Cloud timelapse
A debunking of the flat earth theory. This timelapse represents 3 hours of flight over approx 1500 miles. A fixed camera and superimposed black line show the relative elevation of the tops of clouds as they approach the aircraft. Note the apparent motion of the cloud tops. This is impossible on a flat earth

Note the elevation angle on the left. At zero degrees there is a gap to the horizon making the oncoming aircraft appear above my aircraft. In the last twenty seconds it then appears to go below my aircraft. (It always was below my aircraft. ATC wont clear a climb or descent when opposite direction traffic are that close) This is the optical illusion caused by the curvature of the earth.

I miss seeing these going over chch on their way to Chile
Did they let you through security with that thingy on your head?
For a left-hand turn from the left-hand seat, I thought the tiller was moved forward and backwards for a right-hand turn. And the opposite for the right-hand seat. I thought this was to create a natural sense of direction of turn. However, the captain appears to pull the tiller backwards to exit the runway left.

Should be this week. On Amazon😊
Hello Mike, when will your book about MH370 be released?
Hi. it’s out now on Amazon. MH370-Answers from a Pilot. If you get the book I am happy to answer questions you may have. Mike
The bus gets me every time
THIS IS NOT A 747 - The FO has NO idea what hes doing -checks are crap ...
Sure it’s not a 747….lol
You’re a bright one aren’t you.
Waaay too much camera movement like this is some kind of aerobatics. Makes you want to puke.
This is the most impressive vid I've seen! Maybe it's because it's the Queen? I could almost feel how it is to sit there and take her up to the skies. 💖
Glad you enjoyed it!

Great video
VH-OEE she got scrapped in Mojave
Why do we have to switch off electronics and cameras while pilots are allowed to do the same?
Amazing! There is a nice ice cream van located at a landing spot North of Melb airport. Great view watching them land
They could have easily made the runway an extra 1000 metres in a country the size of Australia
Wasn't much runway remaining. Presume after V1 there's no stopping.
Correct. Once V1 is called, you are going.
I was fortunate enough to fly QF SYD - HNL - SYD on the 747 one last time just before they were retired. Beautiful experience and I think the shakes and rattles etc just added to the romantic Queen of the Skies experience.
Is this a 747 freighter? :)
747-400ER. VH-OEJ
What date did you film and how is your flight as a pilot?
I had flown Mel-Sydney per Ansett in it’s final days. Ansett was the domestic provider so was surprised that the return flight was by 747 which I never travelled in before. The guy at the desk said Ansett had 4 747s. So my flight was the final leg of an international flight or it was a balancing move to transfer a 747 to Melbourne for some reason. It was roughly half full.
Half the video was of the boys holding short.
Welcome to the world of airline flying…
Jeez 2018 life was good petrol was cheap
This is JFK isn’t it?
Definitely Vancouver
JFK not YVR
It is YVR. I flew it and recorded the video.
@@TWCobra There are many many give aways in the video that suggest it is JFK. YVR does not have a 22L. The taxiway assignmnet is JFK J,Z and G which are in JFK. The flight number also is a JFK flight number. there may be a glitch where the comments are attached to the wrong video but the video I am seeing is 100% JFK.
@@dragondrummer33 You are correct. Thanks for pointing it out. I do have a YVR somewhere.
That’s exactly what you would like to see in the cockpit. A clean well maintained cockpit and a fit experienced, alert and enthusiastic crew.
Having grown up watching these beautiful birds grace the skies of Melbourne it's a pleasure to get to see footage like this. Thank you so much for uploading.
Glad you enjoyed it Zac
So Mike, do you still fly the 747?
No, retired now from airline flying. I get to fly the Caribou though, which is great.
Miss flying on the 747 new ones aren’t as tough as they were
I've never had a problem with the dash 8 vs the 400's. Not sure what tough is supposed to mean.
@@TB-um1xz That doors and such don’t fall off after take off. You know, tough as in heavy duty.
packs are off.. must be heavy.. let’s watch the take off roll
Packs are always on. Only time I've done a pack off was in Delhi and it was hot and we were very heavy.
A good 10 seconds from V1 to Vr. That must be a little nerve wracking.
Not really. The 747 was a dream to fly. Thank you for the comment .
708th Sub!
These POV videos are too hard to watch. Way too much "looking around" make them dizzying.
Most viewers had no issues. Actually appreciated this rare insight. Perhaps go stare at clouds, maybe a little more your pace!
No, it's not too hard to watch. This is what we want, idk what you're talking about.
I’m guessing the part that says “ POV “ gone way over your head huh 🤔
Pas une bonne idée la camera sur la tête.
Fantastic perspective! May I feature this landing in one of my next episodes? Of course with a link back to your original video. All the best to you :)
Go ahead! Regards Mike
I’m gonna be a pilot for Qantas when I grow up ❤
Captains POV! Great flying the queen!
19:48 Coffin-corner simulated beautifully :-)
Very much so. It discredits the military radar altitude data. Altitude is always an issue for primary radars. To work as intended the radar also needs a height finding radar.
Sydney is beautiful… Is this one of our well maintained -438ER fleet that QANTAS retired at barely 17 years of age?
You make it look easy.
Thank you! I was allowed to sit in the jumpseat a few times. There was so much to take in that I didn't appreciate it enough.
Absolutely LOVE this pov angle, amazing video!
What's the rego?
Mike, I admired your work with the chemtrail folk a few years ago. Good to see you trying to set this one straight as well. Are you still flying?
TY Larry. Retired now. Just some light aircraft flying sometimes.
Beep the horn
Flat spot on tyre?
No… it was the nose wheel hitting the lights built into the centreline
they were trying to pre-emptively fight breast cancer by leaving the radar on into the gate 😂
