You amaze me my friend! Where most people go "Oh look a rabbit' and take a snapshot your passion and understanding completes your vision to make beautiful photographs. Such a lesson to be learned from watching you is to stop, appreciate and slowly capture what is there and offered. In 58 years I have never seen a hare photo come close to this so in fact you are the winner for the last 58 years. Very best to you always! Pete
Incredible footage of the hare and of the beautiful area of Scotland you were in. The photos are exceptional as always! Thanks so much for taking us along Morten! It’s appreciated my friend!
You are highly passionate photographer I have never seen in my life and the same time a good narrator. You observe so many small things which most of us ignore. I am completely glued watching your video because i don't to miss single a moment.
What a great job of taking both the photographs of the hare and -even more difficult - logging the event for us to see. Thanks for going through the extra effort.
So pleased that you enjoyed your experiences in Bonnie Scotland. We are rightly proud of our wee country, and to see it appreciated and highlighted with such wonderful images is a bit special. Thank you. Haste ye back.
Just go out and do it. Doesn't have to be a travel to the end of the world - it is just about getting out with the camera and get some great experiences.👍😀
Outstanding work with incredible stills and video. It takes a lot of effort to produce this amazing level of content for us to enjoy. Beautiful music choice. Wonderfully entertaining. Don't stop..amazing work.
Another great video Morten. Excellent captures and sublime production. This is why your subscriber count is rising so quickly. Gets a massive thumbs up from me, every time. Well done.
Spectacular photos as always, Morten! Your efforts in that cold, rugged environment are testament that beauty is truly in the details. Thanks as always for sharing your journey and for inspiring me to keep getting outside with my camera and shooting - I look forward to more :)
Incredible as always! I am about a 3 hours drive away from the Cairngorms, I really need to get myself a lens suitable for wildlife photography so I can start taking advantage of the winter conditions! Excellent video, I loved the outro drone sequence and hare clips.
Hi Morten 👍🏻👊🏻👊🏻 Awesome beautiful cinematic cinematography photographing wildlife. I’m enjoying all your adventures. Thanks for taking us along with you and sharing your amazing journey, enjoy and have a Great week !!!! Danny
I can't believe that you're travelled to Scotland just to photograph some mountain hares. But the results and the video are awesome! Especially the music gives everything a more epic touch.
Morten, this was "fantastic". I felt as though I was lying in the snow alongside you and enjoying the moment. Not only is this great storytelling; you throw in lots of useful information about the approach you take to getting the image, the settings and the thinking behind the image. And then there are the wonderful images themselves along with great video footage. Thank you so much!
Hi there Dave and thanks for your amazing comment. So nice to hear how you appreciate my work and nice with the feedback. That is just what I need to make the videos better in the future:)
I live in the north east scotland. I visit regularly to photograph the hares. Hope you enjoyed your time in scotland and will visit again. Love your videos!
Unbelievable quality in each and every one of your videos! Please keep making these Morten. We really appreciate the time you take to transport us to these serene and beautiful places. -Your fan from Texas
Once again lovely pictures, nice music and some good tips. I love to see your videos from different part of beautiful landscapes and lovely animals. Thanks you ever so much again my friend. Look forward to see your opening lecture at Norwegian nature foto festival in Ski, Norway the weekend 16-18th of March.
From mighty Muskox to gentle hares, wonderful pictures!! Forget Lightroom, time for you to have one of your beloved cups of coffee. Are you out there alone? The video work is excellent and looks exhausting.
Dear Morten! So very inspiring and beautiful and well done (recored +edited nicely with great skill)! Highly enjoyable! Mange tak Morten for your wonderful videos you showing us here! Wishing you many wonderful and unique moments in the nature! Best Regards!
Those hares are nearly identical to the white tailed jack rabbits we have here in western Canada....I spent a lot of time with them this winter. Beautiful animals - often overlooked by photographers.
Yes you are so right Jon. I think most wildlife photographers might find the hares a little boring. But I really love them. Wonderful small creatures:)
Morten Hilmer it's highly deserved, it really drives my entheusiasm for photography to have incredibly tallented photographers share their experiences and fuel the passion further. Keep up the awesome work. 🙂
Well done Morten, great shots and always, informative and interesting. What stands out the most is how much your filming has improved lately, there is a whole other quality to the shots, the editing and how thought through the filming is!
Unbelievable beautiful and interesing shots and video !!! I love this kind of animal nature wilderness !!! Great great work man, I enjoyed it a LOT !!!
Another fantastic video Morten. As someone who wants to really take wildlife photography serious, this is inspirational AF! Definitely my favourite vlogger on youtube at the minute for sure
Brilliant Morten, Nice to see you over here in my homeland, you probably find the climate a bit tamer than what you are used to? Keep up the brilliant work.
First of all, welcome to the UK!!!! And second of all, bravo on the photos and I'm astonished that you got so close to it! Hares are so hard to get near especially without a hide. I especially loved your environmental shot of the hare and the later bunch of photos when you had moved yourself for the heather and cleaner background
