No, you can’t play ROBLOX on the oculus go or oculus quest. The only way to play it with those headsets is to connect the oculus quest to a pc, although you can’t do that with the oculus go

Not sure anything will be exclusive to Oculus Go as the framework I think is the same between Go and Gear VR. A lot of titles will only run at 72hz if run on the Go and a lot of titles are likely being timed to release during the Go launch windows. I think that even if folks don't buy a Go right away, if they have a Gear VR they'll already have access to an awesome library and when they have the funds the Go will be able to play them and some of them even better.
Im looking in the comments and wtf are people expecting from an 200$ Vr headset, that works on its own. Its not supposed to be high end gaming headset and one controller is far enough for that price.
lol I know right, most people just look at the graphics and dismiss the gameplay. We need to get these people into headsets to convince them how cool it actually is []-)
Hi Mike good video the games look good I now most of them been out for the Gear VR I dont have that one so they will be all new games to me. lets get one thing out first this is not the full P.C Oculus it not meant to be I have been looking forward to this as am a Handicapped man there nothing out there that take this in mind we also like playing game as long as you dont need 8 hands to play them.this one has only one small controller right or lift handed still should work as good I have trouble with my hands so find most games very hard to play and it a sham as i was ones a programmer in the 80s making games like Paper Boy. any way let hope i can get on with the OCULUUS GO keep up the good work Mike.

Mike, I'm thinking the Go would make a nice gift but can you tell me how games and apps are controlled when you don't have the touch controllers? Does the Go come with some sort of input controller? I assume that the Go must have wireless (Bluetooth) to connect the controller you linked to? Thanks for doing these type of videos.
Hey Jeff, yeah the Go has a single bluetooth hand controller, similar to Gear VR. You can also pair traditional controllers for some supported games. I have a Go arriving tomorrow so should have loads of content about the Go for you soon []-)
Sorry to ask a question here just know theres alot of VR enthusiast here, misplaced oculus go controller trying to tell if its still in house by bluetooth signal theres 2 signals related to oculus. Is OMVR-V190 the bluetooth tag for go controller?
If it’s Bluetooth then it should. All the Bluetooth controllers I’ve tested so far work. I’ll have a video covering controllers up early next week []-)

I have a Gear VR already so will probably skip Oculus Go since it's basically the same - saving up for the real mind blowing stuff with Santa Cruz. If you don't have a GVR yet then can't really go wrong with Go, the portability makes a HUGE difference. I remember watching movies in my private Oculus cinema while on a plane. Made me feel like I was in first class.
I have Gear VR but still want Go. To me it's not the same. Better screen clarity and optics means a much better upgraded movie theatre which I can use without friction.
Santa Cruz will be the same as Go just with better controllers (2 controllers) and 6dof instead of 3dof. but the content will be the same old lame cell phone style games...
I agree it’s not wireless Rift, but having 6dof in headset / controllers in a portable device will be pretty mind-blowing in itself. I remember them saying their goal is Rift like experiences, even if the graphics are simplified somewhat.

For being a legit standalone headset, it looks impressive I’m thinking of getting one. The games announced for it don’t impress me though. They’re like tech demos and that’s what is drawing me away from buying one just a bit.
although I know Oculus Go cant really run high performance games it would be cool if later on their could be accessories that could be added to it like duel controlling for immersive two handed gameplay or maybe some type of tracking device like the oculus rift. But honestly some of these games seem very well made and I mainly want to the oculus go for the entertainment purpose such as watching Netflix and movies in different landscapes. Plus the price is a big plus. The OG is still fairly new so who knows the 1000s of games and apps that will be added in the near future!
I'm going to change my stance on this. If you do have a Samsung phone that supports Gear VR then the GO isn't worth it. But if you don't, the price point is a no brainer if the GO is going to be your first dive into VR. Being wireless does make it so convenient to use with an Internet connection and be able to move around unhindered by cables. I just think the games will be just OK as I really wasn't impressed by the Gear VR game library.
When I spoke to the Beat Saber developer about it, he wasn't that interested in porting it over to Go due to the lack of 6dof. He did say however that he was interested in the upcoming Oculus project Santa Cruz []-)

Unfortunately Minecraft isn't support right now, it will be coming soon though []-) in the meantime if you're a bit handy you can sideload the game and it works just fine []-)

So you can stream your desktop which means any steam game is playable in the headset using Bigscreen. It's locked to 30fps right now but improvements are coming soon! []-)

Not trying to be mean, but I slept through most of those games. I know mobile isn't really as great as a console or a PC, but wow, those titles look super boring. I really hope it gets better than this, because that was totally snooze worthy. Again, I am not trying to be mean and I am sorry to the developers because I know they worked their butts off, but I hope nobody plans on making money on these games. It all looked like the simplest phone indie games that you could find.
I'm generally not one to be negative on anything VR, so you'll have to forgive me this one time. My first VR experience was when I bought Gear VR and a Galaxy S7. I'm really confused why Oculus would bother with this. It's the SAME game library almost entirely. Gear VR has been out for years now....why just put out a product for those who want VR without the cell phone? Controllers may be better but I hope something separates this thing from Gear VR.....Sorry Mike, had to say it....
This is $200 and better than Gear....it’s a no brainer. I think Oculus are very smart with going for the low end here. It’s a really comfortable device with a huge library of content and the optics are nothing short of wizardry
Well, I semi-agree with you, the battery life of the oculus go is awful, and there are some free content on the gear vr that now costs money on the oculus go, (coaster combat for example) cost 4.99$ on the "GO" store, and free on the gear vr store, it's ridiculous...

