Kazuya never fights Roger, Alex, or Kuma on stage 4 due to having Roger officiate as his stage 8 mid boss.
His stage 8 mid boss fight is always against Roger, never Alex. Even if you select Kazuya with a kick button.
Only way you can make Kazuya fight Alex on stage 8 is beforehand go to the Options Mode and set the answer to YES for character change at continue? First, select Roger so that way Alex will show up on stage 8, lose, hit start to get sent back to the character selection screen, once at character selection screen select Kazuya. There you go! Kazuya will fight against Alex.
Another piece of trivia regarding Kazuya in this game is that he possesses the same fighting stance as Baek, Devil, Angel.
I like how Kazuya and Jun "bow" to each other before both rounds. That was sweet.

Kazuya as a tragic character in the first two games had a peculiar charm that fit the darker tones of early Tekken perfectly. Being constantly pulled by both sneaker-collecting sillyness and by world-ending desires, remaining focused on your mission is no easy feat.

Kazuya's internal conflict throughout this game just hits different. It definitely gave his character a lot more depth compared to being "irredeemably evil" like nowadays.
Man, what I wouldn't give for the first three Tekken games to be remade with Tekken 4's format of storytelling. That'd be grand, but alas, it's a dream that just isn't meant to be.
That shot of Angel embracing a red-eyed Kazuya from behind still moves me. Like she represents what he once was, clinging to him so he doesn't completely go down the road to villainy.
@JKF 201726 because she knows that their could be a chance to save him along with jun. even though, tag team 1 isn’t non-canon I thought of that ending scene with angel putting her hand on devil’s forehead turning back into Kazuya and smiling preciously. After that, we’ve see that she left him alone on the ground still breathing.
But there is a new trailer, were Kazuya appears with "There's Hope in the darkness.".
Maybe we can see something like that...

@@Tempestelterna Counter Hits on Unblockables do more damage than on normal hits and since Kazuya used an unblockable of his own the damage is enhanced.
Now I can see why Kazuya is the final boss of this game.

During this time, Kazuya was struggling with the devil gene, which was slowly but surely taking over his body, and lost to Heihachi because of it. The drop in the volcano just sealed that the devil was there to stay, possibly for good.
Yeah same reason why Jin "lost" to Hwoarang in Tekken 5, because of the devil gene taking over

I keep forgetting that Kazuya had this weird "sidestep" move by simply touching forward, and I can see how effective it is here than the other games to come.

@cherdaq Michelle, Yoshimitsu (it take some health tho), and Heihachi also have sidestep moves. You can also roll to the side when knocked down.
Kazuya fights Heihachi on stage 9 as his sub boss.
Heihachi's stage Pagoda Temple plays Kazuya's music in place of the regular stage BGM.

Man, I forgot how devastating Kazuya's counter attacks are.
I believe this game in specific had like a "reflect" mechanic with counter attacks, especially with unblockables, seems to hit the countered player with their own damage, stacked on top of Kazuya's.
Can we talk about that combo at 4:00 and the lightning uppercut to finish *chefs kiss*
A part of me wishes they'd stuck with the idea of Kazuya's devil form being the result of him making a pact with an actual demon. The "Devil Gene" being the product of a genetic mutation caused them to have to make retcons and additions to the story that sought to clarify things but only opened more plot holes. There really should be more than just two people on the planet with the Devil Gene. I did get Kazumi out of the Mishima mess of a story, so I can forgive it a little.
The devil is still an entity. Kazumi's devil was a seperate entity. Kazuya's was a seperate entity that he takes over in Tekken 4. And the biggest proof of this is the existence of Devil Jin. Since Kazuya merged with his devil form, him and devil are the same character. Kazumi and Jin could not control their devil genes explains why their devil counterparts are entirely different characters.

@TheGaming Terminator241 I like playing as him in tekken tag 1 hd. Though, I do love playing as Jin Kazama a bit more along with Jun, unknown, and devil. But overall, I like playing as the 5 characters.

The damage % on CHs in Tekken 2, also scaled with the attack being thrown at you.
So unblockables (which do alot of damage) would often get you KO'd.

You know, I have been wanting to see a remake of tekken 2 kazuya for a few months now. The reason I wanted to see one is because the one you made in the past is outdated and there are a lot do dumb things you can do in Tekken 2. A remake was needed even more because of Jun vs Wang tas video. Then you came out with Tekken 2 Kazuya tas remake. Thought it wouldn't happen anytime soon but it did. The video is exactly how I expected it to go except some things. Well done Maina.

Kazuya was so op in tekken 2 I remember using him in tekken 5's arcade history on the Playstation2 his Wgfs , while standing 2 , twin pistons, his 2 unblockables lightning uppercut and lightning screw uppercut including his combos were pretty cool to pull off also back then kazuya goes yerg! with his wind god fists tekken1-tag1 before dorya! in tekken4-7 with the ewgf awesome memories
