The Hold function combined with a looper on the DD-3 is one of my favourite things. Strum a chord, press hold after a short wait so the attack gets cut off, then loop. Every time I try to move onto any other delay I end up coming back to the Boss. Love them.
It's awesome. The Hold and Looper on the DD3 actually remind me of a Chase Bliss MOOD... Quite different really but definitely share some of the same vibes
Just bought a DSD-3 off the back of this video. Loving it so far! I initially I thought that I had a faulty pedal as it was 'poping" and heavily clipping the sound in the effects loop. I found some similar posts mentioning the same problem for DD-2's and they need to run in front of the amp, not in the loop, or you need an amp that allows the adjustment of the level for the loop. I now have it connected after my Over Drive and Distortion going into my amp and it's working perfectly. Sounds amazing used in conjunction with Chorus, Reverb and a second Delay in the loop.
Nice video. you forgot to talk mention the Trigger function. That it's, from my perspective, the deal-breaker between the DSD-2/DSD-3 and the DD-2/DD-3. Cheers
The DSD series are great delay pedals but the trigger input paired with a drum machine is the real secret sauce with this pedal. Unique and custom patterns triggered when and how you want them

I use dsd2&3 never touch dd2 or 3 at all
Is there another way to trigger the sample, other than pressing on it?

Just won a DSD-3 in very good condition! minty! on ebay for 95 pounds! or I could have got a DSD-2 for 120 in crap condition :)
