Thank you Helped solve my washers issue. Got the code for drain pump issue F9E1 and ran test with back off machine. Arching from wire harness so stripped the elec tape off to find 99% broken wire with burnt insulation. Repaired break and reset machine per instructions in this video. One thing to add, the machine was all ready to go but would not start. I unplugged for 5 min and then it operated fine afterward. Just a note that my machine turned out to have an extended warranty from membership box store so we called in Maytag repair (haha) man. Besides offering nothing for feedback, he advised on further questioning he needed a part (wire harness and drain pump) and was unable to give any time estimate. Meanwhile cloths piling up. Saved me the trouble of driving 80miles with my washer to get it looked at just to find out my drain line was too low and siphoning water causing a fault. I had a old washer before that I salvaged from 3 broken ones. When it went out I decided to buy a brand new one for the first time and had problems right away and a few weeks of trying to figure out the issue this video is what helped me finally fix it. Keep it up much appreciated.
I was having issues with my washer, so I ended up finding this video. I couldn’t figure out exactly what was wrong with it, but I was able to do a factory reset, check for the error codes (it ended up giving me this weird code where the four lights all flashed two times, but the lid lock was never on), and unplugged it for a bit, and now it works. Couldn’t figure out what the issue was, but the video still helped me fix it regardless. Thank you so much~
This video saved me so much headache!! I have a warranty, but didn’t want to have to file a claim, wait for service and parts and worst of all having to lug laundry to the laundromat. This video helped me find the problem and fix it easy. Thank you so much for sharing this information!!! 😊😊😊😊

Thank you for this video. I FIXED MINE !! The wife and mother in law thought it was a problem with the latch, So they ordered one . Then I finally had some time to look at it and found the codes which lead me to check the drain pump and sure enough the wires to the pump had been chewed through by a mouse , so spliced the wires back together , cleared the codes. Had to do the reset on the machine and Wala it's fixed! P.s. I couldn't find the tech manual so this video was a huge help 😊😊

Amazing how our 40 year old washer has only needed $5 of parts for new cams and will very likely outlast these washers by another 40 years. Plastic clockwork. It's not that complicated.
I'd keep it. I just checked for common parts for my new 31 year Speed Queen I brought home and have many sellers if needed. I'll probably get a belt and other spares to have on hand.
Our washer’s agitator barely spins and during wash it keeps sitting there, filling with water, agitator moves a little, fills with water again, then agitator barely moves. It seems as if it gets stuck in the wash cycle and doesn’t know how to wash, any suggestions?
We figured the code was f9e1 which showed the water drain, we bought it and changed it but it's still giving us the same code... Any idea what else it could be, won't drain
I have code F7E1. I haven’t tried anything with a multimeter yet, not the best at using one other than checking continuity and voltage. My washer will click the door lock, it does lock at first, then immediately unlocks and won’t do anything else. We bought it new just this spring. Any suggestions?
Same f7e1 it's either loose wires, control board, hmi harness, UI or shift actuator. I changed shift actuator no luck so now tech guide says control board. Waiting on part hopefully it fixes it. I'm on day 3 no washing machine. Good luck on yours.
@@chelsiestinson9494 oh boy, have I got one for you. We bought the washer new less than six months ago, so it still is under the one year manufacturer warranty. We decided to have a technician look at it and go the warranty route. First appointment was a week after I discovered the problem, and no technician picked up the work order, nor did anyone from the appliance store the technician was from, or whirlpool, call and tell us no one was coming. We called and raised a little hell over it, finally got a technician to come out today. He saw in his notes that I reported it as a F7E1, he still had to inspect for warranty purposes, I get that. He informed us that they can’t bring parts with them for warranty work, that he has to inspect, then submit a claim to get the new part, and then schedule an install appointment. All of which could take 3 to four weeks. He understood our frustration and felt bad, and I get that. I know it’s not his doing, it’s the process he’s beholden to. Here we are going on three weeks of not being able to do laundry at home, and are facing another month of the same. We have been able to get by washing loads at each of our parents houses, and know that they will gladly let us keep doing so, but that is beside the point. We called whirlpool today to try to expedite the process, and was essentially told too bad so sad. I am losing more and more faith in companies by the day, it shouldn’t be this hard for someone to just do the right thing.
