Very helpful instructions! Gonna tackle this job this week, thankfully Crutchfield has a wiring service that I purchased with my unit so hopefully for me it's just plug and play from there.

Was the follow-up review ever done? I can't seem to find it in your video list. Very interested in either this unit or a dashtop screen that's going to cost a lot more whilst hoping I can feed wires through without cutting anything...

Hi there! Quick question: Does the phone holder pull out far enough to clear the dash overhang? What is the clearance? I'm planning to put one of these in my VX220, and was worried it wouldn't clear the dash (the dash of the VX220 doesn't stick out quite as much as in your Elise). Thanks!

Hi Gary - Yes, it clears the overhang. The overhang does somewhat limit how far back the phone can be tilted, but it's thankfully, entirely usable - so if it works here it should work OK on your VX220!

My deck just went out this week curious what you think of this one in the Elise.

Hey Allen! I actually really like it, especially if you want a cell phone holder thats integrated. It's not perfect but for $149, I think it's a pretty solid choice , I don't hear a sound quality difference between this one and my previous Alpine unit-- it's pretty much the same, but now I can stream Bluetooth so I'm happy!

Good video. Do you intend to upgrade the speakers too?

Thanks Gary! The previous owner actually upgraded the factory speakers in my car to some JL Audio ones - but maybe I’ll upgrade them again!

AutoSugar fitted a pioneer sph 20dab today. Same as yours but with digital radio. It was very easy, all of the connectors just mated with each other. Hardest part was pushing the new radio in. Anyway, everything works fine. Really happy! I did notice that the sliding platform doesn’t quite come out far enough but it is more than acceptable. Did you manage to route the microphone anywhere sensible?

Totally agree on sliding platform - I wish it folded up a bit more, but it folds up just enough to be usable in my view without being a problem. Really glad you like it! I did not end up hooking up the microphone - in my car with the Larini exhaust it's just too loud to make phone calls in the car on the move.
