- This week, after surviving -14 degrees temperatures with the recent cold spell wrapping itself around the UK, we all (@HakunaMaPumbaaheaded) to the Cairngorm Mountain park up to enjoy a proper Scottish winter vanlife experience with deep snow and reindeers wandering the area.

Hey :) I’m Rob and my dog is called Archie (airedale terrier) and I've been living full time on the road since 2020. This journey began when I left the UK Armed Forces and decide to retire and spend the rest of my life travelling with the dog while living full time in our self converted van (Peugeot Boxer) called Shaky. Living the van life enables me to travel, experience and document the beauty of this world and be with my dog 24/7. My hope is that by sharing my own personal highs and lows along this amazing journey, it might inspire someone else to live this life. It's all about the journey, the destination and the adventure.. with good friends along the way!

That was great Rob 👍 meeting up with that couple and having a good time. See if you can whittle some wood at some point and make Archie some stilts for the deep snow 😄 I bet your van will need a good wash once you leave the snow but its well worth getting it dirty for.
It actually had a greta wash the other night, was parked up in a really bad storm and the van was spotless the next day 😂😂😂 Hope you're well this week?

@@PackTheVanAndGo I would laugh too but when my brother got his white Alsation puppy the ice was burning her pads on paws an he got her 2 pair of rubber wellies for her.(or maybe they came in pack of 4 as 1 pair would be no good) LOL. I am not pulling your leg honest hahaha

In many parts in Scotland there is a culling season for the older stags. The deer predominately shed their ‘branched bones’ around Feb to March
In Arran up at my friends place in Lochranza he is fortunate that the deer shed their antlers not far from his cottage ….it’s great walking those hills behind and finding them
Ahh can you imagine living near where they shed their antlers and being able to find them.. after visiting these islands, I dream of living a remote life on one of thee islands! Stunning places to live and be happy!
@@PackTheVanAndGo lots of folks are doing exactly that, and as are you also …but in an even better way …your seeing such diversity …meeting awesome like minded folks along the way
At the Whins Workshop in Lochranza our friend Reg set off from London in his old VW around 50 years ago (it’s buried at the side of his house) he found a semi remote island (Arran) and with fellow minds set up a great crafting commune …musicians and artisans came and went ….Reg’s workshop is famous all over the world ….they flock to see him …..he keeps a visitors book and the decades of the same generations has dawned his door

Yeah bless him, he was really struggling in the deep snow.. he kept giving up after a short while hence going back! Amazing time with friends and onwards to more adventures with them! Hope you're well this week?

Looks wonderful, dogs are having fun. Can I ask what kind of jacket Archie has, it looks good. I have been looking at getting something similar for my GSP. 🎄❄️☃️🥃
Hi the jacket is a Ruffwear jacket (amzn.to/3ZaMDzT) fits perfect and keeps him warm! Definitely recommend the jacket, hope that helps!

Great video Rob, the snow and the piano music is so relaxing as I sit beside my wood burning stove.

Hi mate, glad you liked the relaxing music! Haven't done anything to the engine of the van, part from try to look after it! the engine is just a 2.0 ltr mate!
How brutal are the roads in the Scottish highlands in winter? I am visiting over Christmas , I will be in a Ford transit front wheel drive, all-terrain tires I think I should be okay right ? Thanks
