I guess directly on the clothing. I don't use softener but use lysol disinfectant and my fabric softener button does not always turn the machine off in order for me to add. I feel that this is a poorly designed machine or mine could be defective.
Yeap.! happened to me several times, wasted of lots of soap. Never have spend so much soap in my in-tired life and I have been washing cloth for quite some times. I wished I could returned this piece of worthless-equipment
The instructions say you can use the faucet to rinse out the soap cup but then the damn thing drains the faucet water and you lose all your soap. The reason I wanted the faucet was primarily so I could mix the soap and water before loading clothes. I hate all the new machines! Wish my 35-year-old Maytag had not been declared non-fixable (part no longer being made).
A relative of mine has had this washer for two months. I put it on a quick wash, and it filled the tub and stopped working. I tried everything to reset it. Didn’t work. Repair company can’t get there for over a week. I need a hack.
I am having difficulty with the buttons that include temp and others. Could you please show me how you use them. Sometimes they work beautifully and other times I can’t get them to work.
Hello I bought one today. The one where the lid is not see through. I just followed the direction and it seems to work smoothy. One thing i noticed is it moves so much 😅
Totally agree! If you're gonna offer the option of having it a deep capacity, then make it to where it has plenty of water in it! The capacity is useless if there's no water. And there's absolutely no way you can wash a comforter in here!

He mentioned about choosing the fabric softener on the control panel and the machine is programmed to stop at that cycle to let you put the fabric softener in. Watch somewhere around 4:16 in the video about that.
I also would not have bought if I'd realized there was no fabric softener dispenser. No idea how far into the wash cycle to add the fabric softener. Short of standing in the laundry room waiting and watching there is no way to know. There isn't even a ding or alarm to let you know.
the tube going to the control board will give it a fault you need to pull off tube, pull out electrical plug,then plug it back in, hold down key # 3 and you may get lucky and the machine may reset then put hose back on...

Thanks Jay. good video. We just bought this washer. One issue we are facing is after the first wash/drain, the washer just sprays water on the clothes and spins/drains and continues doing that. It does not fill the tub with water completely or even a little bit. It just sprays. We tried the quick wash and even the normal wash cycle with deep fill. Same result. Any idea what could be wrong? Or does the washer seem to be faulty? Thanks.
You put the settings you want and when the lid is closed and ready to wash you hit the start button till all the lights up to done light up then it’ll slowly start spinning little by little and will start eventually

No. Use the dryer sheets or dilute your softener with water and pause the machine to add it during the rinse filling. Dont wait until it fills all the way up because it will only agitate a few times and drain. Go with dryer sheets after your softener it used up.
@@judysmith2366 Exactly. They had room to have a rinse button so we would know, if it would light up. The wash button stays lit until the end of the cycle. I hope they fix this on newer models. No help to us at all.

We bought in September 2022. Failed March 2023, less than 6 months old. Took a month to get service tech here. Didn't have parts (DUH!) Now waiting 2 weeks for tech to return to (hopefully) fix the problem. Could be main control panel or slave panel or lid lock interlock switch. Will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product. Oh, by the way, we live on an island and the nearest laundromat is 20 miles away!

This model is the biggest piece of trash on the market. I found that out unfortunately after I purchased it. My previous whirlpool washer lasted 16 years and only had two problems in that 16 year period. This washer was purchased in August 2022 and this past September the water pump failed and it would no longer cycle. Luckily Whirlpool covered it under their warranty even though it was one month outside of the one year warranty. Now it is has the same same problem again two months after they have fixed it. It is a complete piece of trash. I can't emphasize enough to anyone not to buy this washer.
I hate this machine. Spins so hard, even on delicate cycle, everything comes out a wrinkled mess. No way you can hang dry anything without excessive wrinkles. The items you put in a dryer also comes out a wrinkled mess. Fabric softner can only be added if you come back and add it to the rinse cycle. The only positive thing I can say about this machine is that the agitator can be removed for large items.
very odd machine, it has all updated sensor and a couple of featuring but it really does not soak enough and you have to use a lots of detergent to see foaming in the load of washing.
My wife just bough this model machine and it does not wash the cloth just soak it but cloth comes dirty after an hour of wasting water and energy .we are thinking to return a faulty product.People don't buy this washer.You'll regret.
Looks like the agitator should go clockwise more often than counter-clockwise to get the clothes to rotate through the tub. If it just goes left-right equally, clothes don't move top to bottom. Looks like bad design.

