight in gold.
Sounds great!
Nice review. I have a topdon phoenix plus w/ topology. It's real powerful. The K7 looks to be a great deal since it has bi directional controls/ 3 years free updates.
A friend of mine loves his Topdon. They’re both pretty good tools, I think.
My current scanner is an Innova 5610. It's served me well enough as the newest vehicle in the fleet is a 2004. I would like something with a larger screen and more capability. Topology is a nice feature to have but not a necessity. It's hard to make a decision with so many scanners on the market.
There must be more scanners than car models, for sure.
Does the think pad II have the program for Subaru 2019 outback limited?
Thanks Tim
I don’t have a ThinkPad II, but I checked on the ThinkDiag 2. It has the ability to communicate with 13 modules on your car, including bi-directional control; and pages and pages of special functions.
Do you know if this will work on a 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD to see live data associated with the turbocharger? And also work on a 2023 Lexus UX250H? Thanks so much for the great review
I can see that it shows live data for that ECM on your Chevy Silverado, but it doesn’t show me which specific data pids are included. As far as the Lexus goes, there are tons of modules and active tests and special functions that it can do.
I don't even need one as I have an Autel, but I just ordered one with your code and it had an $80 off coupon. Only cost $330...lol.
That’s a smokin’ deal!
I find it frustrating that so many revuews are state side when im in the UK and the stuff that is covered rarely covers european cars of which we have thousands, renuault never seems to civered for a nox sensor reset
More reasons why some of us turn away customers with euros. American and Japanese only.
@pablo123b I can only imagine how frustrating that is. It’s easy to forget how blessed Americans are in that so many products and content are aimed at our market.
It’s only half the price of the other one in Canada
Oh, weird.
@@ToolDemos prices are crazy up here and for the price I like the topography style of scanner.

Well, goldilocks would certainly be proud!
Gotta keep her happy 😁
Both tools made by same company
should be 20.00 and connect to the phone as envisioned in 1996 obd2
Can’t say that wouldn’t be awesome.
There is no perfect car, no perfect car scanner, nobody but a salesman will tell you that he has a perfect pet rock, the perfect size, the perfect shape with free shipping with 35 percent off. Now, how many commercials have you heard a similar pitch with a percentage off but never tell you what the price is so you have no clue if the percentage relates to anything. If I gave you 35 percent off of a light bulb with a retail price of 199 dollars, would you buy it ? Suffice to say, the percentage is meaningless but yet they continue promoting it.
