Great vid mate. I don’t really things will change that much, given the requirements for the new visa type .. it sounds good in some ways but how many people will actually qualify and then apply. I love the idea of potentially working remotely and I work for a large company but there are tax consequences for long periods of stay and many companies will only let you work overseas for a month or so - so will never give me the admin paperwork required.
Sounds like it suits the types who were already working there - like the types who flowed into Thailand - especially CM - a decade or so ago. This just gives them a more legal option.
Will be interesting to hear the numbers after a year or two. Great vid mate 😎😎

Cheers mate! Time will tell about the Visas. It's dead easy at the minute though, people are getting the visa by just having a dentist appointment in Thailand. We shall see how it goes. Cheers mate.

I think all these changes are generally good.
One thing about hanging around long-term -- that potential expats often forget -- not every country is every trraveler's cup o' tea. It's great to be able to stay longer and the process is easier. Gives a person the chance to really learn about the country and learn about yourself, right? But Thailand may or may not be perfect. Everybody's different.

Thanks for sharing! It's very important to have a plan for your retirement. I had a plan A, B and C 15 years ago. I am now at the plan C with an optional plan D. Plan C means I will move 100% to Thailand and retire there in 2027. Plan D means I will live in my cabincruiser in the summer here in Norway and stay 6 month of the winter in Thailand from 2027. It all comes down to economy, so I hope Plan C is what I can accomplish. If it wasn't for the china virus, I could have follow Plan B and been 100% retired in Thailand 2 years ago.

Nice video mate . The visa situation is concerning for anyone wanting to make it home . Otherwise you can only plan within the confines of the visa period. Singapore was a a pretty cheap place back in the 80s now it expensive. As Thailand develops and modernises it could go the same way . My idea is to have Vietnam or Cambodia as a fall back plan B if Thailand becomes problematic. Being diabetic the way to test is fast overnight and do the test first thing in the morning. From here take the tablets to adjust the blood sugar levels. But complete change in eating and drinking habits . It’s life changing . Needs diagnosis with a blood test and HBA1C reading,

I think it will likely change although if you really wanted to be in Thailand before then there were certainly ways to do it. They have a wonderful and unique culture so hopefully it doesn't change too much, parts of Thailand have already become westernised which has its advantages and disadvantages. I think accommodation will also get harder to find in the peak season because it's already difficult in popular areas. The massage was 60 mins, don't think you'd get a very good massage for 60thb😅.

The problem with scarcity of short term rentals is that does not correlate to the 2x 60 day with max 180 day visa offering. No one will come if there are no 2-3 month rentals so that visa is utterly useless. The should simply offer 1 year $500 visas. The whole $22k deposit is ludicrous much like the $10k Philppines one. That plus what you spend let’s say $18k year they are getting a decent chunk of coin. Albania works for me as I have a UK and US passport no deposit 12 months no tax on pension quids in, and it don’t get sweltering like there - I’d miss the grub though.

Time will tell as to what effect these visas have. I think most people in the western world that work get a standard 4 week annual leave so outside of taking long service leave it is limited to what extent they can travel. Then of course there are so many options around SE Asia so staying just in Thailand may not appeal anyway. Prices in Thailand have stayed at what they are since I can remember. Local street food prices are not likely to change much if at all. Accommodation costs are generally structured around the high and low seasons and fully booked as it is during the peaks. It will be interesting to see what unfolds. 🤩

It's another unclear subject mate, so we'll have to see how it unfolds. If I want to keep staying in Thailand and those are the rules, I'll just accept it 👍

If your from the USA, UK, Australia it’s all pretty clear now.
      1) I watched a Vid by Ploy and Jay in Thailand he went to his local tax office in Buriram and said they and all tax offices in Thailand people who can answer any questions you have.
      2) I am a Brit and watched Expat Tax Thailand Vid on the DTA between Thailand and UK (They also have the same for USA & Australia). It goes through all aspects of the DTA and gives case study examples. There is a list of Tax deductibles & allowances and one place you can find it is - Thailand Personal Tax Deductibles and Allowances SHERRINGS. There are few more allowances I can claim but the basic ones are 60K personal allowance + Wife’s 60K personal allowance + 190K because I am over 65 + 100K because I my state pension is more than that. This all adds up to 410K then the first 150K is at 0% rate so that brings it to 560K which is about £12,500 and the same as the UK tax allowance. After that Thailand tax bands start at 5% and you get tax credits for any tax you paid in the UK.
      3) After watching the 2 Vids referred to above I went to the tax office where I live in Udon Thani and they seen me straight away. They confirmed everything Expat Tax Thailand said was correct.

I have been watching that retired working for you video in which he interviewed a gentleman from the government on the dtv visa. As per him, you can come and go any time and the visa will reset to 180 days per entry. If that’s the case then Thailand is up for some foreigner rush, which will eventually lead to Spain / Portugal kind of scenario. The prime minister who brought all these visas is now been fired so you never know what’s going to happen next.

    • @isaanman5399
      @isaanman5399 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Ben on Integrity Legal Thailand doesn’t agree with RW4U. As he points out the guy he spoke to works for the Foreign Affairs Office who issue visas overseas but Once you get to border control and in Country visas come under the Immigration Bureau. What work you can and can’t do do comes under the Ministry Of Labor. Income tax comes under the Revenue Department. Now with a change in PM they have said the new administration will review key policies including soft power initiatives and the DTV is a SPI. Thing is in recent years you don’t know what they are going to do one month to do one month to the next.

    • @ANomadOverseas

Yeah but there's no guarantee that every application will be approved, maybe at the very early days they will be a bit more lax with it but I suspect they'll become a lot more stringent on which applications they will approve. It's at their discretion who they will grant it to.

    • @Techfanatic73

Thailand with it's new partners with Russia and China is going to be far more prosperous in their future. Sadly for Westerners we are stuck with huge economic issues due to war, debt and countries not wanting to deal with the US 'rules' based order anymore.I think Thailand is well aware of this and is making the right changes and alliances, and changing immigration accordingly.

Casinos? ...not sure for thai employment and prone to money laundering.Taxes? ...if too many, residents will move. Prices of goods? and services...VAT cannot extend that much. Other symptoms of hypochondria include:
    Frequently visiting or switching doctors
    Talking a lot about health
Spending a lot of time online researching symptoms
Feeling pain or uneasiness in the gut throughout the day or week
Excessive sweating, even in unexpected situations

Great news….I started a Keto diet in January 2022, ate one 2,000 calorie meal a day of meat, eggs, vegetables and walked 13 kilometers every other day. October 2022. I had lost 25kg, got off 7 medications I was on for 20+ years and had the best blood test results of my life. Another major issue is the seed oils that Restaurants cook with. It’s the leading cause of diabetes. I use olive oil, butter, lard and tallow instead of seed oils.
