I am a retired American came to the Philippines 14 years ago.I find it very pleasant and enjoyable here at 82 living totally on my SS each month it is a good life. Everything is so much cheaper here and there is nothing missing from what I found in the US, rnt so cheap, medical, food, transportation all so much less expensive. People very nice most speak good english, what more could a person ask for. MKL

However, i am pretty sure that Japanese did not use just one ship otherwise they have had stupid tactics. so maybe they have distributed amongst then others were halted by American troops since world war 2 had started during the transport. possibly other ships with gold in it when to the Philippines and hide somewhere since that time the Philippines was under Japan after conquered

It's in USA vault. Watch the old clip. All banks in the Philippines sank their money and coins under Manila sea to kept it away from the Japs with USA help. In Iloilo City some ancestral mansions were not bombed because they were unique in architecture, Lopez boat house. The Lizares mansion is huge but the family doesn't want to go back there anymore because it was used as torture chambers of the Filipinos defending to death Panay island. Many of our schools and universities were used as their prisons and torture chambers. It's hunted and we all run out cuz we can feel the screams and suffering of our ancestors.

My dad who's now deceased was a friend of Roger Roxas back when he was still working for the Philippines' Bureau of Customs. When I was about 13-14 years old he told me one detail that was left out in this video and that is that the Buddha's neck had a thread around it which allowed Roger to turn and remove the head altogether thus revealing the hollow inside that was full of precious stones and not just diamonds. He said Roger even gave him a B&W picture of the Buddha right next to his friend which he unfortunately lost several years later.

The moral of the story is, "Never go after anything that is stolen because it comes with a Curse." The Curse started with the Japanese Engineers, that hid the loot, got buried alive in the cave. Japan was defeated and Yamashita was brought to America for trial and was sentenced to die by Hanging. Roger was tortured and lost everything. Then, the curse ended with a Revolution against the Marcos Regime. The Filipinos were so fed up with the Marcos Regime and were just ready to Burn the Marcoses alive but US President Reagan, a good friend of the Marcoses, rescued the Marcoses and had the Marcoses in Exile where Ferdinand Marcos died in Hawaii. If you don't want to be in that cursed situation, so by all means, stay away from stolen goods because Stealing is number six of the Ten Commandments of God.

A friend who used to work for DENR in Mindanao told me that rich Japanese would rent/buy land in remote mountain areas and corrupt greedy politicians always let them.
The Japanese would then bring in bulldozers, trucks, etc. And start digging. Once they found whatever it is they were looking for, they'd abandon everything, all machinery and equipment.
My friend never found out what it is the Japanese were looking for and obviously found.

As of May 17th, 2024, the hack is still going at Paris and Horseshoe. Don't bother with the other casinos. They don't have any of the roulette games. The tier credit counter may be different now, but today, it was a countdown from 1000 to get 1 tier credit. I put the $1 bet on at Horseshoe and had 2500 TCs in about 15 mins, plus 2 free drinks comped. So that was an extra bonus 5000 TCs for the day. It's between $800-1000 to get those, not $50. If you can find the 3x, 5x, or 10x, then yes, it's cheaper, but you'll need 2 days/ 48 hours to get the full 15k TCs.

Yamashita treasure is the Filipino's version of El Dorado. Yamashita gold was a convenient alibi of Marcos' plunder that widely appeal to Filipinos thirst of conspiracy theories. Gen Yamashita was a professional soldier and never showed fanaticism in his career as a soldier. He even surrendered unlike some Japanese who committed suicide rather than surrender or did not surrender for a long-time.

It does indeed make you feel bad for Roger, but why should any of them have been allowed to keep the gold? It was stolen. Should it not have been returned? I understand that after smelting, it'd be impossible to know where that specific gold was stolen from, but we know it wasn't stolen from Marcos or Roger. The gold should have gone into a trust and distributed to the victims of the war. Stolen property doesn't cease to be stolen property just because you found it in a cave tunnel

Of the 175 areas where the treasure were hidden/buried, probably one of them was known by my father (deceased). He, with several other Filipinos, was asked by the Japanese soldiers to download drums from several trucks into a pit several meters wide in between hills. He was only lucky enough to run for his life when he learned the Japanese started killing one by one the Filipino helpers present in the area. He never told us the exact location of the area.
