Fantastic perspective! May I feature this landing in one of my next episodes? Of course with a link back to your original video. All the best to you :)
For a left-hand turn from the left-hand seat, I thought the tiller was moved forward and backwards for a right-hand turn. And the opposite for the right-hand seat. I thought this was to create a natural sense of direction of turn. However, the captain appears to pull the tiller backwards to exit the runway left.
I looked it up out of curiosity of the pink epaulettes, and it is indeed Qantas, and the colour is to do with raising money for breast cancer awareness.
Look again. It's Sydney Airport, Australia. Chances are he came in on 34R, which is hardy some backwater airstrip! This runway was enlarged to be able to land a Space Shuttle (back when they were flying) if it ever got into trouble over this part of Earth.
Awesome footage. Superb hand-flying, the precision that professional pilots are able to have never ceases to amaze me. Thanks for the upload.
Awesome
Thank you very much!

Go ahead! Regards Mike
The nose auto guidance and auto stop signals were developed here in Australia, by DCA and airport staff.
Absolutely LOVE this pov angle, amazing video!
I watched the MEL to LAX 2018 yesterday as well, great footage mike.
Thank you!
I was allowed to sit in the jumpseat a few times. There was so much to take in that I didn't appreciate it enough.
Captains POV! Great flying the queen!
‘Windsock’s not doing much, it’s flaccid 😂’
I'm the complete opposite watching this vid.
Aussie humor is great
747's always have that lumpy running landing gear sound

What date did you film and how is your flight as a pilot?
Great video! Was this filmed in the Qantas 747-400 or another airline and 747 variant?
Sounds like _Sydney Tower_ called them *Qantas 74* (possibly SFO-SYD) at 2:24 of the video
Lovely to watch, would love to be on board

Great video! Thanks for sharing!
My guess is Qantas Freight operated by Atlas Air 747-400
You make it look easy.
Wow, that was awesome 👏. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to the next video
And one freaky extra arm at the end, does that come with the 747?
The bus gets me every time
I've often wondered why airliners are not fitted with a car horn or klaxon, in order to scare away errant ground vehicles that get too close! LOL
708th Sub!
Is this a 747 freighter? :)
747-400ER. VH-OEJ
Atlas Air?
No, Qantas 747-400ER. I'm retired now so the video a few years old.
Nice camera view captain!
So Mike, do you still fly the 747?
No, retired now from airline flying. I get to fly the Caribou though, which is great.
smooth landing
What's the rego?
Beautiful work mate
Flat spot on tyre?
No… it was the nose wheel hitting the lights built into the centreline
they were trying to pre-emptively fight breast cancer by leaving the radar on into the gate 😂
Don't forget to put the handbrake on😬
Not bad for a 330 pilot.
Best of years and the certainly the best aeroplane type ✈️ 💙
Beep the horn
That is a narrow runway by world standards…

@@tobys_transport_videos 34L/16R. 34R handles domestic traffic usually.