might be an ideal vr exp to you but its still very much a VR exp and a "real" one.. Ok i have lingered long enough in this comment section, its just that only a handful of current youtube videos out there that arent reviews about the Go so i pulled up a chair and stayed a while lol.
The only 6dof standalone hmd currently available is Lenovo Mirage Solo for $400 and the daydream platform offers way less software than oculus and only a very few daydream software supports 6dof. So you can wait for about a year until daydream 6dof will be popular enough to worth developers to support it or you can buy oculus go for half the price and enjoy standalone VR with tons of content right now.
Im sorry im not buying it, Its supposed to bring VR mainstream but I cant get over the fact the games still look super gimmicky and also I had the impression that we would have a virtual hand controls in VR on the oculus go with the controller, but instead its just a super simple bluetooth controller that no matter were you move it it wont give you any way to interact with things in VR games such as being able to aim a gun with your hand instead of moving your head with a gun attached to it. Its just a gear VR with the phone in it.
Its (controller) actually pretty precise intuitive and aims just fine imo, you are 100% able to interact in games that allow it (many of which do, close to all in fact) not sure where you are getting your info but i suggest checking a few other outlets/places as well because thats just not true.

The convenience of not having to use your phone is a huge plus! To get close to Go performance you will need to be running an S8 at minimum []-)

So how do you puck up an object and place it down somewhere? Or point a gun if the controller doesn't have position in space tracking?
It does, just three degrees of freedom. You can even play Ultrawings and use the controller like a flight joystick. Think of it like a wii remote.

Can we all agree it's disappointing that it's been nearly a year and Minecraft is still not on the Go?
I got a Oculus go and most of the games suck..they need to make open world games and stop doing these easy ass kids games..

Not trying to be mean, but I slept through most of those games. I know mobile isn't really as great as a console or a PC, but wow, those titles look super boring. I really hope it gets better than this, because that was totally snooze worthy. Again, I am not trying to be mean and I am sorry to the developers because I know they worked their butts off, but I hope nobody plans on making money on these games. It all looked like the simplest phone indie games that you could find.
Although graphically not amazing. Loads of these games have fantastic gameplay []-)

I'm generally not one to be negative on anything VR, so you'll have to forgive me this one time. My first VR experience was when I bought Gear VR and a Galaxy S7. I'm really confused why Oculus would bother with this. It's the SAME game library almost entirely. Gear VR has been out for years now....why just put out a product for those who want VR without the cell phone? Controllers may be better but I hope something separates this thing from Gear VR.....Sorry Mike, had to say it....
Its very simple. Most people dont have a gaming PC OR a flagship Samsung phone. This is for those people.

This is $200 and better than Gear....it’s a no brainer. I think Oculus are very smart with going for the low end here. It’s a really comfortable device with a huge library of content and the optics are nothing short of wizardry
Well, I semi-agree with you, the battery life of the oculus go is awful, and there are some free content on the gear vr that now costs money on the oculus go, (coaster combat for example) cost 4.99$ on the "GO" store, and free on the gear vr store, it's ridiculous...

Hmm...so basically there is absolutely nothing good for the Oculus Go. Except for Bigscreen.
Honestly, i dont think there can be. VR gaming without positional tracking is just... no.

I think media is strong suit and with that said its pretty strong in that dept.

Oculus Go it's only 3dof. It's a glorified VR phone experience.

For the technology in it it's cheap actually, but still, in my opinion it's not a ideal VR experience, it's far from it.
might be an ideal vr exp to you but its still very much a VR exp and a "real" one..
Ok i have lingered long enough in this comment section, its just that only a handful of current youtube videos out there that arent reviews about the Go so i pulled up a chair and stayed a while lol.
The only 6dof standalone hmd currently available is Lenovo Mirage Solo for $400 and the daydream platform offers way less software than oculus and only a very few daydream software supports 6dof. So you can wait for about a year until daydream 6dof will be popular enough to worth developers to support it or you can buy oculus go for half the price and enjoy standalone VR with tons of content right now.

Im sorry im not buying it, Its supposed to bring VR mainstream but I cant get over the fact the games still look super gimmicky and also I had the impression that we would have a virtual hand controls in VR on the oculus go with the controller, but instead its just a super simple bluetooth controller that no matter were you move it it wont give you any way to interact with things in VR games such as being able to aim a gun with your hand instead of moving your head with a gun attached to it. Its just a gear VR with the phone in it.

Its (controller) actually pretty precise intuitive and aims just fine imo, you are 100% able to interact in games that allow it (many of which do, close to all in fact) not sure where you are getting your info but i suggest checking a few other outlets/places as well because thats just not true.
