Well, I like people getting bored of Tudor, and selling them off. Please don't stop.
I’m the opposite with regards to the date. I like a dial without it, keeps the symmetry and easier and quicker to change the time. I just look at my phone if I need to know the date. Who doesn’t have a phone on them nowadays and who doesn’t go everywhere without their phone. Just my opinion.
Can’t you say the same thing about checking the time
I sold all my Tudors and only kept the 1926 36mm. But my daily driver is a Casio Oceanus OCW-T200S-7AJF. Nothing can beat that imo.
Fantastic combo 👌🏽 love them both!
A lot of luxury stuff in there, Cheap Watch Man! 😄
Completely understand you. I also can't stand watch without date (or day+date). It is really handy to have it.
I had a day/date on my Tissot that I wore to work and it really came in handy. I typically dont like either, but it was very functional at work. Dive watches dont need the day or date in my opinion.
100% about the date. So many ppl are completely the opposite and they concern me!
I’m surprised at how much better a State of the Collection video is when it’s not called a State of the Collection video!😂 Thanks for sharing…looking forward to seeing the part 2 with the budget watches too…
Love the Black Tudor Bb and i love the symetrie without a Date… its good to have some watches with date and other watches with no date😉👍🏻
I'm with you about the date. It's a must for me. Also, you like a multicolored bezel, so you need to find you a Seiko Pepsi - classic look. The best new model in my opinion is the SNE591. It's quartz but has a sapphire crystal, date, and has great bezel action.
That Omega Seamaster “Black on Black” strap is the ONLY way to go if you do black….it looks amazing. Dude…that Air King is the bomb! Small but great.
I get it with the Tudors. I have had three Tudors that I've since sold for one reason or another. My ultimate complaint was the thickness of the black bays and Pelagos. However, I picked up the Tudor FXD Marine Nationale and it is my favorite watch in my collection (I used to require dates on all my watches, but since most dates are very difficult to read and impossible to read without taking off my glasses, It has become less important of a factor, than fit, feel, dial legibility, and personal connection). (BTW also a fellow Submariner (Boomer (90-97))
Love the bronze tudor bb58
I got the Mako 2 in blue because of your review and I also love it. Thank you also for my Glycine as well. I do love it too. I am looking at a Seestern Capt. Willard homage too. Thank you for your kind words. They mean a great deal to me. Much appreciated. I shall keep my eyes open for your sales, but if you don't like them, I probably won't either.
I love that Vostok. I have a Kommanderski. It’s fantastic!
Totally agree with cheap high polish. I think it even makes expensive watches look cheap
Only really been in to watches for the last year. One thing Ive settled on is that I like watches with a date and really dislike watches without a date…
Well, welcome to the crazy house. You’re going to have a ton of fun, lose a lot of time and look fantastic.
By the way, that was an intended pun. Lol.
Well there’s a good bit of truth there….already between Casio (really good ones) and automatic, mechanical, chronos, field , GMT and dive I’m at 60. Mostly $375 or less as I see what I like but do have 4 fairly for me “expensive” watches. I have started giving the less expensive ones as gifts as I settle on my preferences😊
Hey! I'm a fellow Submariner! I served on the USS Helena (SSN-725) from 2002 to 2006 as a NAV-ET. What about you? Great video, and I'm your newest subscriber. 🍻
I love watches without date windows - I hate date windows. Even worse are those with the date window at the 4 o'clock or the VERY worst - the magnifying bubble. Different strokes
I like a lot of watches... but I only buy watches that I'll feel comfortable wearing.
Most are titanium & quartz based for lightweight & accuracy.
G-Shock MRG-B2000B-1A1DR
G-Shock MRG-B5000B-1DR
G-shock MTG-B3000FR
Grand Seiko Snowflake
Grand Seiko Tentagraph
On my future purchase list...
Grand Seiko Omiwatari
Omega Speedmaster Moonphase Sedna Gold
Omega Speedmaster X33 Marstimer
Zenith el primero chronomaster
Cartier Tank Must
Rolex Sea Dweller 12660
Interesting take on dates on watches. I love watches with a day or day date. I own two watches without a date, and they sadly dont get to be worn much.
