I too am glad for that, and Dan is teasing Mick's ocd with his scratchy volume control, lol. Great playing, nice to see a guitar player not pluck the bass strings hard like a guitar player usually does. :)
Exceptional video! The band segments looked and sounded especially fantastic. 3D sound and vision, I felt like I was in the room. These band (context) segments take it to the next level. I appreciate the time and effort you take to deliver such a quality product. Cheers!!!
Genius. So great to see and *hear* real-life , in-band applications of these effects we love so much. And incidentally, that Gold Top into the ODR-1 and BD2 combo (into these 2 amps), with or without delay…Pure. Unadulterated. Magic. Also - Mick’s shoes rock. That is all.
YES! Love it. The best TPS videos have Dan yelling “YEAH!!!!” so loud the amp (& drum) mics hear him. Great content, super helpful, and Doug is awesome!
As someone who has a side-nerd-love for rockabilly and that vibe, hearing Mick with that hollow body and the slap back with the band brought a HUGE smile to my face
I've been watching for a long time, but I had no idea Mick could play like that. So much touch. So much feel. So much soul. Really really enjoyed that.
Hey, super cool episode today! I think you nailed the format this time around - first illustrating the sound and then applying it to the band context, in short examples. Awesome tones and great playing from everybody. Shout out to Doug for holding down the fort and allowing us to get these episodes.
These episodes are instant favorites. Immensely enlightening and tons of fun. Can't wait to take a few of these tweaks for a spin! Also: big ups to The Freshness, as Dougie's American fans know him. We tried calling him "D-Dawg" but it was maybe a bit too yoga-centric, and "Adho Mukha Shvanasana" seemed a mouthful.
Fantastic video, love the format and whilst I enjoy just listening to the two of you noodling away, the reality is context is everything and demonstrating these principles and sounds in a way that makes them applicable is so valuable. Great job lads.
Yaaaaassssss! Finally! This has been on my wanted list for so long. Getting at least a dozen views from me alone, this! And Dan, that Buckley intro made every hair on the back of my neck stand on end. Love you guys!

