What a great series, thoroughly enjoyed watching, thank you. Was relieved you beat the bug Steph, much respect to your endurance to keep going, can’t have been easy 👍🏻 Those Hondas are great little bikes 👍🏻
Thanks so much for your lovely comment. We’re so sorry any the late reply, we’re travelling and have been put off comms for a while Hopefully you’ll enjoy what’s coming up on the channel 🎉
Really enjoyed watching this while I'm away with my family caravaning in Devon. Bought my 300 rally in March and I haven't hit the 600 mile service yet ( I ride two road bikes also), but life sometimes gets in the way. This has definitely inspired me to at least have a go at the Welsh part of the UK ACT ( I live in Wales) and hopefully the ice breaker challenge ( think that's what it's called) over the winter. Please keep the videos coming and ride safe lovely people👌
Hopefully the Devon holiday is going well The little Hondas are perfectly suited to the UK ACT and as you live in glorious Wales anyway you should definitely have a look at the route. We enjoyed it, Steff enjoyed the ruts more than Simon! Thanks for commenting 😊 S&S
Wonderful trails. And the weather gods were with you in the end. Thanks for taking us along, great series. Counting the months until my ACT Portugal in December. Cheerio, Günter/Nürnberg
What a wonderful treat to follow along your journeys. Amazing views. I feel so lucky that you guys brought us along for the ride. Can’t wait for future adventures. Best to you both.
Great finish guys, loved that series, brought back memories! 🤩 Although, I suspect a lot of changes to the ACT! A lot of day 3 and 4 I didn’t recognise, as well as river crossing from day 2 and a couple of big hill climbs 👀🤔 Look forward to more 👏🍻
What a fabulous series. I've binge watched the whole lot!! We have tracks like this over here in NZ, most with locked gates, so it really comes down to exploring and finding them. You both seem to be very easygoing people, and that comes out in your content. It makes watching your videos a delight. I look forward to your next installments and your next adventures. Happy riding.
That’s brilliant to hear! We love that you enjoyed the series so much, thanks for letting us know 😊 We’d absolutely love to ride and explore NZ it is at the top of our bucket list. Portugal was a fun place to explore, perhaps slightly pipped at the post by the Pyrenees in our previous series. That was one of our favourite areas to ride so far Loads happening this year so we really hope you enjoy what’s coming up! S&S
A fab series of videos showing all the highs and lows of traveling, and pleased to hear your alpine star 7 boots creek as much as mine 😂 look forward to your next adventures lovely people. Ride safe 👍
Your comment about the boots really made me laugh! They have continued to get louder and louder over time. Currently in Scandinavia riding the TET (videos imminent) and the boots have become horrific! A Norwegian guy showed me a trick to spray dry chain lube into the hinge! WOW game changer. Only needs one application and no more embarrassing boots 😂
Fabulous series. I think I said when I first came across your channel that I love your laid back way of doing these trips, and that keeps shining through. Looking forward to the next series. Well done
Thank you, we really appreciate your comment, we’re building up such a community of really lovely people! We’ve got a short break (only a week or two while Simon frantically edits and also preps for Africa 😂) and a new series will be up Hopefully we’ll keep growing this lovely community! Cheers S&S
This is turning into quite the game of "find the landmarks Simon and Steff visit on Google Maps and Street View" - found your windmill at co-ords 37.408340, -7.867600, visible on Street view from where the ACT trail crosses the paved road, and abandoned village at 37.306091, -7.886659; the cute village of Castelão that I could only identify by its aerial pictures... Absolutely fantastic series, the footage is excellently put together. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride.