I like that Airking, a real sleeper watch, in the 70's every Rolex dealer had them, they weren't desirable then.
Hey man, hope you’re just super busy… and doing well.
Its funny you’re so into the date window. I wish more of my watches didn’t have them!!! 😂
My Tudor is an amazing watch… that I never wear. I can’t explain it. It should be my everyday watch, and every day I choose something else.
I can’t stand the dull matt black (grey) dials on the black bays
The guy shows us his watch collection which is worth thousands, and then has the cheek to ask for money at the end.
The taste is eclectic and pretty good like your watches
Your dad's watch is imo the best watch you have.
Im interested in the Tudor that you showed at the start of this video, the one that you dont like because it has no date function and is vintage inspired. How much do you want for it ? Im trying to add my first Tudor to my collection. By the way I really like your channel I am a subscriber. Paul
Did you buy it?
If it were me, I’d keep the Omega Seamaster and sell everything else. Then, I’d get a g shock and call it a day.
trade them in for a tudor pelagos titanium blue 42mm, its the best tudor!
How/where do you sell your watches? I’ve got a Hamilton, Tissot PRX, and a couple Seikos I’d like to offload.
I thought I wanted a Tudor BB, after getting it I'm also think I'm selling it. Maybes its the date 😅 I feel ya.
Great video fun and to the point.
My man, you don't have to shake them so hard.
Buy the one with the Date lol
If you have to ask people whether or not to keep or sell ANYTHING; just sell it. Give somebody else the opportunity to own something they actually want.
Love watches with no date
I say you do a giveaway for the black tudor... /s
Thanks
Wow! Thank you so much for supporting the channel, my friend
@@cheapwatchman_official you're welcome brother, my cheap watch collection is out of control but it's my only vice and brings me pleasure, if you happen to have an Invicta Grand Diver 4186 (orange dial) that you won't rid of look me up, they're no longer available in Europe, in the meantime, I'll keep following the channel, we seem to have similar a similar understanding of what makes a watch desirable!
I'm at the age that I can no longer see the date without reading glasses, so don't mind no date watches anymore. I don't even bother setting the dates on my watches!
I'll be honest, I never saw the appeal of Tudor. It's just a way for Rolex to get your money without giving you a Rolex.
I only buy Tudor unique pieces like the bronze black bay 58 brown dial and brownish/reddish bezel, that's a looker that I don't see in the Rolex lineup.
But a regular steel BB 58/54, nah get a Rolex instea.
If Rolex wanted our money they would ramp up production and get our money. Tudor is Tudor. They have their own history.
Which tudors feel cheap?
😂😂😂 @@Pler1978
How much for the Tudor subby?
You can email me if you’d like. Cheapwatchman on the gmails
@@cheapwatchman_official In the UP right now. I will send you an email tommorow. Mike.
Please don’t shake watches to make them run.
Wind them… please 🙏🏻
LOL, well those are DEFINITELY NOT applied indices on you Seiko.
The black bay 41 is ugly. Poorly designed. It has a cool-toned bezel insert but a warm-toned dial and markers. Very bad clash between the two. Tudor as a whole is 👎
What about the BB54? Do u like it more?
Subs !!
Too many divers perhaps?
So you're not selling all of your Tudors, just one. 😂
Probably 2
I find myself caring less and less about a date on a watch.
Day even less... If you don't know what day it is... You have far bigger problems than what watch you're wearing.
Moon phase: Just No!
As a full time TH-camr that works daily I simply forget what day it is and what
Date it is daily. I have hyper focus and lose my grasp on the days and dates a lot. My brain unfortunately doesn’t work like most people’s do. Or maybe that is fortunate. Appreciate you watching, my friend
@@cheapwatchman_official well, then you do have a real need for day/date complications :)
I name the results of my daily work starting with year/month/date, so I'm constantly reminded of those.
