I saw the original 1988 recording on TH-cam 20 minutes ago and then found this remake and now my stomach is cramping up from laughing so hard. It truly was how he answered her questions with nothing that had anything to do with her question before she was even finished asking the question. I'm gonna try this at the board meeting this Friday.

I don't think those of us alive then would readily think of this original interview when we need a laugh, so doing it verbatim is like a reminder that it happened and an introduction for folks who weren't around foe the original.

Brilliant recreation!! What makes this so entertaining is how well the actors do their roles and how faithful this is to the actual clip. My favorite part is when he says "cause I look good, and I smell good, and I feel good" and she replies "and you sing good." And he says, "and I make love good." LOL.

Definitely not cocaine. You can still be somewhat crisp on cocaine. Likely pcp. Also, you can see in the original that he was wearing the same outfit and gloves he was wearing in one of his music videos. He was likely up all night and went from the shoot straight to this interview.

Please note: this interview was in 1988, not 1987. As far as being drunk..Brown was also arrested for possession of PCP at that time and we actually believe that was what he was on during this interview. That's was an amazing recreation! wow, cannot believe I haven't seen this yet, thought I'd seen all Jordan & Peele content, not sure how this one snuck by me. That was just James being who he is, answering every question with a song title, high af, and hitting on the interviewer while on TV, and out on bail(or "out on love" as he calls it, lol) for abusing his wife, and yeah I'm pretty sure he was a different person at home. Dude was legend, and from a different time/space than the rest of us. He had an image to uphold, and nothing was going to stop that.