it is so amazing, that you could get so close to that hare. Unfortunately the hares here in northern Germany are very shy and carefully because they know that there are a lot of hunters out there. Fortunately i can observe them in my Garden through the kitchen windows some times. But as soon they recognise a movement of me behind the window they run for live.... Beautiful pictures of beautiful animals…
Another stunning video Morten. Yuri Golmans place as my fave wildlife photographer is now officially on shaky ground! I only have to watch one of your videos to remember why I'm still doing this photography thing. Epic work Morten, and MORE please.
+Andy Astbury thanks so much for leaving such a lovely comment. Uri is a friend of mine and his work is awesome. I'm very proud to be on your list of photographers you like. Looking forward to sharing more adventures with you 👍👍
what a GORGEOUS video!! awesome music, b-roll and amazing shots that we get to see during the vid now!! Please keep doing these videos, they are breathtaking and besides making me want to go out and shoot, it makes me appreciate life !!
Morten, again, a masterpiece! You really are my inspiration for better photography. We all so.much appreciate you taking the time to bring us with you and share your unique experiences! From Canada, all the best my friend. Looking forward to the next video.
Hi Morten, I cannot believe you are in the Cairngorms at the moment. I am heading there myself in a weeks time in the quest for ptarmigans and mountain hares, and I was hoping to learn from other photographers. If you would not mind sharing a couple of the locations you visited, that would be so helpful and much appreciated. Amazing shots as usual. Best regards, Felix
What an incredible video with amazing photography! Your sensitivity to the environment and wildlife is inspirational and an example to us all. How you managed to get so close to the hare is a mystery to me. Fast becoming my favourite channel.
Hi Michael, thank you so much for your lovely comment! I was nearly giving up at one point when I couldn't get close enough to the hares, but everything worked out well in the end 😃
Thanks a lot Joseph - love the feedback and please let me know if you have any suggestions og comments - also the ba ones. I need to be even better in the future;)
Awesome work! Fantastic Pictures and Video - You took a very nice combination of stills and Video of the Hare for this one! It's always nice to join you on your adventures :)
I love these friggin videos. I also like when you show the shot on the back of the camera. We know it's going to look different once out of the camera, but it's so nice to just see what you see on the back when you take it.
Visited Cairngorm late last summer, and it is truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I was literally planning the next trip on my way home.
Wow, this content is so amazing, Morten. You're cinematography has really improved in these as well, your footage of the hare was so incredible. You should compile a cinematic wildlife edit from all of your adventures, I'm sure it would turn out amazing and be featured by NatGeo or something. Regardless, thank you for sharing your adventures with us!
Hi Morten, a great vlog as usual. I can related to this video as I went to this very same location in jan and feb last year... The mountain hares are amazing tough little creatures. There are more at the top of the mountain, and you usually get better light... the weather looked pretty challenging so the valley was a good choice.. keep up the amazing work...
Hi Adam and thanks a lot. Yes the location is awesome and so is the top part - coming up in part II ;) Hopefully I will get it done before Sunday. Thanks for taking your time to write - awesome.
Beautiful video, Morten! Amazing that the hare was so comfortable with your presence. I suppose you took your time to approach, and were quite respectful of its space, but I would think that the long lens looking like an eye would for sure spook the little guy. Maybe this particular hare doesn't have very good survival instincts! ;) It's inspiring to see how much you enjoy this work and appreciate nature. Great drone footage too at the end!
Thanks a lot for taking your time to write such a great comment Jon. These hares are quite used to wildlife photographers, so they are not so scared as you would experience other places. I am so glad you like my work:)
I can't believe you managed to vlog this, amazing! Stunning shots. It's one of Hannah's dreams to photograph mountain hares in the Cairngorms, we will hopefully make it up there soon! Your images are among the best I've seen of these animals, well done :)
Get there soon as Mountain hares are being killed in their thousands in Scotland as grouse shoot gamekeepers have decided mountain hares pass ticks to grouse and therefore reduce the amount hunters can shoot dead. (there is zero evidence ticks are coming from hares, is much more likely to be passed from sheep, deer etc). It's an absolute travesty.
This is amazing... never heard of these before
It's a very, very beautiful story
Excellent presentation with beautiful images of the hare. Thanks for sharing

amazing video and photos of hare :)
What a buzz when things work out after so many attempts and so many hours patience! Most people would not understand/appreciate the joy!
Absolutly amazing
Beautiful as always. Merci beaucoup Mr.Hilmer
Amazing photos and a brilliant video nice filming!
Love that you take so much care to not disturb the wildlife you are shooting; even when you are done for the day and it's 'just' a hare.
Incredible footage of the hare and of the beautiful area of Scotland you were in. The photos are exceptional as always! Thanks so much for taking us along Morten! It’s appreciated my friend!
Beautiful photos and videos could see it all in a wildlife documentary 👏👏
Absolutely gorgeous! Top stuff
Beautiful Morten, Nice video !! .......Now warm up and have a cup of coffee my friend !!

Morten, these 2 videos are still my favorite! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Gene. I'm looking so much forward to the winter.. 👍
@@MortenHilmer I am with you on that. Before watching your videos I avoided winter photos due to the low contrast. This year will be different.

Though I have never seen a hare in the wild, these mountain hares are absolutely beautiful with their thick winter fur!
Great video
