Theres a really good ps2 beat em up brawler named Urban Reign. Its made by the Tekken and Soul Calibur team. It has 60 characters, alot of animations and fighting styles from Tekken, great multiplayer modes, simple but deceptivly complex fighting system and it even has Paul and Law as guest characters. I would highly reccomend it.

The only Tekken I had for years was Tekken 2 on a PS1 demo disc, with only Lei and Jun playable. T2 and those two will always have a special place in my heart.

Feels strange (but at the same time cool) to hear Kazuya's theme now... since his announcment in Smash Ultimate, one thing I would have liked to make Kazuya harder is that if you fail to beat his Devil form that you had been forced to beat normal Kazuya again before you get another chance against his Devil form.

I think the best strategy again Tekken 2 Devil Kazuya is to make him whiff and then capitalise
Tekken 2 is classic, I remember the arcade machine, Heihachi's massive head on the side. It's a great 3D(2D) fighter. It has no sidestepping mechanic, a feature that I have rarely seen executed correctly in 3D fighters. It's hard to name a 3D fighter that has a very good sidestepping mechanic that benefits the gamer, most sidestepping mechanics in 3D fighters have more negative outcomes to positive outcomes thus making a feature for unique situations or pretty much pointless. Personally I find sidestepping in 3D fighters is just for movement because the risk factor for offence and dodging attacks is too great unless that 3D fighter has a very good sidestepping mechanic.
I remember Kazuya being a lot stronger than Devil.

Tekken-Basuka93 for characters like Jun, King, Heihachi, etc. I think them being difficult depends on how far you've progressed in arcade mode but Kazuya was a nightmare. He's my favorite character but this is the only game where I kind of hated him.

Tekken 3, for me, mate. First fighting game I ever played. I remember playing it on an arcade in Spain, and my parents got it for my (I think), either 5th or 6th birthday or something.
is it possible to somehow obtain a tekken 2 ISO that has the ps1 music, but the arcade AI? although the music on stages like kazuya's are mesmerizing, everyone else's themes are flat out terrible on the arcade version. nothing compared to the home edition.

I'm wondering what inputs you were using to try to break throws? Throw breaks did exist in this game. To break basic throws, you have to press the corresponding input of the throw being performed. For instance, a RP+RK throw can be escaped with RP+RK. As for command throws, I don't think they can be escaped, but there may be some exceptions.

Yeah, everyone was in their prime in this game. Paul, Law, and Baek, and (possibly) Yoshimitsu, were the same age, Nina and Jun were 22, Anna and Michelle were 20, Lei was 26, Bruce and King were 32, Ganryu was 34, and Kazuya and Kunimitsu were 28 - I included Kunimitsu, because there's a (more or less) official timeline of the series (same one where I got Yoshimitsu's year of birth from - 1959), and it says she was born in the same year as Kazuya (1958).
The only exceptions, pretty much, are Heihachi, who's 54 here, and Wang, who was an old bugger even then, at 84. Not sure about Armor King, but my personal headcanon says he's considerably older than King, maybe even closer in age to Heihachi (Late 40s at the oldest, I reckon), which would explain his failing health, and his eventual death at Marduk's hands - Aging wrestlers often develop serious health problems (think Mickey Rourke in 'The Wrestler').
