What I expected when I clicked on this vid: a video about how someone speed ran super Mario sunshine pretty fast
What I got: an espn 30 for 30 with intrigue and health drama, perfectly conveyed and edited
I did a double take when I scrolled through the comments and saw there were only 13! The amount of informational SMS speed running videos is scarce on youtube, so the views will come! You have the personality and the quality, just keep doing great my dude. :)
That said, AverageTrey has the absolute best video going over the History of SMS. Plus he's one of the best runners.

This video features a lot of interesting narrative that clearly took good effort to organize in a digestible viewing experience. If you think it's that easy, I highly recommend you look into becoming a documentarian.

Are you saying you would rather go through all the speed run archives and try to learn this whole process yourself, or would you want to watch a video made by someone that summarizes it all for you with added visuals and an easy to follow narrative
I'm not really into speedrunning but the way you present your videos makes it feel like I'm listening to the story of passionate artists striving to be the best they can be and it makes for a really entertaining and exciting time. I also really like seeing and hearing the live reactions of runners reaching their goals. So far I've already watched this, a Luigi's Mansion video, and an Ocarina of Time video and I gotta say I love the content.
Damn, that was a real GOAT move by not only breaking the 1:14:00 barrier before the competition, but breaking it so hard the competition collectively shat themselves.
I went into the video without seeing the view count and came out expecting to see a couple hundred thousand considering the content quality. Really great stuff, I'm sure you'll get more traction if you keep it up🙂

There's something really endearing about watching several Sunshine record anthologies over the years by various speed runners and seeing everyone reference and talk about each other. Makes it feel like a giant frat house where everyone knows everyone else and they're all right down the hall. Great video, man.

As somebody who is not part of the speedrunning community this is a phenomenal video. Watching this legitimately felt like an anime or something, the narration was great, I learned a lot, and I'm so glad Nindeddeh could finally reach the goal he had set out for so long ago. It really makes you think, how would the run look now if he hadn't had health issues? If he had kept improving for three years? Hopefully, we'll find out in the near future. And you, my good sir, have earned a sub.

Yes except for the fact that there's going to have to be new categories considered the new versions for the switch have most of the glitches taken out there is no more clipping through certain barriers or the backwards long jump
@@theshadowking9626 I don't see the Switch version getting ran widely. It's basically just an emulated version, and it has input lag galore from what I've heard.

What a story. I knew Nindiddeh had enormous skill and health problems, but I didn't understand the scope of either. Absolute lad.
Videos like this are crucial for the advancement of speedrunning as a part of gaming culture, I think. Providing context and telling the stories that rise from the cacophony is important. A story like this makes you want to be there for the next one, to be able to say that you saw it happen live.

Honestly I have to say, not knowing the actual current state of the scene makes these "speedrunning history" videos all the more tense and fun to watch, when you showed that final bowser fight from Nindiddeh I was at the edge of my seat, litterally didn’t know if he was going to choke or not

It's competitive and yet pretty friendly. The speedrunners share knowledge and tactics, and it's generally a "may the best runner win" situation.
