I too was very pleased to hear about the inter Island ferry service ug I certainly will no travel on that boat
I have travelled on the ferry service between Trinidad and Tobago and the ferry service between the US Virgin Islands. These ferry services are long overdue between the Caribbean islands and South American continent. The sea between islands needs to become our modern highway. The only maintenance is to tĥe ferries and landing infrastructure.Good sea pollution control regulations in place, we could not have a better transportation system in the region to move goods and services, while generating avenues for more integrated economic development long overdue.
Excellent provided it's affordable and accessible. Just being nosy with my cheeky question, that's all. Is it owned by the Caribbean nations or the usual foreign collectors who pay us pea nuts in return? Keep shining⭐
I think it;s time we in the diaspora raise funds and invest in what we want, sometimes the low grade politicians are the impediments, as another reader said, the politicians do not want this as it competes with the airlines they have invested in. The politicians are our problem.
Yes that’s a great idea to have people in the diaspora invest back in the Caribbean. And the leaders of the Caribbean should make it easier and to give us tax breaks to invest back home
Good to hear of this ferry system. Let us hope the Governments simplify the rules to make it as easy to go between these places as it is to go from Canada to the USA or Madrid to Paris. I recall the Federal Palm and Federal Maple and hope they would return after the failure of the Federation. Better late than never, but I am surprised that it has taken more than 60 (so far).
As it concerns your last sentence, it's been decades because they did NOT want to do it....The part where you talked about hoping they will simplify the rules, will continue to be an uphill battle. To make matters WORSE those who have investments in that 'airline', even those linked to politicians, will be heavily against competition, that is affordable. Sorry to be pessimistic but....Just don't raise your hopes.
I am hopeful that it will work because I don’t think the ferry will really take away business from the airline plus Caribbean airlines don’t have the amount of planes they had 20 years ago
Yup, far too many cars especially SUVs on the small islands' * often narrow streets. Not to mention pollution, etc. Agreed. Surrounded by water that's not utilised enough. A lot of Caribbean ppl do not even swim. Time for a turnaround all around. These are exciting times.
if the price is $50/$100 less than the air fare im gonna still fly - we are talking about 24+hrs non stop sailing - if we can bring our vehicles , yes definitely ill take the trip - that is vibes
In Bermuda, people who use boats to go to work live on outlying islands in the harbour and sound....the one car per household is a bit relaxed now...Also the ferries are not utilized as they should be.
Driving shouldn’t be a problem because of international drivers license For example a Jamaican driver’s license will allow you to get an international driver authorization in Canada etc So it’s merely an internal discussion about recognizing international standards and vehicle safety records. Insurance might require other regulations or regional cooperation among providers
Would be great if we could also have really fast ferries (like those manufactured by Incat) operating between Belem in Brasil and ports in the 3 Guianas and islands of the Caribbean. That would give people of the Caribbean access to the super highways on eastern side of South America, which go as far as Argentina. Also needed are fast ferries operating between Georgetown, Berbice and the North West District. That new boat from India serving the Northwest is way too slow and was a very, very bad idea. It should be scrapped or returned with a refund demand. Time should not be wasted punishing on slow boats from India or whereever else.
this is way to long in the making we need this service way long ago we used to have the royal maple and the royal palm after them we have left with nothing we need not soon enough
Galleon's Passage is a total waste of time. I live in T&T and would never travel on that piece of junk. It is not even suitable for the run between Trinidad and Tobago.

Carib21netwotk let’s be real I’m positive as hell but realistic as hell too they both go hand in hand for me.Yes I would love to see Caribbean integration/unity and all those things but that’s talk because the Caribbean islands don’t unite on anything and it’s been that way before I was born and I’m 55 and even in 2025 it’s still talk it’s every man for himself so when it’s up and running come back and let me know because I’ve heard it all before that’s reality.
Jamaica 🇯🇲 is too far from the eastern Caribbean so I don’t think a ferry service would be possible with Jamaica involved. If Jamaica wants to be apart of a ferry service it would have to be with Cuba 🇨🇺 and Haiti 🇭🇹 because of the location

@carib21network Yes, the Canadian government gifted the West Indies Federation two merchant ships, The Federal Palm and The Federal Maple, in May 1961. The ships were a crucial link between the islands, visiting each island twice a month.

@@gameplugtv9000 But would Canadians want it ? The West Indian Federation fell apart because the bigger islands did not want to shoulder the weight of the smaller ones. Although it is said that once bitten twice shy it could probably work this time provided potentially wealthy Guyana agrees to it.

