Kiryu’s bow and, “Forgive me” feels so loaded. Forgive me for not being able to save you all those years ago, forgive me for not knowing you were still out there. So quietly but powerfully emotionally. This whole scene had me choked up, and then got me ecstatic when Judgement kicked in. What a fucking payoff for longtime fans.
I'm glad someone share the same thought with me! The moment Kiryu bows to Kashiwagi, I knew instantly that deep down, he's sorry for all those years ago and at the same time he's happy to see him alive.
I rather thought it was because Kiryu was showing his respect like he would to a superior. Though Kashiwagi was never his own wakagashira, Kiryu always respected him like one. I thought he was just doing his yakuza manners.

It feels like its all building up to something. Where were the 2 yakuza from gaiden that were pulled into daidoji? Date said something about Akiyama being "back" at the very end of the reunion scenes. Ei-chan and ebina's stories aren't likely over either. Akane and Ichibans story can't end like this either. And what will become of Lani? Lots of questions
Gonna be honest, before this, I only played Yakuza Like a Dragon, and Like A Dragon: Ishin, so I never knew who the bartender truly was and how Kiryu knew him. After playing Yakuza 0 however, I can now see why.
Kashiwagi's death never made any sense to me. Especially how he died. Minigunning someone in the middle of major metropolis with a helicopter? Fucking hell. That is an act of war. It will probably take a few more decades to properly clean up Yakuza 3's fucking mess.
This was just delayed. Kiryu already was at Survive in Gaiden when he met with Tsuruno, he was lucky Kashiwagi wasn't there. I wonder if they'd still pretend they don't know each other if they ever meet by themselves. They have so much to catch up.

They're different people Joryu wears sun glasses and have dark hair, Taichi Suzuki on the other hand has gray hair and no glasses, and always wears only pants from the suit

That's my theory at least.

I can already see kashiwagi shredding the electric keyboard like in 0, kiryu story is truly the most beautiful and saddest ive ever seen in a game and i loved following every bit of it from being a low level Yakuza to father to taxi driver to grandparent to agent to meeting new friends im extremely grateful ive gotten to experience these games i just wish i could do it for the first time a second time god damn i love these games