Loved the entire show, but man alive, Dan's feeling on the long delay jam was just out of this world!! Cheers, mates!!!
This episode is making my trek from Acoutic guitar to eletric less stressful. I play mostly in church and the last jam is very close the style we play in. I'm using an analog delay... because right now I have to go direct into the pa. But we are playing around with smaller t amps on the side to see if we can make it work...even the keyboard player. Our pastor seems to dig it. He reminds us often that our church has a lot of former 'Dead Heads' in it and to not be afriad of getting a little loud. Thanks so much guys... I will be shareing this one with the team.
Use a simplifier instead of an amp. Build a good board to go with it. Keep stage volume to a minimum. It really helps. Let the sound guy take of the rest as long as he/she is good at what they do! Take it from a "dead head" who plays in church and loves loud. I routinely run our service at or around 100db and it sounds amazing
I love, love, love, _LOVE_ the new _In Your Band_ series, guys. Now you can go back in time and select all the gold in the same context. I'm holding out for the "How to use ring modulation and octave fuzz in love ballads" episode. That'll be gold. BTW, Mick, I noticed you lads hit 108 dB on the meter with the Casino and not even a hint of howl. That suggests a band at reasonable volumes can easily get away with a hollow body in the mix. Nice to see I have another excuse to buy a guitar. "But, honey! I need ALL the TONEZ!" 🤣☺️
The dual head “c” setting on the El Cap is my current favorite “always on” setting for my guitar. Have very few repeats with a more slap back feel but it adds saturation, ambience and texture. This is your best video yet guys!!! Love the jams!
You 3 are such experienced players, these arrangements/performances allow everyone space. I'm reminded that what we don't play can be as important as what we do play. You 3 are great listeners too. Lots of lessons lie hidden in these performances. Truly inspiring!
Thank you Rob, that's very kind of you to say! You make pretty much the ENTIRE point of sounding okay as a band: listen and play together. 90 per cent of tone 'problems' are solved right there. Cheers!
Great playing gents!! Dan’s face of pure joy when playing bass. You guys are super tight as a band and the. There was the tones and playing as always. Loved it Gents!!
I love Micks' rendition of Slayers' Seasons in the Abyss with the 4 head delay... Seriously though, such an inspirational episode as always. Will go straight home and fiddle with my delay pedals after watching this. Well done lads!!
Round 1 - doubling: My DD-7 is always-on for this, but with a slightly longer delay. Round 2 - slap back: Very well played, Mick! Round 3 - multi-head: YEAH! This is where the Gilmour in us comes out. Round 4 - long 1.5 delay: Yes! Used to hate delay, but this is awesome for lead. Round 5 - dotted eights: All hail the mighty Dougie! Also, very well played, Dan! Flawless timing by all of you! Round 6 - massively long delays: Very cool, but it takes a Dan to pull it off :-)
Wow, Dan, that last playing section was absolutely freaking awesome. Absolutely incredible. I loved, well, all of that. The rest of the show was amazing aswell. Can't wait for more shows like this, it was that perfect blend between sitting and chatting about pedals, and putting them into context.
Great great show. One of the most musical and useful in the long history of TPS. Waited years for the “in the mix” sounds. can’t wait to see more in this style. It’s both a return to a simple and instructive show, but also a massive technical challenge I’m sure. Thanks guys for continuing to push yourselves to do challenging stuff.
This series you guys are doing with a band situation is just fantastic! I’m off to try my first tele and first vintage spec guitar at the same time! Dan would be proud! American vintage 52 re
Love Mick´s Lead Tone with the ES at 25:57... Awesome playing and phrasing. Great Call and response. The ODS 1 and the the Blues Driver stack really well
Enjoyable episode. Really handy for people new to a delay pedal. I know what a bugger it is when you get a scratchy pot. And such a shame that the other guitars you guys have were broken too! Uncanny! Love you chaps. ; )
That was freaking great!! I struggle with delay and this was immensely helpful. I realize now I am being too heavy handed because I am mainly playing with backing tracks right now due to Covid and my own health issues. Dialed it back and the tones came back. Love love love this format. Thanks again guys!
Excellent episode, very real world. I love that DD-200 and Nobles. Just mint. You guys are awesome, thank you for sharing with us all your brilliantness!
Thanks is to Dan Iv found a new passion to guitars, purchased 2 teles this month & they are AMAZING, (strat Guy all my life since 7 early 40s now) dans opening playing is amazing lately we’ve noticed an enhanced feel!! wtg gentleman!!! Stay legendary!!!!
