rose ottos (essential oils) tend to be more sparkly and powdery. rose absolutes are more jammy and dark. Though bulgarian rose otto to my nose is still quite jammy. A rose de mai absolute would be quite dark and jammy but so much depends on the origin and extraction of the material. not to say there aren't synthetics involved but wanted to add some additional context in case you're interested.

Fantastic review, Ramsey! I’m a big fan of AAAP as well, but I completely agree with your points. The fragrance works because the original Amber Aoud is such a solid base. AAAP feels sweeter and more rounded, with the animalic notes toned down, which was actually the opposite of what I expected. You should definitely give it a few more tries in different weather to fully appreciate the differences. It’s very much a French interpretation of oud, just like the rest of his line. I can't imagine a skanky oud selling well at €900 for 30ml, though! I own a full bottle of this, but there’s no way I’d pay retail either. Still, as a collector, I hate missing out on those rare ones! Btw, i would love to get your opinion on Clive Christian Cypress! Congrats on the 10k!!!
ramsey i tested the older brown liquid amber aoud absolut presioux and the top is pure saffron for half an hour, it gives that ambery illusion with its warm and golden profile but if you smell persian saffron you get it instantly.

I really like Amber Aoud, it is classy and smooth, such an elegant scent. In my top 10 from the house. Never tried the precieux, but the original is good, great use of the fig note, I like the animalics, the rose is beautiful. Nice creation! Cheers!
I recently read an old perfume article on Roja Dove from 2010, which reviewed his early releases and it had a price list attached for Roja at Harrods and his 100ml EDP bottles were only £75!!😯... then he proceeded to add a zero on the end! 😂

Moresque Emiro is the closest I have found for cheaper But if it was me I would rather own something like Russian Oud or Oud Zhen But they are impossible to find lol

Great breakdown of this perfume, and thanks for the honest review! I do think this one was just a pure cash grab when it was first released. If anyone likes this DNA, the regular version offers more value and is cheaper. Yet the entire Roja oud line feels way overpriced, even by today’s standards, not worth it imo. Cheers!

SOTN: LV Ombre nomade Enjoying this new pick up if this really good leathery smoky rose oud Also since roja doesn't know who I am I can clearly say there's absolutely no real oud in these fragrances but nothing but accords.
That's would be my guess too but I still wouldn't say that publicly unless you put it through a GCMS test... it might have 0.000000001 % oud They could stir it with an oud stick and claim oud! 😂😂😂

I’m sure there’s no Real Oud in there… Used to own all versions of Amber Aoud , now don’t own any ! And tbh there’s not much difference in terms of performance with both versions either . Abs Precieux was a total rip off and it was 795£ for the 30ml ! Also I do think it leans rather feminine for my taste ! My wifey enjoys it though , glad it got the axe 🪓 When I visited Dubai and asked for the Precieux version , the salesperson told me it’s actually a 70% concentration which was “Absolue B.S” ! There’s no way it’s 70% ! I’m a huge fan of Diaghilev , Fetish , Great Britain , Danger (Heritage) and Haute Luxe ! He knows everything about Chypres 💯 Doesn’t know a thing about REAL OUD !
The First Time ever i have Encountered with Amber was with this Perfume Called Davidof Hot water ,it's Hot Spicy Aromatic Warm and Cool at the same time but the Base notes of Amber ,like it's collaborator Givenchy Xeryus Rouge but the Difference is Xeryus is more Citrusy and there are literally No Scents on the Base note to give the Perfume a better longevity but in other Hand Davidof Hot water got this Warm Comfortable long lasting Scent of Amber which makes it a better choice is a very fair cheap price . that's how Amber Works on the Different Perfumes but with same DNA .and that's how i fall in love with Amber . thu i looked at your channel ,Zero mentions of Davidof Brand their Cool Water is Quite Famous
I have mentioned Davidoff a lot on the channel, just never Hot Water as I have never smelled it, but I mentioned The Original Davidoff Davidoff from 84 & Zino from 86 all the time