@@wanderinghonda7963 Well, you said it was visible for miles on the trail and when I found it from its aerial shape, I noticed there was a paved road nearby, so I went to street view to see if I could see it from there. Figured if I could see it anywhere, it'd be from the direction you were approaching from. Dumped the little yellow man right where the ACT crosses the tarmac. 😃
Congratulations on successful completion if this ACT. The seemingly endless dusty track to the coast is a lot better than a half as long cold greasy mud track! 😂. What a grand way to end the series. You both looked awesome riding in all dusty through the clean town at the coast. Like cowboys returning from a cattle drive. I do love your style of video and what all you put into it. Positive and brightens my day. I know it takes a lot of extra (unseen) time to get the scenes and edit them together to make the video flow. Keeps getting better and better. I have to say Steff has the high fashion look going on with the red shirt/white lettering, white helmet, and blue backpack, pants, and black boots 13:22 in unison with the beautiful appeal of the CRF Rally. QUESTION: I was surprised to not see other riders or vehicles on this decent section of trail. Did you pass anyone? Thank you for education on the wonderful tracks in Portugal. So...Tanzania??? Wow, did a doubletake on that! Looking forward to all your future adventures. Peace, Ride Safe, ❤
Thanks for the comments! Brilliant that you remarked on Steffs red jersey. She isn’t sure she likes it but I think it really matches the plucky little Honda 😊 We really appreciate the comment about the time it takes to film and edit. We mostly enjoy it (it’s occasionally a chore when things get tough but not often) but you are right, it’s is a surprisingly big time waster 😂 We were surprised at how deserted those final tracks were as well. Even though we were definitely entering more populated areas we didn’t see anyone else on the trails. It was heaven! We really hope you enjoy the various series we’ve got coming up this year. So much fun riding left to do! Cheers 🍻 S&S
Thanks! There’s only a weeks or so break and hopefully the next series will be up 😊 Frantically editing while trying to get the Africa stuff sorted 😂 Thanks for the lovely comment and really appreciate you following along! S&S
A wonderful adventure and thanks for sharing with us. I have to admire your navigational skills. Portugal looks such an inviting country along the ACT. Birdsong along the way reminded me of what it used to be like here before urbanisation struck us. I've grown up believing England is the best place to live but I question that now. Ok we do have an ACT but so many of our rights of way have been restricted discriminating against trail riding and vehicular access. Sadly many are now overgrown and ruined. Testament to your Honda travelling companions making it all possible. Cheers.
We try to stay positive and do our best to always look at the bright side but unfortunately we agree with you. Our rights of way are now so restricted that we’re all funnelled into very small areas in the UK and that doesn’t help the condition of the lanes. There’s also, sadly, a small number of people who just cause problems with really anti social behaviour and no consideration for other trail users. It hurts us all in the end On the plus side Steff and I rode the UK ACT (it’s on the channel) and it reminded us how gorgeous some parts of the UK are Thanks for watching the series and hopefully you’ll enjoy the upcoming stuff as well after a very short break 😊
Thank you for sharing your great adventure. I might be heading that way in a group of 3 1960's Land Rover next year so it was very enjoyable research! Best of luck on your future travels.
That sounds like it’s going to be an awesome adventure. A group of 1960s land Rovers should provide plenty of mechanical entertainment! So glad you enjoyed the series thanks for watching, Hopefully you’ll enjoy some of the upcoming series, they may tempt further travels in those of amazing land Rovers 😊
@@wanderinghonda7963 Oh yes, there's lots of rest breaks for "repairs!" We've driven the Nurburgring, crisscrossed the Alps, driven the length of the Pyrennes and expolored Northern Spain so far but sadly I don't have the camera skills to share it on here. There's some amazing videos by a group called Team Faff on here who originally inspired us though and well worth a watch. I'll look out for your future trips. Happy travels 👍
Thankyou so much for sharing, been the best series to watch, im sad its over too! the adversity only adds to the adventure and i am still looking for those happy pills you both must be taking each day. You two are the original lovely people! So looking forward to your upcoming adventures. Thankyou again.
Thank you so much, and thanks for watching the series. I’m not sure you’d be searching for our happy pills if you saw Steph hungry or Simon tired. The pills don’t work very well then 😊 There is going to be a tiny break, only a week or so before the next series starts, we’re up to our eyeballs in Africa preparation at the minute ! 🎉
well done awesome job , If your down this way South West & want some filming done get in touch & i do know some great food stops , look forward to the next series 👍
Lovely offer, thank you! We rode some of the TET down there and when we manage to find the time to edit we’ll do a mini series. You can tell us all the places we missed!
Enjoyed the series. Would you suggest Portugal or Pyrenees for a solo crf rider ( probably the same skill level as yourselves!). I'm wondering which would be the easier and therefore safer for solo riding.
That was good timing, you just caught us turning off the computer after some editing 😊 We would say the Pyrenees. The scenery is utterly spectacular and the tracks wonderful. They are slightly easier then the Portuguese tracks in our opinion Both are amazing though. Whichever one you choose you’ll have an ace time! S&S
No, we’ll take motorway or autobahn etc if we absolutely have to but if it’s not essential we’ll take smaller roads and accept a slightly longer transit. We didn’t want to subject people to endless hours of filming road riding so we made a decision to not film the way home (it’s also really nice to have a break from filming at some stage on a trip!)
