It is a great way to improve at any competitive game you play, gets you used to continuously thinking about what you are doing and why. Where as many people fall into the trap of repetition without reason because they typically don't have that inner monologue happening and talking out loud promotes it's creation.

These games just showed the complete skill and knowledge you have of this game. I know many have said it, but it still bears saying. Your knowledge of timing and ability to even blind predict unit positions is incredible. These games were a real treat for me, thank you for the excellent content!

Pretty much why I was a gold player at best. I had decent macro and micro but my knowledge and sense of what my opponents were doing was poor. You can only get so far executing your build order well and having good control of your units, but if you can’t react to what your opponent is doing you will always fall behind.

Regarding spoiling things with video length - You could do what Total Biscuit did, he basically added a black screen to the end of his tournament casts, to make shorter matches more in line with the rest of the tournament. This way it kept the tension up while watching.

I'm in total support of this format. It's short, easy to watch and digest. It's also easier to find later, instead of loading up a long 2-3 hour video and find a game in the middle of that tournament. One suggestion is come up with a good naming format so people can easily watch the next part.

Would love to see you do fast hidden base expands in every game. Also, you could always add a random amount of padding (5-20 minutes) at the end of the videos to avoid spoilers on shorter videos too. Just snag an old game from an old challenge and throw it at the end so you don't have to do too much work.

I said when you asked that I'd prefer the video as one because of the whole story but I kind of don't mind them this way but maybe put them into a playlist in reverse chronilogical order if that's not too big of a hassle to keep them sorted, really good games, eagerly anticipating the follow up, cannot wait for the day that you win the weekly tournament.

Pro tip: learn what you can about your enemy. Throughout all your challenges, you manage to keep up to date intel on who you fought against, enough for it to allow decision making like you showed on the second series.
That makes a pro player. The amount of possible losses converted to wins just because of awareness of your foe is enough to get most players a league above, I would say.

I like this shorter video concept. The thing is I don't have that much time to sit and watch for like an hour, so with longer videos I need to choose a place to split the video myself t keep watch later (and maybe I will have to end you mid-sentence, and even if i don't, it wont feel as satisfying compared to if you actually end the video). And great matches by the way, and you are very nice, calm and fun to watch!

Here's an idea to pad out the episode length if you want to avoid spoilers. Just include a few minute segment at the end of botched/rejected games that you normally wouldn't release. Like games you disconnect from halfway through or something. You can throw up an explanation about it too

Hi uThermal, I don't really comment but I do watch every vid and wanted to give you some feedback on video length. I personally really like your longer videos, I think it gives you a good spot in the SCII content lineup. I understand if you have to chase the algorithm with multiple shorter uploads but personally your longform content sets you apart from many creators that are doing shorter "more focused" vids. I like the fact that you just play for a couple hours - and the commentary is always insanely top notch no matter how intense the games are. Great stuff, keep it up :) I'm glad you're finding more success.

My suggestion for next week is sort of going to be the opposite of cheese: Defense only until you have expanded to half of the entire map. Then you can attack. Scouting is allowed, but you cant kill anything with scouts. I'm hoping this will produce a lot of epic macro games, and it should be a good challenge because the enemy will be left alone to build what they want to, so we'l get to see if you can counter that.

    • @psywalker7973
      @psywalker7973 2 ปีที่แล้ว

When I cheese, I fuckin CHEESE it, all the way in. I play as Terran, and I build on the far side of their triangular 3rd, use map features to my advantage, and get in their face early, applying pressure with like 3 marines in their natural. Usually if i build 3xRax with 2 reactors and 1 tech lab they are toast. Oh, I like to wall off my main early. If they resist enough I build my 2nd and 3rd bases etc on their side, effectively changing my position on the map to the top left or bottom right. Depending on how skilful they are, well I just keep building and expanding until either of us wins. THAT is what I call full-on :D

Third time suggesting this but if you were to chapter the start of each match it would make returning to a long video and jumping to the next match quite easy. If you do have a long video I may watch 2 matches then return later but it's a bit laborious to find where I need to fast forward to. Some chapters would help to just jump to the start of each match.

It sounds like he doesn’t like spoiling matches, which is the only downside of chapters

@@jamiereid7428 you have to accept the format. Unless you want to put in a bunch of dead time to standardize the video length (which he could then add random chapters to music or whatever) you just live with the fact it's TH-cam.

The only thing more unexpected than the 12th consecutive cheese is the 13th consecutive cheese

    Challenge:
    1. Can't win under 30 minutes even if opponent quits early
    2. Can only destroy 2 bases between the 10-20 minute mark. Can't destroy any command centers, nexuses, or spawning pools before 10 minutes

Cheese vs cheese is always fun to watch. Who will win, the one using a traditional finely aged cheese, or the one using a zesty fresh cheese?
