Absolutely agree! Especially the hawawshi, they did that hawawshi so bad, it doesnt have the crunchy charred texture of the local bread and its crunchiness. :(
I was gonna say, it looked quite dry! :O I mean, I would have still eaten it, cause it looked good, but yeah, it did look dry and maybe a bit cold? They need a new chef.
As an Egyptian, all the food is seriously poorly made. I'd love for them to try the same food again but fresh and made by actual Egyptian hands. I love that they liked most of the food and I seriously love and admire how much Lulu loved the food. I've always liked Mexico and it's culture and Mexican food is just amazing to me. Mexican and Egyptian languages even have similar words for example we call olives "Zatoon" for plural and "zatoona" for singular. All the love from Egypt and I wish you all the best! We love you!! ❤️❤️❤️
Falafel actually is originally from Egypt and it spread to the rest of the Middle East. In Egypt we make it with fava beans, in the levant region it’s usually made with Hummus ( chickpeas). 😊🇪🇬
"Lacks garlic or salt" or "It's dry" are NEVER words I would ever hear being used to describe Egyptian food! :D I feel like the food wasn't made by the best chefs. Egyptian food is rich with flavours so I am surprised to hear some of these comments tbh.
Lulu saying “I should have been born Egyptian” is how I feel about the Mexican culture! I love everything about Mexican food! I’m Central American so I guess we’re cousins yall 😂🙏🏼❤️
I'm as white as mayonnaise, and I love everything about Mexico. I love the food, music and I celebrate Dia de los Muertos. Mexico is like my second home
As an Egyptian man, I am so glad to see this episode I think the food could be better tho and the seasoning as well, maybe because it wasn't too fresh or maybe a different cook might be better for this episode But generally, very great episode :D
Egyptian falafel should be crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, if its dry, then you made it wrong. Macarona bashamel should be more creamy. The casing for mumbar needs to be crispy, you should hear the crisp when you bite into it, not leathery. If your koshari is unseasoned then its your fault, The garlic and tomato sauces need to be seasoned well and full of flavor. Cook the food right. Wrong bread for the Hawawshi. And finally, camel? Really ladies? lol
IM SO EXCITED TO WATCH!! I’ve been requesting this forever😂 i’m Mexican married with an Egyptian and we live in Egypt and I can’t wait to see their reactions😝Yalla beena! 🇪🇬

