the mod is meant to be a kind of spiritual successor to Peace's Like Us, since that previous mod features a similar premise (but without the math invasion) where Black Mesa and the Xen aliens are allies and work together (both mods also feature a similar sequence where you end up in a strange other world with transparent enemies) another interesting tidbit that I discovered through the mods end credits, is that most of the architecture in the other world was directly based on designs made by the 18th century French architect Claude Nicolas Ledoux, its most obvious in the second area you get teleported too which is almost an exact copy of one of Ledoux's designs (specifically "Project for the ideal city of Chaux: House of supervisors of the source of the Loue"), right down to the two little shacks with waterwheels! (side note: as I was writing this, I went to check that I got the amount of water wheels right, and I noticed that the maps featuring Ledoux's designs are actually called ks_mop_ledoux1 and 2!) I think Koumei Satou's mods are some of my all time favourites, both in concept and execution
@@snesbagel oh 2 other things 1. according to comments under the uploads of the mods ost, some of the music in the mod is inspired by the soundtrack to the film Koyaanisqatsi 2. 1:45 I didn't realise you could use the gravity gun on those mines, that makes that section a whole lot easier (when I played the mod I got past them by hiding in the rooms while they exploded)
Hey man i just found your channel and your videos are great. It's a shame such an original creator as you isn't more known. I hope you continue doing interesting videos like this
