This is usually how the Japanese openings are for these games. The western releases change the opening music to some orchestral rock soundtrack probably because of copyright reasons (I'm not sure)

As much as I hate to admit it, I can see why they wouldn't risk localizing it back then because the series was still struggling outside of Japan. But here we are now, post-Yakuza 5 and Yakuza 0, and globally the series has never been stronger!! We're long overdue for a localized release of Kenzan, Ishin, and Black Panther 1&2 (though they'll likely change that title for obvious reasons 🤣). Hell, I'll even take a Dead Souls remaster, so long as they improve the controls!
I've only just getting into the Yakuza series, and I only have an PS4 so I'm sort of limited on some of the games, mostly the spin offs, I've only played Kiwami 2, and the original PS2 Yakuza game, but these games look so cool and hoping Kenzan gets some modern day treatment, also the name of Ishin is confusing me and the store page doesn't help, is it being remade in the Yakuza Like a dragon turn based rpg game way or traditional Yakuza?

If it adds something, Spanish is my native language and not english, so pronunciation and phonematic issues won't be a problem to me (as they're similar to spoken Spanish). But on the other way, yeah I think I should consider just playing it because of the dense japanese. But even though, I'm learning the language anyways because I'm exicted to do so! I'd want to know how did you play the game. Do you speak Japanese or you also watched translated playthroughs? This game has a more…touchy subject manner that wouldn’t fly well here in the states and I think everyone else. The devs talked about how they would have to probably remake the entire game for it. Ngl I wouldn’t mind as long as it has the combat from Kenzen.

It's a plot point that hits hard, as it was intended to, and how that moment anchors your emotions in the situation and affects the characters over the course of the game is one of the beautiful things about Kenzan. Additionally, Kenzan has the best story in the series. If RGG's condition to give it a remaster or remake was predicated on the idea that they needed to change the story, they simply should not do it at all. I hope that fan patch is ready soon 😮💨
It’s because some of the games subject matter is far too mature for the west to handle and would have to face massive rewrites if they want to bring it over. Ishin didn’t have this issue which is why they remastered it. I personally don’t want a Kenzan remake for this reason.
@Thereal_nishikiyama That's basically way before they started to deadass change the mood and context of the dialogues over the West, that part of the team was pretty chill until the remastered collection where they started censoring for stupid and silly reasons, one clear example I can give is the blatant censoring of the word 'rape' mentioned in Yakuza 4 over the phone by Hana-chan at the beginning of the game, it's even sillier when that was voiced both by Hana-chan AND Akiyama, and yet they still thought nobody would notice. So yeah, I personally wouldn't trust them giving this game the proper respect it deserves, they would water down its themes and play it super safe, essentially removing the author's original intent on how fucked up things were back then as it definitely didn't paint that stuff as something to be praised, just simply showing it and being faithful to the era he wrote this story in.
You gifted us with ishin please for all that is holy free kenzan and show us westerners more japanese goodness. And while your at it kuryhou 1&2 kiwami please
@@bergonath8851 I think they're not going to include the opening at all, since now they changed to the new engine, Dragon Engine, and every game on it doesn't have an intro at all (Yakuza Like a Dragon, Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 6)
Am I the only one who just wants a port? Remaking it in dragon engine would strip it of all it's charm and make it a completly different game. You'd be better off just asking for a new samurai spin-off instead.

Yakuza has always had an urban feel to them obviously. Rap and Hip Hop is not uncommon
