@@Official_Royalworld thanks! I get why the British royals have so many documentaries bc they are the most famous royal family in the world. Problem is so many docs are sycophantic towards them & repeat the same stuff over and over.

This is a great documentary for Cambodian people to learn

Great documentary
Glad you enjoyed the film and stay tuned for more to come.👍🎬♥️
The history of the Cambodia & Monarchy like much of Asia is interwined thats why you cant tell the story of the nation without them. Cambodia in last 10 years has transformed economically and still a major SE Asia tourist destination. The Khmer people like all of SE Asia are on the whole friendly and welcoming of tourists, especially those that take time to explore and not just the cities or well known tourist places.
Thank you for your comment!🙏🎬♥️

Based on history i found that these great empires fall from within, slowly but eventually, no matter how powerful they were.
The dramatic shift from Hinduism to Buddhism and now tourism 😂
👍🎬🕵️♂️
What wasn’t mentioned were the outside entities that were involved in the politics in Cambodia as well as the Khmer Rouge takeover. Yeah, they don’t mention that for a reason to protect those (powerful people) involved.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. 👍🎬🕵️♂️
They did address it from @29:00 onward.

This is as close as it gets for the history of Cambodia. Please learn from it not to let it happen again. We build when our country at peace, we destroy when our country at war. Please give peace an ultimatum 🙏🙏🙏

My husband hated Sihanouk because he always said that said person sold his country out to Communists. and now, years later, I think he was correct.
Hey did you know America is the reason why Cambodia fell to the communists? Did you know the people with mysterious ties to the CIA helped staged a coup that seriously destabilize Cambodia? And that coup led to incompetent morons who actually believed America would always be there “to help” being in charge? Did you know America illegally bombed Cambodia even after being warned that doing so was causing more people to join the communists?
👍🎬🕵️♂️♥️
What happened in the past is the past.
What is happening in the present is what we should be focusing on.
What happens in the future is something could and will be changing.
Hate the past but don't hate the present. Cambodia in the present day is much better than 30 years ago and is definitely a great place to visit and an amazing location of tourism. Don't believe people that never been back to Cambodia. Go and see for yourself before you deciding on the outcome.
And yes, the current government is basically an authoritarian communist style government. But the country is very much a democratic country. It is just because the ruler communist, it doesn't make the country a communist.
Sihanouk was the one who allowed Vietnamese communists to hide out in Cambodia when he said he’s a neutral country.
@@maxxibroactually it does. The country cannot be democratic if the gov is communist. Democracy is also a form of government.
Have anyone here been to china? Great country! Us marines went to Vietnam long ago in South Vietnam 1960.

Afterall, Norodom Sihanouk remained as a mere symbol.

we need all Freedom and the right to vote. The King and communist has to go away, Free the people to speak out for their rights. Don’t take down the smart people who know how to speak up for Freedom. We need Freedom.❤❤
King law life❤❤❤❤❤
Who is the heir to the throne ?
👍🏽❤️🎬
There isn't a successor as such. The king is elected by the council of the throne and can come from the houses of Norodom or Sisowath.
Corruption is everywhere in the world.

The French is so kind to the Cambodian to the point that they still protect Cambodian treasures in the Guimet Museum till these days…What an excellent protectorate!
hahaha... Really? Yeah.. French helped Cambodia to escape from Siam (Thailand)'s colonial and Cambodia became under Franch Colonial and French took so many things from Cambodia.
👍🎬♥️🕵️♂️
@@marumaru.1703the French can take as many things from Cambodia as they want, but the one thing they cannot take is our lands fools.and we appreciate the French come to save us that what she ment fools.

Before French colonization, Cambodian kings of the current royal house were the vassal king to Siam hence were crowned by the king in Bangkok.
And before that, and before the Toungoo Empire, it's the opposite.
Thank you for your comment! 🙏🎬♥️🕵️♂️
Does he has wife and children?
Good question. 👍🏽❤️🎬
I feel sad for the present King of Cambodia as he is an LGBT and cannot be himself. His Royal Family is still under the control of Hum Sen.
agree.
Hunsen basically applied the strategy inspired by his favorite chinese epic: Three kingdom.
Everything looks so similar to the three kingdom's lore.
especially thr part where Caocao kept the monarch as puppet.

Tourist mostly from other countries afraid to visit cambodia!!¡!it !!!❤❤❤❤
The claim that tourists, particularly from other countries, are mostly afraid to visit Cambodia is not supported by the current data. In fact, tourism in Cambodia has been showing positive trends, with significant increases in international arrivals. For example, Cambodia experienced a rise in international tourists in early 2024, and the country is aiming to attract over 5.6 million international tourists by the end of the year (The Better Cambodia) (The Better Cambodia) (Mekong Tourism).
While Cambodia has some safety concerns, such as petty theft, traffic accidents, and risks in rural areas due to unexploded landmines, these are not unique to the country and are common in many tourist destinations. Major tourist spots like Siem Reap and Phnom Penh are generally safe for visitors if they follow standard precautions such as avoiding traveling alone at night, not displaying valuables openly, and using reputable guides (Travellers Worldwide).

Thank you for your comment! 👍🎬♥️
I certainly enjoy visiting. Siem Reap has a brand new airport with nice new highways into town.
The Khmer king thought all in Cambodia belonged to the Royal family .. disregarding the welfare of the Khmer population
👍🏽❤️🎬
I married a Cambodian refugee in 1977 and learned to speak the language and a whole lot about the culture. Speaking to the refugees who came over at that time, what they went thru to survive seared my memory and my heart. The country itself is really not tourist material even now. I would suggest staying away, as it is still very much Communist! The people are lovely, however.
Shut up
@@BigRiceEnergyWhy should she lol! It’s the Truth! Cambodia was Entirely built by the French during Colonization with Siamese Architecture and now Entire Chinese Cities and Towns LOL!

The current cambodians have little related to Angkor people. If there is no French explorer, cambodians still don't know about the Angkor.
you must be from a neighboring country that likes to distance the khmer people from our angkorian (and further) ancestors. you guys just can’t accept that we still exist.
how come you are so jealous of our past present and our future
go back to school if you are fool
I always heard the Vietnamese had more relation to Angkor people.
@@Garbeaux. South Vietnam does have a relation as it used to be apart of Cambodia before it was conquered by the Ngyuen Dynasty. But if we go so far back into the past, then both Vietnam and Cambodia can traced their ancestry back to the Austroasiatic people.

Did the French come to help or rob the ancient artifacts? Did the French return any ancient artifacts in the past? The Cambodian royal family had internal conflicts and asked for help from Siam to resist the royal family supported by Vietnam. And the government of this area was an imperial government, with a king who ruled the city-state kings again, like Jayavarman VII. At that time, there were few records but during the Siamese era, they expanded their power, said to have invaded and at that time the Cambodian dynasty came to help resist the Vietnamese power, as recorded in the chronicles.