Ben, I broke the lid lock. Would not lock anymore. I bought a new one, put it in. Still nothing. Error code F5 E3. Same exact washer. I legit have no idea what to do! 😭
Question- Has anyone had this same issue and if so, was it an easy fix? The "done" light stays on after the cycle completes; I lift the top door, close it and the light stays on. This was not happening before. The "done" light should go off as soon as you open the door. Any ides or suggestion how to fix this?
I have the exact machine in the video. It's less than 2 months old. Under warranty. I'm cautious about doing any tests even though I can read the long drain fault. Probably best wait till service tech?
Apparently I have an F9E1 error after hastily throwing clothes in with probably too much detergent. We'll see. Also never ran a cleaning cycle. Update if I can fix it.
I've had the technicians come out for this washer (May Tag Pet Pro) about 3 times already. It's been under warranty but breaks about every other month. I've gotten to the point where I need to fix it myself I guess. Its a shame, May Tag used to be such a good brand. I'm only buying the wife cheap washers from now on.
Ok I have a Maytag front load giving me trouble error code F 05, which tech sheet says heating element/sensor error. I replaced element, heat sensor and the CCU. Still getting same F05 error code in the diagnostic test. Any ideas?
I think I am missing lots in this video. If I want to go to diagnosis code, I press 123, 123, 123, then wait 8 seconds then.....I am lost. What am I looking for? What does it look like? What is it going to do? How long will this take, do I start over before going into the UI mode or is that the next step after 8 seconds? I am so confused
@fixedalarm5012 I had to order a component to fix it. Give me a minute and I will go look it up for you. Edit: I replaced the agitator motor and solenoid switch. Then I did a factory reset from "Whirlpool Touch Screen Washer Diagnostic Mode, Error Codes, Calibration, and Troubleshooting"
Does the water go over your clothes? The water doesn’t go above my clothes no matter what cycle I put it on. How are my clothes washing without getting wet?
Just got the washer techs ran the test stopped running water did not drain now I have lights sense, done and lid lock light on what does that mean is that fixable
I ended up having to get a new washer even though the codes showed that it was the drain pump which they did replace and still had the same issue. Additionally the machine was doing the wobble on the spin cycle and the suspension was shot! Mind you I had not even washed 10 loads in this thing. Stay far, far away.
I just got this washer delivered today and I did a second load and it got stuck in cycle with water still in drum with clothes. Like it wouldn’t rinse. We manually drained water. It has happened twice
Thank you for this info. I have this exact unit and it will not run a cycle. It says error code F7E1. Ben, are you familiar with a fix for this code? I have tried everything I can do to try and reset the unit. But nothing will make this unit work.
@@bensappliancesandjunk I replaced the shift actuator and am still getting the same error code. Any other suggestions before I call whirlpool support to stop by? Thank you.
@@richpaprocki I'd check wires for continuity/voltage going into the actuator when its running. Either a wire is damaged/frayed preventing voltage from getting to the shift motor, or the board isn't putting out proper voltage (bad board).

@@acasares311how did you get it fixed
Can you help identify my error code? My error code is similar to the one in your video except instead of the word soak flashing the word done flashes. I have a video I could send
I have the same error code, trying to figure it out
@@VanEssa-56 Same here I don't understand how to read the cheat sheet for the done light Mine will rotate once twice and a third time slowly and then says done. Then I hear it trying to drain and thats it.
The sense done & lock flash then done ?
When doing to system test, my washer didn't do anything in the wash cycle, it just didn't work. I heard 3 clicking sounds and waited but nothing happened 😕
JUST A QUICK 411...
I've experienced many of these washers with F7-E1 the part they we replaced was the Run Capacitor
Sorry to not understand that’s when it’s the right 3 lights and lock then the done light and no lock?
This alphanumeric or binary code whatever is throwing me for a loop 😭
I have a 2in 1 washer I got new parts for the washer and it still doesn't work the codes are still flashing sense ,soak wash to done with the lid liight on and then falashes done. I already ordered the control board and the lid lock please help me
Is it solved?
I hate this washer.
You don't hate washer! I love new washer!
Me too
Same. Piece of crap. Bought new last year and is broken every two to three months.
It is horrible.
