Very helpful Wayne, thanks. As far as shopping, two direct from China stores are getting real popular in the U.S., Temu and Shein. I use Temu frequently, this stuff is not only dirt cheap, but it is also pretty decent quality. I def. recommend.
That was great. Had to save it for whenever the heck I can finally make it to CM. Taking longer than I thought. I’m with you on google maps.. I have no sense of direction either. Ha. Keep enjoying the good life, Wayne!
Hey bud how are you, I have a question if you don’t have a bank account how do you access cash. I plan on moving to Thailand from the Philippines, and here I can remit money to myself and pick it up at one of the many outlets around town, and I want to get my ducks in a row before I make the move.
I'm good thanks buddy. You can use a ATM card or Credit card. Wire it into western union or use Wise or Revolut. I used my credit card for 2 years before I got my bank account. Go inside the bank with your credit card and get cash, then you avoid the atm fee,
Great work. I definitely would say Bolt is cheaper than Grab for transportation. I used it exclusively in Chiang Mai when I was there last time. Although it isn't available in all parts of Thailand, and Grab seems to be more universally available. Also, in some cases I've had more trouble finding a driver with Bolt and when I used Grab I haven't had the same problem. Perhaps having both and comparing would be helpful. I definitely disagree with your assessment of Agoda. But I found something unusual last time I was in Thailand regarding Agoda. When I used my phone from home with a US number I got some super deals, picked a hotel and paid with a CC, no hassle, but when I switched out the SIM with a Thai one, the super deals disappeared and I got hit with these "coupon" type offers that seemed to force me to pay a high price up front and somehow get reimbursed later. Needless to say I switched back to my US SIM card.
Nice! I’ve never used Bolt but Grab always seems to be reliable most of the time . Agoda and Booking no different really. Both with have better deals on certain days. Booking has always been my preferred but both do the job. Cheers 👍
I'm sure you're onto exchanging your pound at the best times of the year due to the fluctuations of the Thai baht? I hear you can save 7-10% by knowing the best times? Seems the trend is similar yearly? Cheers👍
Chloe is always my top recommendation mate. She doesn’t have a shop so need to contact her on Facebook. I’ll leave the link below. She’s a Farang so she’s straight down the line and never no problems with Chloe. Or if you prefer a shop, there’s many popular ones. Mango Scooters, D2 and Mr Mechanic are sone of the good ones. Here’s Chloe’s page - facebook.com/share/zRLGyDGZ4vVf69tW/?mibextid=LQQJ4d She delivers to the hotel and picks up again also.
@@WalkAboutWayne wicked that would be great.iam flying up from hua hin next Friday only in town until Sunday morning heading north to the mountains Monday
Looking at your example of Wise, that looks like an expensive way to send money. Western Union from my debit card to the bank costs me $1.99 no matter the size of the transaction.
I’ll have to look into that. I’ve never been a big fan of Western Union but I’ll give it a look. Wise is really convenient with so many other things , so not sure what else western Union can do. I’ve got no problems with the wise fees, still cheap but WU does sound cheap, I’ll look it up.
I travel a lot and have 11 of the apps on your list already on my phone.
Nice one mate 😀

I’ve never seen any pattern in changing money mate, so that’s not something I’ve seen. Interesting if that’s right 👍

Oh, I just realized you probably won't be here for a month and Chloe normally only does long term. So any of the other shops will do the trick mate.
Give me a shout buddy, I'll meet you for a coffee.

If your in a big city many times grab will fail if it’s busy , so bolt is a good back up
Yes, could be a good option to have both.
What about maxim ? 2 years ago it was new, still exists?
Can I ask where is the park please?
Kawila Park in Wat Ket. Over the Iron bridge and turn right towards Lamphun Road. Just a couple minutes from Iron Bridge.
@@WalkAboutWayne Thank you so much!
