An absolutely awesome scrambling circular route up and down the Pico Del Aguila (568m) in Spain. A beautiful place to spend the night with 360 views, sunset, sunrise, wine, and some tough going exercise. The route was pretty dangerous at times along cliff edges and some tough scrambling but well worth the effort!

I find a lot of inland Spain very arid and ugly( we have a villa in Java, it’s quite pretty around there). I’m biased but I think we have better views in the UK.

You commented on the path markers, all the eay throughout the Alps from Slovenia and to the far west they are superbly located, visible even in snow. As too are the signposts marked hours/mins to the destinations.

That’s the Rab Aeon 28. Pretty comfy but might not fit a much bigger body than mine. You’d have to try one on.
Hey, my TH-cam Renaissance Man. Huge respect from USA. The daunting repels that you do and then have to do it again to retrieve the camera are intense! So nice to have family that lives in a Spanish villa. Was that firebox/stove actually mounted on the wall in the hut? I’ve never seen that before. What an amazing an experience! Such stunning views. I used to be able to do stuff like this a few years ago now but sadly with osteoarthritis in my knee, it's just no longer possible. It's just too painful. But you help to bring to life some amazing adventures which I can still appreciate. Thank you!

Outstanding Al lad, cracking stuff.
Have you considered Almanzor in the Picos de Gredos? Second highest on the Spanish mainland. Think Black Cuillin but twice the height (8500ft)and more extensive. Stunning climb from El Plataforma car park with a Refuge at the halfway point but it is an easy full day climb in summer. Enough in the East and West sections to keep you happy for days. Usually snow in Winter but perhaps not at present.
Watch out for the mountain goats!
Stay at the village of Hoya del Espinos in a large house run by an English couple, when we were there.