THANK YOU!!!! Owned for a month and couldn’t find any where how to open the 🤬ing LID!!!! No in-depth instructions that it only opens if it’s not in spin! or whenever!!! (FYI-OWned a rolls Royce LG- and absolutely loved it, but after three years suddenly stopped. Control panel gone… No service man for 2 1/2 weeks and may need a new (motherboard at LEAST $250 )We have an Airbnb so just had to give it away for someone to scrap or may be able to fix it himself- so I don’t recommend nor do repairman recommend an LG!). This Whirlpool was available in one day, works great…!!! Very difficult to wrap my mind around pouring the soap directly into the container where I am afraid it will get onto the clothes and Stain, but no problems so far! I am happy with this because I can trust it :-). And thank you for this excellent video!
Whirlpool needs to put warm rinses back on their machines. Warm rinse gets out the detergent better and is obviously better in colder climates. What has happened to this company that they are so out of touch ?
Pat, you may already know this, but GE and Speed Queen are the only washing machine manufacturers that has a warm rinse option. That fundamentally important rinse option is notably absent on all other washing machine manufacturers nowadays.

The Speed Queen I don't know about, all I know is that the warm rinse option is only available on Speed Queen's gentle clean models (the TR series models), which is a really questionable decision within itself.
This wahser sucks real bad. Sensor doesnt realize clothes are still soakimg and says done. Rince and spin cycle does not work. Just got the bastard. But past my 30 day return. 😢
I have this machine and HATE it! Cycles take too long, not enough water to wash unless you set to deep water, in washer faucet only runs cold, can't add water before soap - if you run the faucet to dilute laundry detergent, it will drain out before your cycle begins. It's also very rough on clothes - they get stretched out or torn from the excessive spin speed. And don't even get me started on the obnoxious lid lock. Never had one before and don't need it now. This thing wastes more time and water than the 30-year-old analog model it replaced. HATE IT!!!
@@jackiemeri I called whirlpool and they sent a technician to look at it. He told me it was a recall and put in an order for the parts, which were delivered right to my door. Had some things come up but he’s finally coming tomorrow to replace the parts
You didn't go over or even mention the faucet button in the lower right corner of the panel. It is the only complicated feature of the machine and I'd like to know how it works. On my machine, I've tried and tried and I cannot figure out how to add hot water. It seems to only add cold water. How do I set the faucet temp for adding a little extra hot water?
Does this washing machine automatically go to the drain & spin cycle after wash cycle is complete? I just purchased this machine and it was on wash cycle for a very long time..I ended up putting drain/spin cycle on just to finish my load of towels...this machine seems "complicated."
I just got this washer also and I'm about to send it back. It wants to choose everything for you even when you use the options the cycle will override all the options and it takes forever
@@rosaramos6467 It drains fine. It drains twice. First the bin where your clothes are and then a pump comes on to drain water below the bin. You should call service because it has a one year warranty if it is not draining.
@@alejandraamado2065 it was the motherboard. We got it replaced and installed by the appliance company affiliated with Whirlpool under the 1 year warranty. Our guy got it done within a week!

That would be the "Hold to Start" button. But I'm just guessing. 🙄
press and hold the start button the washer takes about a good 60 seconds to start up
Just push the Hold to Start button in for 3 seconds and release.
This is first washing machine in 60 years I couldn't figure out. We just need steps 1 2 3 on normal. We will figure the rest out.

@@Miller_Lite the manufacturer recommends using a dispenser ball or pausing the machine to add it later.
Good luck finding the right time to pour it in. The dispenser ball is what I had to resort to.

Press the Rinse Options to light up Fabric Softener which will make the machine stop to let you put it in.

Mine does the same thing, except heavy duty and bulky idems settings thin it will fill up and rinse like normal.

Put deep water always to get them clean
Ours works great and our clothes are clean. Perhaps you're doing something wrong.
So I can use regular powder detergent on this washer?
I found out by trial and error that you have to put deep water for it not to stick on clothes
@@6RosaYJaime Even with liquid detergent and deep water, this machine leaves soap residue on dark clothes. Try adding an extra rinse.

You cannot slow it down, that's how it was programed.

My washer goes from Sensing to done without washing…no matter how much or little clothing is in it! Help!!!

You didn't go over or even mention the faucet button in the lower right corner of the panel. It is the only complicated feature of the machine and I'd like to know how it works. On my machine, I've tried and tried and I cannot figure out how to add hot water. It seems to only add cold water. How do I set the faucet temp for adding a little extra hot water?
He mentioned it at the beginning but it is in the back on this model.

I just purchased this machine and it was on wash cycle for a very long time..I ended up putting drain/spin cycle on just to finish my load of towels...this machine seems "complicated."

I just got this washer also and I'm about to send it back. It wants to choose everything for you even when you use the options the cycle will override all the options and it takes forever

@@rosaramos6467 It drains fine. It drains twice. First the bin where your clothes are and then a pump comes on to drain water below the bin. You should call service because it has a one year warranty if it is not draining.

@@alejandraamado2065 it was the motherboard. We got it replaced and installed by the appliance company affiliated with Whirlpool under the 1 year warranty. Our guy got it done within a week!
@@alejandraamado2065 oh! Additionally, it was the powering to the lock switch. I really think that was the main issue, but they replaced the motherboard as well
How does the bleach dispenser work?
Pour the bleach in when you add your soap to the bottom of the washer and it will get diluted with water as the machine fills.
