Great video! I will be using it to put my EGR back on eventually so I can continue to get tuned. Looking at going with the Processwest intake manifold with the port injection as it retains EGR functionality.
What is the torque spec for bottom plate? Did you clean the studs off with oil? looked like it. Cheers and thanks for such a good quality video. I plan to also do one-piece IBR (ibuildracecars) TGV deletes too. Subbed
Looking back at my notes I torqued those bottom 10 mm bolts to 5 ft lbs. I did use some inhibitor on those studs . And cleaned them with a wire brush. IBR makes good stuff. I installed a version of their one piece deletes in my IBR brz manifold kit install video. Fitment was spot on . Thank you for watching!
@@zoycogarage1780 thanks, you used loctite (blue) on those you said? Or do you mean like WD-40/PB Blaster? I’ll be sure to clean them with a wire brush too. Thanks man! You said the top plate torque was 14? Thanks for replying
For those rusty studs and bolts, I stated with some Blaster and a brush. Then I used STA-BIL rust stopper/inhibitor. You dont need to use loctite blue... that's a thread locker. They do make a rust remover though. I mainly wanted the nuts to spin freely on and off. WD/40 probably would have been fine. And yes that is 14 ft lbs for the plate on the manifold. Good luck with your install!
@@zoycogarage1780 Thank you for clarifying. My car only has 3800 miles so I doubt it'll have any rust on those lower bolts. I plan to not use the large T-adapter and move the upper coolant hose to the bottom coolant inlet. I think this install will be a bit cleaner. Your video is a huge help again. I'm going to do both the FULL TGV deletes and EGR delete at the same time. Cheers man! I'll let you know how it goes.
Your car is so new... should be easy to work on. That's a good idea omitting the adaptor. The hose looks long enough. Will be curious to hear how it goes. Thanks again for watching!
I wrapped it with some electrical tape and zip tied it to an adjacent wire bundle. You just dont want it getting wet. FYI if you're going to do the TGV deletes and Cobb flex fuel kit and fuel pressure sensor, then you will want to keep those harnesses in an easy to get to spot. Cobb uses them to send info to the ecu. Not an issue for the EGR harness. thank you for watching.
I used angled needle nose pliers. You can see the connector in the video at the 2:00 mark. It's the gray connector. I'm not sure you can reach it with the intercooler in place. Good luck with your project and thanks for watching!
Sorry for your loss... Not sure what I'd do in that situation. Hope the video was helpful putting it back together. This is partially why I do the videos, in case I have to put something back. My rafters are full of detached wrx parts... just in case. Thanks for watching!
No... and sorry to hear about your issue. I looked it up and you might look at the purge control solenoid valve. Could be a damaged hose or bad valve. Some of the other causes are unrelated to this install... but you never know. Did you get a tune for it? Good luck figuring this out!
@@danielalaniz2078 Glad you were able to find the problem. And it's an easy fix. Most initial problems seem hose related. Mine have been mostly me missing a clamp.

Probably the best EGR delete video I’ve seen. Great angles and very explanatory. You are a legend and a scholar sir.
Your kind words and input are an inspiration. Thanks for watching and good luck with your install.
By far the best EGR delete tutorial
Thanks for watching!
Best video for EGR Delete. Simple and effective. Great work!

Glad to hear the video is helpful for returning to stock. Shame you even have to do it. The EPA sucks.
Thanks for watching!
Same reason I came to this video. Unfortunate that I have to put this and TGVs back on to go farther.
Did you ever buy one?
Used a trash tuner
I see a disconnector on the valve. When you unplug the sensor you will not get check engine light. Is there a cap to put on that conector?
Excellent video sir, helped me out tremendously. Step by step with great video.
Glad it helped. Thank you for watching!
nice detail install. thanks for the vid.

Did u sell those parts? I kind of need them for smog inspection in California.
Sorry to hear that. Wish I could help but I'm holding on the the oem stuff for now.
Good luck getting passed!
So unplugging egr is simply just removing that grey connector at 2:00 ??? Don’t have to do anything else?
Yes. You can just unplug it. The pros and cons are debatable. You'll still need a tune.
I did the egr delete and got a CEL
So what did you do with the wire harness for the valve solenoid?