@@cheapwatchman_official Well then you do indeed need a day/date complication :)
In my line of work I label the outcome by year/month/day, so I never really loose track of time.
Sorry I think Tudor watches are so ugly and people view them as a poor man’s Rolex. Not for me sorry
In a way they're correct, they are and always were Rolex on a budget.
Although as many say Rolex are overpriced, and at over £8k for a no date, steel dive watch they might have a point!
But unless that person actually has something more pricey than a Tudor on I'd think his opinion was a bit ungrounded.
I dunno, is pretty much anything from a more budget friendly brand just a poor man's luxury watch?
Is a normal steel date Submariner (retail £9000) just a poor mans Smurf (a white gold Submariner, retail £37800)?
Is a plain normal steel 5711 (current value ~£75000) just poor mans Tiffany 5711 (~£2m)?
Or are they all just really nice watches, and we should just buy what we like, what we can afford and what makes us happy.
And sod what the rest of the world thinks, cause 99.5% of them haven't even noticed if I've got a white gold Daytona or a £50 Pagani with a Seiko mecha-quartz in it (wish I'd not sold that watch).
@@fontyyy
Well said sir. I’d wager most of the people on forums trashing one brand or another probably don’t own anything close to the watch(es) they dislike. If you don’t like a particular brand fine, but keep your useless opinions to yourself. There are plenty of people out there that DO like that particular watch and don’t need your idiotic diatribes about it. With very few exceptions, there are better watches out there than any watch you care to name. All comes down to personal taste and what you are willing (or able) to spend.
So you can make a video without putting a clickbait title of “Rolex” in it?!
Watched without dates suck
Tudor watches are sweet. Rolex quality at a much lower price. Plus they treat our veterans well.
It’s totally opposite for me - date, and especially day window just ruins it for me. Keep up the great work !
Im fine with a date but only at the 6.
The date can only work if you do not need reading glasses, or wear glasses. But it clearly RUINS symmetry.
Symmetry FTW!
@@UnburdenedByWhatHasBeen At 12 I think is better
My father also gave me an Air King from 1968. I'm so privileged. It's a 5500 and I absolutely love it. I've been wearing it daily since 1989. Got it serviced about a year or two ago for about $1000 and it came back purring. It's so simple and classy and more importantly under the radar. I'm blessed to have it.
Such a beautiful watch I love the classic Airkings you father definitely has a good taste, I’m looking to buy a 114200 Blue dial 34mm Airking.
@@Gearsandco We suffer from the same watch collecting disease. I too love the blue dial Rolex Air Kings. I hope you get a good deal.
Nice.
@@cormacoreilly7120 thanks 🙏
Was in Zurich in December. Held on buying a new Tudor until I got to Frankfurt. Switzerland only has a 7% VAT refund compared to Germany which is a 17% refund.
So aren’t the watches cheaper in Switzerland at RRP if their VAT rate is only 7%?
@@KMV007 I have found everything costs more in Switzerland compared to the U.S. or other EU country. Even when you factor in the 7% VAT refund, you still are paying a lot more than buying here in the U.S. or another EU country. I got a new Tudor BB Panda Chrono in Frankfurt from the Tudor boutique at full retail. After the 17% VAT refund, I paid just under what Jomashop had it listed for. Boutique gives you 5 year warranty. No questions asked. Unlike Jomashop...
@@stevemoreno6241 you could ask for a discount - around 10% discount at least.
Great collection. Many thanks. I’m the opposite - not a fan of dates on watches unless it’s a gmt or the Datejust. Each to his own. I’d keep the blacked out Tudor - looks really cool !
Sorry but I'm the real cheap watch man, I've got all your cheap rubbish watches and more, my wife thinks I need to see a doctor but my Invicta 31290 gonna be buried with me, you're a luxury watch guy compared to me!
I don't like black watches so I would get rid of it but I am the exact opposite of you when it comes to dates. I hate them! Especially when they have a cyclops. No dates all the way for me.