I have a BOSS DD-200 and it really is amazing, so versatile in that the settings I mainly use are not even mentioned in your vid. The SHIMMER, PAD and TERO echo settings create an abundance of ambient accents and reverberating resonances. And plugging in a footswitch can let you hold the sound (the last chord played) or even do that WARP or TWIST effect which can add a great touch now and then.
I bought a line 6 echo pro 20 years ago and Im still actively trying to learn to use it, this video is already helping me to get more use out of it, thanks.
I know how hard it is to make quality stuff. And you make high quality stuff. I just want to take a second to tip my hat to just how far you are pushing TPS. Keep it up team! Best on the net.
OMG what a fantastic and inspriing episode. You all played like masters and it was so glorious. Thank you so much. I want a whole album of these jams. Fantastic!!! I am trying not to complain that the show is not more than an hour. Love you boys.
I love all of your videos, but this is by far the best one I’ve seen in a long time. The look of sheer joy on Dan’s face when slappin’ the bass makes it that much better! Gonna try out some of those settings on my DD-200 now
Cool new direction, guys. It's good stuff. Sincerely. From the bottom of my heart, you guys deserve 4x the subscribers and monthly views, based on the quality of both entertainment and information. Cheers, from Virginia!
Thank you Oddity. This far in we’re kinda aware that we’re an acquired taste because the content isn’t all cheap gear and easy fixes. It requires a little more concentration and engagement and not a lot of people have that. We are thrilled the TPS community is a smaller bunch of such humans. Thank you for being here!
I really like the combination of the pedals on their own and then in the band context. It provides a much wider learning scope and path. Thank you kindly gentlemen.
I genuinely think these are some of the best guitar sounds you've had on the show in all the years I've been an avid listener, and all with easily access gear! I don know what it was like in the room but it's sound banging through cans! Love it! Cracking episode. Top Friday night viewing!
I’ve never liked a slapback delay sound when I’m playing guitar by myself…but hearing it in a band context has revealed how it benefits the tone! Thanks guys 😁
A most illuminating episode. Especially liked ‘Really Long Delay With Band’, and noticed that by accident or design the tempo fairly quickly settled on 60bpm, same as the delay time.
Having just brought a Timeline, this video has a treasure chest of great ideas on how to incorporate the delay into our set lists! And once the G3 arrives, I am off to the races. So great to see you guys playing with the ideas presented
These "band" episodes are flippin' BRILLIANT!! YES! THIS is what I need to understand! One on Chorus and Flange and stereo vs mono inna band setting would be awesome. Especially since you guys love wet/dry and stereoesque stuff while most people say it washes out and is useless. Even JHS says "I hate stereo".
That long delay would be awesome for a sad, sorrowful theme! Love these vids. Really glad that you make them about the sound and effects, and to advertise how good you are.
Wow I have never tried the double tracking trick before with my delay. My new favorite sound! Thank you so much for putting the extra effort into making these episodes!!
I love how you guys are getting back to your roots, with instructive content and with accessible gear that most of us can relate to. So good!
Hear hear, and bring back Pick n Mix!
Yeah true. Bring an OCD into the mix too.
I too am glad for that, and Dan is teasing Mick's ocd with his scratchy volume control, lol. Great playing, nice to see a guitar player not pluck the bass strings hard like a guitar player usually does. :)
Keep showing the best gear and the smart gear that aint painful expensive. Both worlds have tone gems. Love the show since day one.
+1 from me! I saw the contents by timestamp and thought hell yeah, we're doing practical TPS
I have to say, Mick’s playing during the examples was amazing! The slap back example on the Casino was jaw dropping.
Thank you Alexander!
coupled with Dan's bass playing
Is this the Ying to Dans' Tele Yang?
This. Plus Dan beaming in that one while grooving away on the bass was wholesome content 🥹😄
This episode style needs to continue. Fantastic playing and perfect mixing, I felt like I was there with you guys.
Thanks so much Johnny! We really want to do more of this stuff. Sooooo much to talk about and demo. :0)
I couldn’t agree more- this way of incorporating a band context is soooo helpful! The Pedal Show Band returns with… fill in the sound
Exceptional video! The band segments looked and sounded especially fantastic. 3D sound and vision, I felt like I was in the room. These band (context) segments take it to the next level. I appreciate the time and effort you take to deliver such a quality product. Cheers!!!
Thanks so much Rob!
Genius. So great to see and *hear* real-life , in-band applications of these effects we love so much.