Sameee😢
Binary is throwing me off. Mine shows the except my done light displays without the lock. How do I determine its number? That’s the part that throws me for a loop everytime. I get the first part is F7 but how does the cheat sheet show 4? I don’t see a single 4 in that slot
Codes Explained Simpler: Sense =8 Soak=4 Wash=2 Done=1 Example: lid lock+soak + wash=f6
Why can't I figure out this riddle
Thank you!!
You're awesome Ben. I just bought a 2020 Maytag MVW7230HC0 used. The tech sheet is missing, can you recommend a site or whatever where I could get a copy of one. This machine has an LED display. It doesn't have the six pilot lights
My whirlpool wtw5057lw0 washer is showing F7E1 code (tachometer missing or wrong signal). Can you tell me what that means?
ben, i have the green blinking light on the mother board, but no lights are lighting up on the panel when putting in diagnostic mode
Did you recalibrate it?
Question- Has anyone had this same issue and if so, was it an easy fix? The "done" light stays on after the cycle completes; I lift the top door, close it and the light stays on. This was not happening before. The "done" light should go off as soon as you open the door. Any ides or suggestion how to fix this?
I have the exact machine in the video. It's less than 2 months old. Under warranty. I'm cautious about doing any tests even though I can read the long drain fault. Probably best wait till service tech?
What service tech ?
Apparently I have an F9E1 error after hastily throwing clothes in with probably too much detergent. We'll see. Also never ran a cleaning cycle. Update if I can fix it.
Well?
When I try to self-test, all four top lights flash 3 times... any ideas?
I've had the technicians come out for this washer (May Tag Pet Pro) about 3 times already. It's been under warranty but breaks about every other month. I've gotten to the point where I need to fix it myself I guess. Its a shame, May Tag used to be such a good brand. I'm only buying the wife cheap washers from now on.
Ok I have a Maytag front load giving me trouble error code F 05, which tech sheet says heating element/sensor error. I replaced element, heat sensor and the CCU. Still getting same F05 error code in the diagnostic test.
Any ideas?
Is there a download able file for that tech sheet? I just opened mine up and a freaking mouse chewed it into a million pieces.
Mine says Temp Soil Level Spin Speed and Deep Fill.
Not the buttons you show and mine is a Maytag MVWB765FW3
What now? THANKS? Ed from CA
What size hammer is that you're using?
HTF do you fix the F8E6 issue?
Does anyone know how to turn on the chime for when the cycle is finished?
Help please, I have error codes f7 e3 and f7 e4, can't seem to shake them no matter what I do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Pretty sure it’s a shift connector replacement I need. Any idea where that is - up where the manual was or behind the larger panel?
Did you ever find it? I had a F7E1 error as well.
Just bought 24 hours ago. My agitator won’t work
@@dclong-what was your fix
@@normahardesty3244how did you get it fixed?
I have the same issue my washer isn’t draining either! Lights sense and done and lid is coming on
What if sense done and lid flash
Same here
I ended up having to get a new washer even though the codes showed that it was the drain pump which they did replace and still had the same issue. Additionally the machine was doing the wobble on the spin cycle and the suspension was shot! Mind you I had not even washed 10 loads in this thing. Stay far, far away.
My washer is doing same error as the one. How do I fix it?
I just got this washer delivered today and I did a second load and it got stuck in cycle with water still in drum with clothes. Like it wouldn’t rinse. We manually drained water. It has happened twice
Wash light off and done light on what does that mean please help.
Thank you for this info. I have this exact unit and it will not run a cycle. It says error code F7E1. Ben, are you familiar with a fix for this code? I have tried everything I can do to try and reset the unit. But nothing will make this unit work.
Usually F7E1 is a shift actuator
@@bensappliancesandjunk I replaced the shift actuator and am still getting the same error code. Any other suggestions before I call whirlpool support to stop by? Thank you.
@@richpaprocki did you run a recalibration cycle after installation?
@@bensappliancesandjunk yes many times. Also tried unplugging it a few times as well.
@@richpaprocki I'd check wires for continuity/voltage going into the actuator when its running. Either a wire is damaged/frayed preventing voltage from getting to the shift motor, or the board isn't putting out proper voltage (bad board).
I'm getting code F9E2...that's not even a code option...help. There's water stuck in my washer
Can someone tell me what it means when the washer stops mid cycle and flashes sense and lid lock??
Nope.