Own BB58 black dial with gild…Gave me Rolex 6538 vibe worn by Sean Connery in Dr No…it’s a diver no need for a date when you dive, you don’t care about the date under water, plus you carry your phone with you all the time. To me it mess up with the symmetry of the watch…hate those cyclops…Again it mess up the smoothness of the crystal. Personel taste.
Fun video. I have a Tudor BB58 blue and I love it. It’s on the my never sell heirloom list to be inherited by my son. I too wish it had a date, but not a big deal.
Beautiful watch to pass on, I prefer no date
It's Tudors masterpiece lets be honest
I HATE DATES ON WATCHES...UR INSANE
That was a foregone conclusion long ago
"Everybody" buys Steinharts in Europe. Even keeps the price pretty good. Well appreciated.
good move, Tudor sucks and it isn't Rolex but and adopted bastard child
-Rolex Psycho
Keep the black Tudor because it’s ceramic and my understanding is that they won’t make many of them and probably not in the future.
Sell all the Tudor’s and buy a Sea Dweller…..to complement the James Cameron.
Faux rivets and Faux Vintage!
That's most Tudors unfortunately.
I tried to like Tudor so hard but there is always something that doesn’t seem right. For example: aluminium bezel inserts, boring slab sided polished cases (and they are meant to be tool watches), boring plane dials, idiotic crown tubes, fake rivets on bracelets.
Not to mention the price, they are all now between £3500-5000. Also they have the most annoying fanboys that think Tudors are the same quality as Rolex or Omega.
I prefer the older Tudor's, love your Omega. Sell the Tudors.
Think my favorite might be the Glycine Combat Sub. Looks great on that Bond strap. They actually did sell for over $1k pre Invicta, but now they only sell gray market and thus the lower price. Amazing value and the thinest Swiss diver out there at 10.6mm.
I hate dates on watches I do wish more came with out them
I'd let the black Tudor go
Sell the Tudor. Both of them. I’m sorry for being boring- yet they are boring watches 🤷🏼♂️. The white dial one has character, and it is stunning.
A watch from your (anybody’s) father is something holy, imo.
What do u think about the BB54?
@@Julian_O91 I think it’s a very nice watch. Not for me though..
I enjoyed the video! Just curious, if you sell a watch where do you post it?
Love no date
Such a nice Rolex story how your dad bought 2 when he retired. Lovely touch mate ! A forever watch
That Black Bay ceramic is such a cool watch. I'd sell the other two (but that's me).
I sent my Sub back because it was a half click off to the left. How are your bezels?
If you still have your black bay ceramic I would not sell it now, no one is buying them right now, we have one in our shop that we have had since a year or something just like the silver bb58, in this day and age people are only buying the hyped watches, right now its bb41 monochrome with five link bracelet and bb58 gmt. My guesstimate is that Tudor will not keep the ceramic in produktion for to long and in the future it will be a pretty rare collectors piece, the silver will be even more collectible.
Can probably reduce this collection down to 3-4 watches and not miss the rest.
I sold all my Tudors too - except my Pelagos39 - kept that one.
Since you're a Vet, do you ever shop the NEX or AAFES on-line? Sometimes they have some great sales and tax free. I just bought a Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic as my first real watch from NEX. Enjoy both of your channels. Keep up the good work!!
I adore 🥰 this opaline GMT. Although I have a Rolex Batman I still like the Tudor GMTs. Had a black one before, but sold it. Still missing, but now I think 🤔 the Opaline is more gorgeous 😍. If you have Rolex divers you won’t get attracted to Tudor divers much. They just a more diversity in colors and straps. I was thinking 🤔 to get the BB58 on suede and match it with a moccasin 👞 and belt😃. Can’t find an aged black leather shoes or belt for my Tudor Panda 🐼🤭.
