I've been listening to this music since 1970 I'm 64 years old now and I'll be listening to it till the day I die love you Dicky love you Duane Betts I hope some of you guys keep this music going forever
As a music fan I never particularly gravitated towards the Allman Brothers. Once I got serious about playing guitar however I was floored by dicky Betts and he became a huge influence on me. I use the major pentatonic as my foundation adding modal chord tones where appropriate.
My favorite guitar player. Dickey may be gone but he won't be forgotten. His music will live on and on. RIP Brother Dickey. Thank you, and I love you as always.
Elizabeth Reed and Blue Sky now that's some playing right there. Dickey could melt your face off on a long jam then turn around and do some of the best country picking you ever saw. Was so great live. RIP guitar man
How can this “ old” ( the players AND the audience) all seem so young? Yup. Emailed David Spero last month and told him I’m taking Diicky into the afterlife with me!
@@bluesky6985 Yes. What I meant was I so badly want to be able to listen to “ Jessica and Ramblin Man” in the afterlife. Can’t think of much else I want to take with me.
I am 63 and this music will never die that's for sure 😊😊😊😊 back then that was the best music ever written and played is from the 60s and 70 that's what music was music
61 here….and I concur. Dickey makes all the post EVH “shredders” look like snotty little posers - his git-fiddle slangin’ is the most musical and tone full we will ever hear….and to think him and Duane were paired together back in day - ridiculous. That was a supreme duo of players right there. Wow
This is a tremendous band….and little Duane played some very nice stuff. I mean they are all terrific …..I mean terrific….and the arrangements are dynamic and exciting.
Love Andy Aledort....great muso and all round cool geezer....I have his Truefire slide vid.....if you want to learn electric slide in the style of the Allmans then this is where you must go to.
Incomprehensible is the eclipse that Dickey Betts suffered in Allman Brothers, and his complex has unfolded it in a son who, in the future, WILL STILL PLAY BETTER EVEN THAN THE PAIR AS AN IRRREPLACEABLE GUITARIST AN AMAZING TECHNIQUE SINCE ALWAYS DICKEY BETTS 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎸🎸✨✨✨✨✨🔊
Music as it should be played. There is one hell of a jam band you're just joined up above Dickey and maybe Gary Rossington could join you as well as guest guitarest . Rest easy sir and thank you for all the music jems.
Mike Kach sounds so much like young Gregg. Not taking away, I appreciate him. I think he seems like an authentic guy. Did just seem him with Rook in a tribute ABB band.
diverse cultural parts of a worldly process better described as hierarchical yet it is also true that these integral parts of time and space are knotted together in a multi-planetary mindset🐬
I believe Charlie was refering to Elvin Bishop with that line of the song. Went something like" Elvin Bishop sittin' on a stack of hay. He aint good lookin' but he sure can play. The line about Dickey went something like " People come from near and far to hear Richard Betts pickin' that red guitar"
Love this Lineup= camera person has friggin ADD though !! Won't focus on one player, solo or section, just jumping all over the place, Could have done a bit better with that, We would love to watch them actually play instead of Bouncing the hell all over One place to next like a Wild ass squirrel losing it's nuts!
Great Southern was just a copy of ABB, they didn't create something new. The keyborder looks and sounds like Greg Allman and the drummer seems to be the twin-brother of Jaimoe.
I love the Allman Brothers circa 1970, 1971…..and Whipping Post is a spectacular song. I would say without Dickey and his Ramblin’ Man just to name one, they likely would have nowhere near the sales, popularity and legacy they enjoy. Ultimately music is about songs and Ramblin Man was #1 and spread their name like wild fire.
Das ist so brutal durcharrangiert. Allman Brothers 2.0.........I love it.......
"And when it's time for leavin'
I hope you'll understand
That I was born a ramblin' man..."
RIP Dickey
Amen 💔🙏🙏🙏

Nothing in this world sounds prettier than a Les Paul played on the neck pickup with the tone rolled all the way down through a dimed Marshall.
0:48 Agree although I'm a Fender guy but lov this sound as well!!❤
Where is a good point in the show to hear what you're talking about?
Por ejemplo, todos los solos de Dickey en Jessica @@topdroog
I myself also like the Great sound a Les Paul make but I mean a stretcher man as I got older you know my hands ain't what they used. To be 50:55
51:07
I actually wrote stretcher I meant to type Stratocaster 54:14 54:14
I'll always miss him. And when he was with us, I never missed him. He was always the important gig, the one u didn't miss.

Man before they play "blue sky" it sounds like a "franklins tower" jam. Love that so much✌️🙌
As a music fan I never particularly gravitated towards the Allman Brothers. Once I got serious about playing guitar however I was floored by dicky Betts and he became a huge influence on me. I use the major pentatonic as my foundation adding modal chord tones where appropriate.

thank you Dickey for all the inspiration your music brought and will bring to many many people
The man on the slide guitar is Andy Aledort - a tremendous solo musician in his own right, if you like this be sure to check his music out.
Elizabeth Reed and Blue Sky now that's some playing right there. Dickey could melt your face off on a long jam then turn around and do some of the best country picking you ever saw. Was so great live. RIP guitar man
Saw the Dickey Betts Band in 2007, Portland Oregon. The front of the stage was reserved for people dancing! It was a beautiful place to be.
Sooo GOOD for sooo LONG. It's gonna be tough without you around Mr. Betts.
Godspeed brother, miss you terribly already...
I have never heard such incredible sound in my sixty year,s of listening to great music, this is 100% GOLD , Hold it in your head fore- ever !!@!!
No one left to run with.......😢
Duane Betts was playing too, he is wonderful blues artist and guitarist!! This wonderful ❤❤
Great band ! The one and only Dickey Betts your music lives on
tons of talent in this band.
It doesn't get any better than this and it seems just like yesterday. See you in Heaven

Must be a trip having your father playing guitar with you,and it's Dickey Betts!

RIP Dickey and thank you for all the GREAT music.

Nice. I got to meet Andy, Duane and Pedro the summer before at a local show. All great guys and it was a fantastic show.

Oh yeah ❤

this is my exact thought every time I watch a video of DB & Great Southern
As much as I love Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks, Dickey Betts was the true heart and soul of ABB after the loss of Duane.
DIS B MY KINDA MUSIC 🎸👍👍✌
Andy Aledort on slide
My favourite guitar teacher.

Have a taste of that, Europe!
Compared to the Strats and the Les Pauls, the ES 335/355 just doesn’t get enough love .

Jessica the best version I ever heard. Now my Guitar Hero is gone. Stay tuned Dickey!
Camera Producers need to take some Sedation and relax, too hyperactive!

I don’t the drummer sounds bad Gregg Allmann with Raspy voice!!❤Heart RIP all Original Allmann Brothers!!!
I was vibing pretty hard till I heard that guys voice.
Great singer!
This is horrible editing. Who changes screen shots every two seconds? Audio sounds good, but it doesn't match video.
What's wrong with these people. Probably spell shocked by the awesomeness. I'd be a jumpin just saying!!❤
Great Southern was just a copy of ABB, they didn't create something new. The keyborder looks and sounds like Greg Allman and the drummer seems to be the twin-brother of Jaimoe.
At least they didn't play any of Gregg's compositions.

Shit he doesn’t give a solo away to his son...
He ain't Greg
Dickey needed to trash all the other players.
Why? Sounds great to me!
Just the bass player alone is fricken incredible …..
