Good advice on the sweating mind and carrying all that weight in that cold, made perfect sense, taking your time. The bothy looks great but if the owner has spent £200K on it, you would think he would want a return on that investment, shame mind. We just spent 3 days in the Lakes (lodge not bothy) and although we did not have as much snow, we got -6 and windfree conditions, which was great. Great walk out Eddie, thanks for taking us along. Its one of the best bothies i've been to , i was at one that had electric lights. Yes it doesn't take me long to edit these type of trips , i didn't take my big camera so its run and gun filming and vlogging instead of more cinematic footage. Atb.

Fantastic! Scotland's Number One out in the snow, it don't get any better than that! I was following the weather reports on the "Herald Scotland" and was hoping you weren't out in a hell of a storm Eddie! Our forecasting here is typically wrong too. Back in the late 90's when I lived in the country I kept a snowshoe trail from my house down to the river open all winter. You can't beat hiking in the moonlight with coyotes howling in the distance! It's been snowing all morning here, it's light and fluffy due to the 19f temperature but it's kept me busy keeping the driveway and sidewalk clear. I hope to get out for a hike tomorrow. Fingers crossed they keep the bothy open to the public! Take care, Ossie
Yes Ossie i'm not surprised anymore when the forecast is totally wrong lol. I got mentally prepared for a harsh trip and it was perfect conditions ! I love night hiking especially in the snow but i wouldn't go to a new place unless i was with someone that knows the area. Hope you get a hike in atb Eddie.
Eddie,no bothys or snow down here in Wiltshire so loved seeing that winter wounderland. Lets hope that bothy stays owend by the MBA, travelling that way next year on the TGO and using it as a stop off on way through Glen Feshie.

Cheers A&L. Its easy to get into abit of bother in winter but you got back safe , some people said to me you shouldn't go to the mountains in winter its dangerous. Life's a risk i say , you just have to try and do the right things , take the right gear and know when to head back etc. Atb Eddie.

The bothy looks so much better, it's a shame if it becomes a private lodge but I don't blame the owner after spending all that money, he wouldn't want it getting wrecked. I wonder though if he may allow certain folk to visit or set a small overnight charge. I was disappointed when I saw the iconic interior door had been removed, then pleased to see it upstairs lol. WTF is up with the toilet!! Hope they are going to put in a new poo chair. Great video, I was speaking to Derek, I might be coming in January for a night or two.