Personally, I think your Tudors are worth keeping. I love that they don't have date. If you go back to before Rolex was popular, like the models used in the original James Bond movies--no date! Rolex 6538 from the 50s, no date! Later on we had the 5513 in the 70s and again, no date! And with Tudors you're basically getting a Rolex without the mark up. Different signature on the movement, but otherwise very similar with equal timekeeping imho. With a new Tudor you're getting new parts that have a Rolex lifetime of wear left in them at the price of a Tudor. I feel kind of embarrassed for people who have the Rolex "goggle eye" on it. I always think they have been seduced by marketing. Rolex is a fine watch, but it used to be kind of a secret known only to aficionados of horology. Now anyone who reads GQ thinks they're cool. Personally, I think the Tudors are much more complimentary for their wearer.
I would keep most of those and sell the Rolex easily. Also, who needs more than two Tissues
Tudors, I love Tudor I own them, but I only need a dive and GMT. I won't ever sell mine. I don't but fake patina. I have many watches without dates. I would get rid of those Tudors though. They are also to thick unlike the 58. And as for bands, I have several watches that the band is 50% the price of the watch. One where the band is as expensive as the watch. It doesn't matter because once a band is on a watch the price is value is now the total of both. Get rid of the black Tudor. Keep the GMT and I could care less about any black Bay that didn't have the slim case like the 58.
The Rolex Air King story is so great. What a dad.
Sorry I have to go because I just realized you only have one seiko. Peace.
First time visitor! It seems you are too impulsive. Part of the watch collecting thing, that everyone stresses on YT, is to see a watch 3 times in the flesh, before you buy. You have the biggest, and the smallest Rolex, which aren't nice, and then loads of "shopping centre" watches which are terrible. But the weird thing is you single out the Tudor's as the blame watches? Because they haven't got a date? Weren't you present when you purchased? If I were you I would sell them all. You need a new hobby. Have you thought about LEGO?
I was gonna offer you a killer trade for that Tudor Pepsi…I have two San Martins that you’d love 🤣🤣. Nice vid.
😂
Do you mind sharing what watch box that is??
Looks like a Rothwell
I don't understand the popularity of divers watches, or even chronographs - maybe 1% of people actually dive, or do laps in a race car?
Or the popularity of Rolex, manipulating the market to make their factory line watches desirable by making them hard to obtain. Give me a watch that tells me the time immediately, thus my like for fliegher and pilot watches.
I’ve had Tudors in and out of my collection. They are nice watches but they don’t always hit that “I have to keep it” vibe. I got the new BB Burgandy on jubilee and I loved it for a month and said nahhh not keeping it. That one didn’t have a date. Then I had the reverse lands chrono and the same thing happened! Liked it but didn’t love it. Sold it. Problem is that if you buy them at retail you’ll lose your shirt selling them. I think that’s what sours me the most. They don’t really hold value. Unlike Rolex. Which I have 4 of. Probably why I don’t care for Tudor as much
Wear that air king with pride. I have a birth year (1978) OP 34 that is going to my daughter and a 78 Datejust going to my son. Yoda was right, size matters not; your father loved you enough to wear it knowing it was to be passed on. Anyone mocking you over watch size is proving why they should not be listened to. Wear that watch in good health and remember him fondly.
This is going to sound terrible, but I wear my Apple Watch Ultra more than my Rolex almost solely because my Rolex doesn't have a date. I love the Orient, man. Those are so underrated IMO.
I Think the BB54 is the true hommage Vintage Submariner with History, the other Black Bays are nothing half and nothing whole! The Airking i like the most, i owned the same model in white!
I absolutely hate when watches have dates. It is annoying. I can tolerate a 4:30 stealth date, or a date hand that points to the date, but the standard 3 o’clock date Drives me insane. I also love fauxtina.
It is so amusing how different all of our preferences are.
Your video editing is very smooth and funny. I love the collection man, your air king is so cool!
Purists like me, adore 🥰 iconic no-date watches, like the Sub and the Speedmaster. The dial looks 👀much cleaner. May that’s why I love my Tudor FXD/MN21 too.
"sometimes I feel like it's a little bit big for me" -- that's what SHE said ! 😆
Personally I love the look of the Black ceramic Tudor, if I could afford one I'd buy it. But if you don't love it, then why keep it?