Thank you! SOooo much fun!
Loving the comedy at the beginning but the context of this show today is spot ON
GoD BLESS the pedal show ! ! thanks for all info lost sheep.... Super nice Jam. getting & KIND REGARDS! from Dominican Republic Santo Domingo!
I've been watching for a long time, but I had no idea Mick could play like that. So much touch. So much feel. So much soul. Really really enjoyed that.
Covers - Pink floyd and Animals as Leaders.
I came for the delay, and stayed for That Dougie Show - always appreciate what he adds
Hey, super cool episode today! I think you nailed the format this time around - first illustrating the sound and then applying it to the band context, in short examples. Awesome tones and great playing from everybody.
Shout out to Doug for holding down the fort and allowing us to get these episodes.
Mick had the rockabilly thing in full force - great tone, just amazing. The band is just drumhead tight. What a treat!
Thanks Chris 🙏
Yaaaaassssss! Finally! This has been on my wanted list for so long. Getting at least a dozen views from me alone, this!
And Dan, that Buckley intro made every hair on the back of my neck stand on end.
Love you guys!

Worship leader here. Try a Strymon Iridium. Worth it.
Huge thumbs up for "in a band" type videos / tutorials, would love many of this type of videos.
I really dig the band context, always fun to see people jamming together : )
No doubt... NO... BLOOMIN'..... DOUBT.... One of the very, very best TPS to date.. Totally storming, guys
Man you guys sounds great together. Amazing how much some drums add. I need a living room drummer lol.
These jams sound great don't they - I think just bass and drums leave so much room to improvise...., particularly with delay! 🙂
Search youtube you can find backing tracks to play along to.
@@victormaniaci2104 Right will it make me sound good lol?
Dudes! This is a true gem as to why delay is such a BIG thing. Thanks and please, moar of these!!! Awesome playing to everyone really!
These videos demonstrating the effects in a mix are brilliant. Really informative and also a great way to show off your fantastic playing.
Thanks Matt! Both Dan and I need to actually play a bit more to keep our brains in relatively good shape. It’s great to be almost making music again!
It's great to hear joy and elation, two emotions that are desperately needed in the world in the present moment.
We feel you Patrick. Small numbers of humans and a bit of music. Whodathought it could be soooo easy!
I got to add Dan really killed it on this video. Really enjoyed his playing.
I love, love, love, _LOVE_ the new _In Your Band_ series, guys. Now you can go back in time and select all the gold in the same context. El Cap is still so good it's ridiculous.
That Casino sounds bloody awesome. Love these band based show formats, really interesting - keep up the great work chaps!
Thank you! It’s turned into a corker of a guitar with the new pups. :0)
Great episode. Great episode. Great episode. Great episode…
Refreshing. The format, I mean. Even though my musical taste is different, I enjoy listening. Good playing, gents!
Thank you Sven!
It's the 'Yeah!' that gets picked up in the room/drum mics that takes you back to why we do this in the first place...
You guys deserve a cut of all DD200 sales after this video 😂 showed off the pedal brilliantly
You 3 are such experienced players, these arrangements/performances allow everyone space. I'm reminded that what we don't play can be as important as what we do play. You 3 are great listeners too. Lots of lessons lie hidden in these performances. Truly inspiring!
Dont playing in rythm in band context is pretty damn hard.
Thank you Rob, that's very kind of you to say! You make pretty much the ENTIRE point of sounding okay as a band: listen and play together. 90 per cent of tone 'problems' are solved right there. Cheers!
This makes so much fun to hear and see you playing guys.
Thank you very much and cheers!
When Mick hits the zone at around 20 minutes for Delay sound 3, I felt it. Excellent.
I had to check if my cd player was still playing...
Hahahahha!!!
I heard it too! I was waiting for Mick to go to the fast bit but it never went there… 😃
I was hearing tones from Black Sabbath's "Black Sabbath" right away.
Round 1 - doubling: My DD-7 is always-on for this, but with a slightly longer delay.
Round 2 - slap back: Very well played, Mick!

I really like how you show it in the band. It really makes the point. I’m probably getting one of those pedals.
You guys make a great combo with the drums and alternating bass! Some cool vibes going on! Thanks!
Thank you Sunil. In the end it was much simpler than I thought it would be. Few mics, have a hit, bit of mixing. Happy days!
The band demos are what made this video awesome. I think you guys should do more examples of band interaction to give context! Excellent work
This series you guys are doing with a band situation is just fantastic! I’m off to try my first tele and first vintage spec guitar at the same time! Dan would be proud! American vintage 52 re
Niiiiice!
Guitars, okay after all those years we expected such greatness. However, you guys are really nailing it on bass! I’m impressed.
great idea to play the settings in a band setting ! more of this ! thumbs up guys
Love Mick´s Lead Tone with the ES at 25:57... Awesome playing and phrasing. Great Call and response. The ODS 1 and the the Blues Driver stack really well

I don’t know if we all see the same ads, but the Bare Knuckle Polymath pickup ad shows that Nolly has some serious guitar chops as well as his bass
Oh man, he’s a KILLER player. :0)
I’m really digging the new format where you play in the band context!!! Putting things into full sonic context is the ultimate example!!! Thanks 🙏🏽
THank you Charles. We shall continue doing this!
Effing brilliant episode, chaps! Sterling playing. Hope we get to see/hear the three of you again soon.
That was freaking great!! I struggle with delay and this was immensely helpful. I realize now I am being too heavy handed because I am mainly playing with backing tracks right now due to Covid and my own health issues. Dialed it back and the tones came back. Love love love this format. Thanks again guys!
That last little jam was mmmm ... mmmm... good . Bravo
That song y’all jammed at 20 minutes was fantastic!! I’d buy that album
Thank you!
I LOVE that you include the band examples!!! please stick with it! :)