For example we Mexicans eat huevo a la Mexicana which is just eggs with tomato, onion and jalapeño here in Egypt they eat shakshooka which is essentially the same thing. They also eat beans with eggs like us haha and we both eat A LOT of rice 😅
they are not western more hispanic , western culture is in Europe and US , canada , Australia etc ..... mexico have very different culture and unique , i can say mexico is on top of all hispanic countries in everything !
This is exactly what I say 🤣 Mexicans are to Latin America what Egyptians are to the Arab world, my kids are Egyptian and Mexican and I feel like their two cultures are very similar in every sense from humor, to taste to everything 🇲🇽🇪🇬💞
I'm Egyptian and I loved this! I always thought Mexican culture resembled our culture, so it's no surprise the food also bridges that huge geographic gap. The mamas are super sweet and remind me a lot of my own Mama! You should hire a better cook, though. Seems like almost all the food was undersalted😢
What bothers me with these kind of video concepts of trying other cultures food, is that the food always seems to be below the average quality of execution so they aren't getting the full experience
I am Egyptian and i grew up with Mexicans and I'm so happy this video came out, although I am a bit disappointed since some of the foods here I can tell were not made in the traditional way
Respectfully, the cook didn't do a good job. At all. I'm not Egyptian but I'm very familiar with it, and it should be much better than what they tried.
As an Egyptian i know the food is good i think it wasn't prepared well so they didn't like much but if they went to Egypt and tryed it they would love it
They like pasta, but honestly, dishes with pasta are not their best dishes. Rather bland. Foreign influences. Like macarona bechamel is basically Greek pastitsio.
@chrisel4349 that was my first thought--"pastitsio!" However, I had something from Saudi Arabia called "kabseh"(sp?) That I think is all over the middle east, and loved it! Had pasta that looked like vermicelli
As a egyptian food looks really cold and weird looking but i am happy that u guys do an video about egypts food! ( i am really proud u did a video about our food also!)
Why does some of the food look dry or like it was left out in the cold for too long? :( Egyptian food looks delicious normally, but I feel like the chef messed it up. Falafel's shouldn't look as dry as that, right?
Middle eastern food is my favorite among all types. It’s clean, they’re clean and it’s never greasy. They put the right amount of seasoning, plus they’ve been around longer than us. I just love it!
no, because im arab, not egyptian but i have tried all these foods, and i assure you, the falafel is NOT dry! if it is dry then its not cooked right, and the bechamel didnt have enough of the white sauce, idk what they call it but my mom when she cooks it, it is a LOT more saucier. and the mulukhiya is not pronounced as “mulu kiya” its mulu - khi - yaah. This is the first times I've seen a video introducing Egyptian foods with such variety in choices! Its usually just koshary or molokhia so that made me excited!❤ However it is a bit disappointing to see that some of the dishes seemed cold/dry like the falafel, hawawshi and macarona bechamel, they're not supposed to be like that but i do understand that filming takes time and that's maybe why.... Also that one lady saying she'd love the bamya with some chopped onions was actually onto something, thats how my mom makes bamya/okra! With some garlic as well! that's the beauty of our cuisine it's not a fixed recipe each person makes their own food a little different!
You guys should show informative little short vids for every food their eating. With the headphones in like a half and half shot so we can see their reaction before they eat the food. Maybe if they have that info they will be more open minded when trying the different foods!
My husband is from Egypt. The food he likes the most, overall, in the us is Mexican food. He feels like it is the closest to home with rice and meat. His favorite "flavored" food is Indian, but for comfort and has liked EVERYTHING he has had...it is Mexican food for him.
I, a Mexican, cook all these delicious dishes for my Egyptian husband. And I will say they are all flavorful and good. Taameya should be hot and crispy on the outside and green and tender on the inside. Makrona bechamel should have plenty of spices and bechamel should have fresh creamy taste, with plenty of salt. Koshary is simple yes, but the salsa with vinegar and spices along with dakka will make it a flavor explosion! I love all these foods and more. Egyptian food is incredible! 🇲🇽❤️🇪🇬
Thanks for trying Egyptian food! ❤️ in Egypt we don’t call it Falafel, we call it Taameyya :) Also, you need to try Egyptian food from a mama 🤣 we don’t do bland food so I’m surprised at the “no taste” comments
This isn’t Egyptian falafel it is Arabic falafel which made from hummus but Egyptian falafel from beans and a lot of green vegetables with garlic and onions
That grandma who doesn’t like anything and can’t speak english is teasing me However Egyptian food never has been dry its for sure not normal i wish they could try it to be fresh from a true egyptian chef
The falafel should not be dry (it should be crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside), and the macarona bechamel should be saucy and creamy and delicious. The shawarma should have been served as a wrap, that's how everyone eats it. I hope the food was served piping hot.
Glad to see this episode but for Egyptians, we actually call it ta’miya and not falafel. Ta’miya is usually thinner than falafel and made with fava beans, not chickpeas. And for the koshary, there should be way more salsa (tomato sauce), we don’t eat the way it was presented. Kunafa is still eaten but basboosa I would say is eaten more in Egypt. Overall, I think you guys had a lot of dishes so props to you! Been waiting for this episode for a while and glad to see it😁
As an Egyptian i think this food is very poorly made. Koshary doesnt have salsa or chilli or da'aa (garlic vinegar flavour). And the falafel shouldn't be dry.
As an Egyptian, Egyptian food is never eaten cold that's why this food is never delivered, it's eaten at home or at a restaurant. It also looks like it's made by a very bad cook.
The chicken shawarma is more of a Syrian/Lebanese dish that only got popularized in Egypt because many Syrians migrated to Egypt after the Syrian civil war
shawarma has been popular in egypt since before then, syrian immigrants did bring their shawarma and make it more common in egypt but there's a local type of shawarma which is different and older

As an Egyptian, I totally agree with you, we need a rematch and an Egyptian chef to cook the food!

The food looks cold. Especially the pasta
I was gonna say, it looked quite dry! :O I mean, I would have still eaten it, cause it looked good, but yeah, it did look dry and maybe a bit cold? They need a new chef.
