  • In this episode of Another Hard Day At The Office Antti Guttorm and Tuomas Rytkönen are fishing in mid March for brown trout with still snow all around. The guys hit the first stonefly hatch of the year when the February Red stoneflies start to crawl to the shore to hatch. These stoneflies are called sumukorento or sumari in Finnish. Dry fly fishing after a long and cold winter is fishing at its best.

    Great video to watch again on this winter. Maybe you can help Bucovina region în România. Bucovina is one of the most beautiful places in Romania. River Moldova and River Suceava are two rivers from Romania with great fish population and great fishing opportunities, traditions and traditional food, some ideas from your team maybe can help this beautiful rivers and places or fishing tourism in this area. A few people are trying to fight to preserve and stock these rivers with native trout and graylings. Take care of yourself.

      @@Visionflyfishing Hey friends - can we get the English translation for Kalaonea? I have consulted some Finn's here in the Yukon and they say it is "good fishing" or "fish well".

    • @Visionflyfishing
      @Visionflyfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@h2otroutfitter278 yes that's quite accurate. Straight translation means fishing luck. So as in wishing good luck for fishing. And as in many cultures you should never wish good luck for fishing in Finland. The correct term would be Kireitä Siimoja. Which means tight lines. But in our close circle we jokingly always say KALAONNEA for our friends. And as we see all of our followers as our close circle we feel we can say kalaonnea to you guys.
      Long explanation but to sum it up. For a stranger you should say KIREITÄ SIIMOJA. For your friends you can say KALAONNEA.

    Nice video, good product presentation. I like this long version of ahdato.
    My question is, what HERO rod do you recommend for single dry and these conditions. The banks are overgrown with dense vegetation. Width of the river is 20 meters, max 30.

    • @Visionflyfishing
      @Visionflyfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like a place for the Dry Hero 8' #4. Could go even up to 9' #5 because of the size of the river.

    I can see that you are using the #6 (16g) hybrid body to the #7 Coastal Hero. Whats the reason for using the 16g instead of the #7(19g) Hybrid body?
    Is it to make it more versitile and promote both overhand and underhand casting?
    I own the Coastal Hero and are planing to use the Hybrid but not sure which one to choose.

    • @Visionflyfishing
      @Visionflyfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is exactly why Ryde chose to use the 16g body.
      We have updated our recommendation chart for the Hybrid bodies. Now you can see the WF recommendation for single handed rods. This recommendation is perfect for overheadcasting. So for #7 Coast you can go down to 10g for overhead casting. And everything between 10g and 19g will work depending how heavy you want it to be. Heaviest one is good for skagit casting. 16g is good as a light skagit and spey casting. 13g is the most versatile one.

    Great video as always guys!
    The new HERO rods and reels family looks really promising and I'm really eager to get my hands on these!
    Is there any chance to provide the reel weights on your website??? It would be very helpful!!!

    How does the hero nymph compare to the nymphmaniac is it more an entry level version or improved.
    I was going to buy a new rod next week and to find the hero now has left me confused which one to get.

    • @Visionflyfishing
      @Visionflyfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jim and sorry about the delay. Nymphmaniac is a bit more sensitive and lighter. But Hero is absolutely awesome as well and offers probably the best value for the money on the market as far as nymphing rods. It's also a bit more powerful than Nymphmaniac.

    I am looking for a 10ft 4# for dry fly fishing my local river in Derbyshire England. We are not allowed to Wade so extra length is helpful. It’s a limestone river and very clear so 4# about as heavy as I want to go. Would your hero nymph fit the bill or is it primarily a nymphing rod with softer action.

    • @Visionflyfishing
      @Visionflyfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Doug. It's nymphing rod but many people use nymphing rods also with dries. 10ft is good choice if you tend to use lot of dries.