Awesome! Nice one Tony!
Thanks for years of great content, TPS!
The show is getting better with each part:. ) popcorn out. Doug is great

Got to get the Edge on here to demonstrate his style… great episode guys. I don’t know how you keep coming up with more great ideas but keep it it up!
I know how hard it is to make quality stuff. And you make high quality stuff. I just want to take a second to tip my hat to just how far you are pushing TPS. Keep it up team! Best on the net.
Ah, cheers mate 🙏
Dan’s intro piece in this video was absolutely beautiful. Great video, very useful info. Cheers!
Thanks David 🤓🙏
OMG what a fantastic and inspriing episode. You all played like masters and it was so glorious. Thank you so much. I want a whole album of these jams. Fantastic!!! I am trying not to complain that the show is not more than an hour. Love you boys.

Loved the rendition of Slayer’s ‘Seasons in the abyss’ at the 20 minute mark 😋👌
Mick's playing in the band context is really something else 👌👏👏👏
Thank you Rodrigo!
Your drummers timing is perfect. I really enjoy these band videos
I think this format works really well. Way to go guys!
Dougie McBuckets! And who knew Dan was such a natural bassist! Sounds great fellas.
Hands down, best tones I've heard on TPS. Great job guys.
THank you kindly!
Awesome as always! Big props to Dougie! Need a Stompio mug... please, please, please reissue that one!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cool new direction, guys. It's good stuff. Sincerely. From the bottom of my heart, you guys deserve 4x the subscribers and monthly views, based on the quality of both entertainment and information. Cheers, from Virginia!

Slapback Boogie was gorgeous. Great playing all around!
I genuinely think these are some of the best guitar sounds you've had on the show in all the years I've been an avid listener, and all with easily access gear! I don know what it was like in the room but it's sound banging through cans! Love it! Cracking episode. Top Friday night viewing!
THanks so much Joseph!
Wow I really like this format of being the band in …. Just Bass and Drums to show the “real” effect of these effects pedals ! Brilliant!
Just what I needed today! Have a great weekend guys 👍🏻
That Echo Rec jam…. Ugh. Sooooo good!
Yeah baby! Trying to channel Syd and David. Ended up somewhere else. Ha!
I’ve never liked a slapback delay sound when I’m playing guitar by myself…but hearing it in a band context has revealed how it benefits the tone! Thanks guys 😁
Awesome, nice one SImon!
love this concept
doted 8 delay with a band hit a spot for me. good shit guys
Loving the "with the band situation" it really explains a lot. Its a revalation, Thanks..
A most illuminating episode. Especially liked ‘Really Long Delay With Band’, and noticed that by accident or design the tempo fairly quickly settled on 60bpm, same as the delay time.
Great practical video.
Also great to see the odr-1 getting so much love
Mick killed that second rockabilly type jam part. Booyah!
Man, What a great channel. You two do a fantastic job. Never stop.
Thanks so much Matthew!
That's why this channel is the best!
Great playing all round here! Mick your solo on the tape setting 24:50 was exceptional, a masterclass in taste, melodic development and grit.
You guys are fun, knowledgeable, and really good musicians. Love hearing a rhythm section. Been watching for a few years now.
Man I loved that last jam with the really, really long delay! It was a lovely combo of Bill Frissel and David Gilmour! Well done lads, great video!
Thanks Wes 🙏
The backing band really brings out the best in Mick.
Thanks Eric. Dan and Doug make it easy!
That long delay would be awesome for a sad, sorrowful theme!
Love these vids. Really glad that you make them about the sound and effects, and to advertise how good you are.
Should read "NOT to advertise how good you are".
Wow I have never tried the double tracking trick before with my delay. My new favorite sound! Thank you so much for putting the extra effort into making these episodes!!
As always, I come away from a TPS vid with something new to try. Slapback - turn down the effect and turn up the feedback. Genius.
Lovely lovely stuff gents. Love the videos as always, with great playing and great tones.
