Excessive oil consumption with no apparent leakage is an issue with these cars. You correctly replaced the PCV valve which is by far the least expensive and a common cause. Unfortunately it can also be a major problem but definitely agree with this as step 1.
Here's a funny end to the story we traded the soul in which had a 2.0 motor and bought a Kia Nero which has a 1.6 motor now I don't know what the difference is or whether the 1.6 in the neuro is the same as the 1.6 in the soul but that's what we ended up with
@@plnthrd yeah, I've seen a lot of forums stating the issue. I've heard about it both on the 1.6 and 2L. did you get a different year? I guess 2013~4 - 2016 were the problem children. eventually i'll trade it just got to decide what to get.
swapped the pcv on my sportage turbo and it was soaked in oil ... what a junk idea pcv... are we really saving anything by not venting instead? we are burning oil isn't that a form of pollution?
Why doesn’t my dumba$$ Kia service department know about doing this? They’re like “Let’s see if your car blows up. That means it’s definitely consuming oil!”
Well they actually know that the engines are basically waste oil furnaces on wheels.....but they tell everyone that the PCV is the culprit...all total bullshit
Ours is loosing a quart every week. Just found out about this. Thanks. Eager to see if it helps.
best of luck it didn't with ours 🤥

@@Agent40oz if you search the Soul forums you will see it's a pretty common problem....I think it has to do with ring seal