Back in the 80's after the American Invasion of Grenada, many ppl began smuggling weapons from Grenada to Trinidad via a private ferry ship, the Americans didn't find all the weapons after their military operations some ppl had stolen weapons and grenades ammunition etc, later they sold it to the Black Muslims who then used these weapons to try and overthrow the govt, plus Guyana's govt is an Indian Communist party with hopes of one day transforming Guyana Surinam and Trinidad into Indian dominated states via millions of "immigrants" from India, don't be fooled by Communist puppets in the media in Trinidad or Guyana many of them were trained in the ex- USSR in propaganda methods, Guyana's govt likes this "Ferry service" idea to send Indian Voters to Trinidad to VOTE for the corrupt Indian party in Trinidad which they've already done T&T ID cards are issued to Indian Guyanese who then go to Trinidad during election time to Vote for their race etc. Guyana's ruling Indian party is totally amoral and totally corrupt to the bone most of them are now local billionaires from stealing public funds same as in Trinidad.

My friend believe me you don't want to travel anywhere on the Galleons Passage not even to Tobago. I had the misfortune to travel to Tobago and our boat was cancelled,we were switched on to the Galleons Passage, it was the worst boat ride I ever had it is actually a river boat you can feel every wave that it goes through. I too was very pleased to hear about the inter Island ferry service ug I certainly will no travel on that boat
We need to find a way to invest in the latest boats
way to go,nice

Should have been a long long time ago best thing ever
Inter island Universal drivers license for people taking there vehicles to the different islands and have the insurance in cooperated with the license
Cool 😎 thank you for that information
Kind of like the EU does makes sense
I have travelled on the ferry service between Trinidad and Tobago and the ferry service between the US Virgin Islands. These ferry services are long overdue between the Caribbean islands and South American continent. The sea between islands needs to become our modern highway. The only maintenance is to tĥe ferries and landing infrastructure.Good sea pollution control regulations in place, we could not have a better transportation system in the region to move goods and services, while generating avenues for more integrated economic development long overdue.
Yea I agree with you 100%
The ferrys in Trinidad can hold 300 cars.
300 cars sounds a lot
@@carib21network yeah you can research it if you whant. 200 to 300 cars.
APT James 250 cars, T&T Spirit 200 cars, Buccoo Reef 182cars, Galleons Passage 60cars. Which ferry do we have that holding 300 cars??
@@dartagnanrobinson2831 my bad got confused. 250 is still plenty. When I took the ferry the office on board told me it could fit 300.
Excellent provided it's affordable and accessible. Just being nosy with my cheeky question, that's all. Is it owned by the Caribbean nations or the usual foreign collectors who pay us pea nuts in return? Keep shining⭐
I think it’s mostly funded by Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Grenada and St Vincent yeah😂😂😂❤.
Thank you for your continued support
Bruh get updated informarion...by the way do you know the cost of diesel. Ferry in TnT is cheap because its Govt. subsidized
Cheap is great
This is a very good move, and also they should work out something for when people would like to take their vehicles with them in terms of licenses.
I was told it is possible to take your car with you to another EC island 🏝️
if the price is $50/$100 less than the air fare im gonna still fly - we are talking about 24+hrs non stop sailing - if we can bring our vehicles , yes definitely ill take the trip - that is vibes
The ferry are much faster today. Taking the ferry from St Vincent to one of the Grenadines islands took 2 hours one way.
In Bermuda, people who use boats to go to work live on outlying islands in the harbour and sound....the one car per household is a bit relaxed now...Also the ferries are not utilized as they should be.
The ferry used to be full back in those days.
Long overdue,
🇧🇧🇹🇹🇬🇾
Driving shouldn’t be a problem because of international drivers license
For example a Jamaican driver’s license will allow you to get an international driver authorization in Canada etc
So it’s merely an internal discussion about recognizing international standards and vehicle safety records.
Insurance might require other regulations or regional cooperation among providers
Yea the drivers license is good and I was told that they have regional insurance

Thank you for joining the conversation
Galleon's Passage is a total waste of time. I live in T&T and would never travel on that piece of junk. It is not even suitable for the run between Trinidad and Tobago.
Is it that it’s too old?
See how it will go

Stillirise I’m talking about Caribbean unity the frigging entire region not just a part so prove me wrong 😅😢
I'm 55 and since I was born have been hearing of a ferry service between the Caribbean islands so this is pie in the sky until it actually is happening, talk is cheap because airfares are expensive to fly between other islands.Caribbean politicians aren't progressive just love to chat hot air and try to make themselves look smart but that's it 😭😂😥😅😪😀
I will keep you updated 🇹🇹🇧🇧🇬🇾
@@carib21network, Guyana and Grenada have Airlines traveling link two days per week.
Great idea sb for all the islands. Trade amongst ourselves. Forget/ignore the dumb naysayers!
Yep
When will Jamaica be included?
Jamaica 🇯🇲 is too far from the eastern Caribbean so I don’t think a ferry service would be possible with Jamaica involved. If Jamaica wants to be apart of a ferry service it would have to be with Cuba 🇨🇺 and Haiti 🇭🇹 because of the location
I hope the price of passage is affordable
just hope the governments don't use this as a way to tax the piss out of people
You have high hopes, same way them corrupt people mash up Red Jet they will deal with this .Trust me they going find a way even with cheap fuel.
I believe that once people see the benefits they will take care of it
Correct! They will find a way to quash this and that makes me mad. They don’t want any link of these islands that they can’t push their hands into get a money grab! I remember Red Jet!

That clip with the boat 🚢 you talking about his not a big ship you would need a bigger boat
I don’t think that’s the boat for the regional ferry, that’s the regular ferry.
Hope it does not end up as the so-called Federation.
A catamaran ferry would struggle with the leg down to Guyana. It's not really designed for that type of sea journey.
Thank you for sharing
Come to Guyana u hv been to other island
Canada tried to make the caribbean have a ferry system
Do you know what year that took place?
@carib21network Yes, the Canadian government gifted the West Indies Federation two merchant ships, The Federal Palm and The Federal Maple, in May 1961. The ships were a crucial link between the islands, visiting each island twice a month.
@carib21network the government should form back the west indies federation and rejoin Canada 🇨🇦 as providence. i know a lot of our people would agree to this if we voted 🗳
@@gameplugtv9000 But would Canadians want it ? The West Indian Federation fell apart because the bigger islands did not want to shoulder the weight of the smaller ones. Although it is said that once bitten twice shy it could probably work this time provided potentially wealthy Guyana agrees to it.
The cost of air travel in between islands is ridiculous,is bess u go america, Caribbean airlines now has a monopoly and they like soucouyant milking it for all that is worth, why doesn't caricom do something about it,what was the purpose of them to sit down and ole talk ever so often, for ppl on business or who have limited time, the plane is more appropriate,at one time there were 4 different airlines running between islands

@@taurusx1000 bro do you have a clue how much it cost to run a regional Airline? . Do you know what it will cost to higher an International Airline to service the Caribbean region? It is big business which cannot run at a lost hence the reason why no international private Airline company will be willing to invest in the Caribbean. They just can't compete with Caribbean Airlines cheap prices.
There is no alternative at the moment unless there is a subsidy of the cost by the consumer given by the Gov't as in the case of domestic flights between TnT.
Regional ferry system ... yes. Galleons Passage ... no.
what about Saint Lucia man
St Lucia will be a part of the second phase with Grenada 🇬🇩
GREAT .BUT GUYANA IS IN SOUTH AMERICAN, NOT THE CARIBENOOOOOO

@@carib21networkI hope so because it would be great if that happened speaking as a Caribbean black man from United Kingdom London it would be great news if the Caribbean leaders do this for real so we in the Caribbean diaspora that live up in the North Atlantic countries can come home and visit each other's Islands by ferry
We need a big ferry for Africa as well
Social security cocoa drugged ferry

This is a just another big joke you can tell me in this morden age and time you're telling me that you are putting a vessel to run from Trinidad Barbados and Guyana with only 400 passengers this is the doltish thing I will ever see because this will never be profitable for no country because you will have thousands of people ho will want to travel to and from the island and let ous look at how much Trip can this boat make per week so this is just not making any sense
Thank you for watching, and 400 is a lot of people for a ferry plus it can carry 60 cars and goods also. I think the same way you can take a ferry from St Vincent to Bequia island is the same way it will work. And it makes more business sense to have a 400 seat ferry that operates 100% occupancy than a 800 seat ferry at 70 %
@jackedup2007
You all have to get rid of that “person” you all have in Trinidad and Tobago. And you all need to watch if the violence is not state sponsored or politically motivated.
A similar thing happened in Guyana when a certain government and certain persons wanted to run everyone but … out of the country.
