City Square is definitely worth an honourable mention here. Extremely good for harbinger farming (which is also quite profitable on its own) as well as being a small fairly dense and open map with narrow corridors on the side so dece or good layout for basically every mechanic. Also very easy to boss rush on and is connected to Crimson Temple so you can sell connected map drops quite easily. It does have Home (random exceptional gem with quality) but all the other div cards are meh, which is probably what held it back on Gog's list.
one of my favourite for boss rushing with maven influence. Also the bosses are low HP and just roll over before they can launch that one dangerous move.
I really like it because it works very well with Deli Beyond Blue altar strat I chose! My chieftain lacks in single target but the boss always spawns with a pack of magic mobs to explode all over them, and the lack of GG card drops isn't that big of a deal since I managed to get the "Div cards that drop other div cards" altar that prints Patients and Nurses
Worth mentioning that the only two fortunate-drop-enabled maps that connect with eachother feature on your top 10: Dunes/Mesa. This makes it much easier to sustain just those maps and think deserves a bump up as a result, or at least a mention.
Fantastic presentation. I usually hate the "tier list" type videos where people just use the format because well, its meta to deliver this type of information. Then they proceed to drop information in a one liner fashion where your only left with more questions than questions answered. Your delivery was clear and detailed in why you reach these conclusions, great job! Shirt did give me acid flashback tho .
I have to say I love your videos. Very straight to the point, and some might say dry, but there's clearly a lot of thought and knowledge of the game put into them.
I am very surprised by Strand not being in the top 10. Best map for delirium miror farm which is very popular this league. Also a very good map to rush content and be sure you won't miss it like you mentioned with Heist. Great video as always tho
It would make a top 20. Second tier card drop. I think Tower is slightly better for layout though, and both have basically the same cards (nurse at 8 times the drop rate of doctor)
One other aspect i like to see adressed: I am mainly farming delve and harvest this league, so div cards are hardly a factor in what i choose, as i don't get many anyways. I am loving city square because you can run through the entire map very quickly and the boss is easily rushed. It would also be BIS for metamorph strats as well
For new players and old players alike, don't forget that expedition logbooks yield a great number of divination cards. You will get higher end div cards at a faster rate than running juiced maps. And if you do decide to run maps for cards, try using monstrous treasure option on your map device with winged or gilded scarabs for divination cards and extra strong boxes. If you are lucky, you will get between 1-3 diviners strong boxes. Take your time to with diviner strong boxes. Use engineer's orbs for 20% quality. Then spam the diviners strong box like a normal piece of gear. Alt and Aug spamming boxes with Regal orb is the cheapest way to craft strong boxes. Chaos orb the strong boxes if the got the extra $$$. Hope this helps. This method also works for obtaining high level boots for 35 movement speed. Just role +3 level to strong box in tier 16 maps, and always get level 86 boots for elevated speed mod.
I'd like to mention racecourse for a specific strategy. I've been doing legion, harbinger and strongboxes with eater altars, and multi boss maps are pretty good with the harbinger sextant because each boss drops additional shards in that case. Racecourse also has a pretty decent layout for legion, so it works pretty well for harbinger/legion strats. I gave up chasing cards after I got 0 nurse in 100 juiced towers and 0 apo in about 500 ct
One thing the Crimson Temple analysis overlooks is the very high variance in the results. While it is best on average, by far, the "average" is determined over an infinite number of runs. For a fixed number, it is not that unusual to end up with a zero result. For myself, I farmed CT almost exclusively for 2 leagues with a pretty high juicing strategy and have yet to see an Apothocary card! It was fun, but definitely not successful ;)
I snorted at « where nothing can shine at all » I really like the fortunate because it gives me even more reason to run my favourite map - atoll . It’s sunny, which feels much better than dreary ct
ye crimsontemple itself is a cool boss rusher too because the boss is very easy to reach. I run metamorph atlas strat due to how expensive catalysts are and alternate between these 2. It's quite fun.
One map that has the fortunate card that I enjoyed farming is leyline. Ez layout to get to the boss quickly and expeditions would spawn in great places for the new atlas keystone
Nice video. I would like to see some more videos of this with ssf or casual gaming. I dont think about grinding ages to get headhunter pr magebllod but think about better progress. Mesa was a good tip to farm altars. Any other suggestions for fast boss rush with nice layout?
What would you guys suggest among the top 10 here for Rituals? Was thinking either Cemetery or Haunted Mansion (Haunted seems to have better mob count than crimson temple)
Might be nice to have a separate list for boss rushing? I’ve been having fun trying to find a nice 10 map boss rush rota to farms invitations, conquerer maps, etc. It’s a reasonable strat this league, IMO.
The new Maven node has really made it a lot easier to get large numbers of guardian/conq/synth maps, I've been doing this too. I think its probably still worse than altar farming but it's nice to do something else for a bit.
I've had a nice success bouncing between Haunted Mansion and Orchard: adjacent maps are easy to sustain without Singular Focus, you don't get bored farming one map exclusevily, very consistent and simple layouts. Also Haunted Mansion hideout is a nice bonus you can sell as well, while Sanguine hideout is basically free.
It all depends on what strat you are using. There are lower investment strats that have higher income per hour than most players have while farming crimson, but they require a suitable map. When you do 3 maps in the time a crimson farmer does one (with all the boss rushing and altar backtracking on a complicated layout), you can afford to make slightly more than 1/3 of their profit to still come ahead. There are strats that accomplish more than that. Those won't beat the uber-high investment fast builds with high MF farming crimson, but those guys can farm anything with huge profit.
Why are only 'clean' HH cards considered valuable and not The Fiend & Demon included? Since you cannot craft on the belts? Or because you require more to complete a set?
PoorFishWife's research. There should be a 3.22 spreadsheet up soon. Apothecary is drop weight (about) 7.5. Seven Years about 65. For comparison with common cards, The Fortunate is about 1250, The Journalist about 12k, and Rain Of chaos, the most common card, about 120k.
Excellent video. I am currently running Cemetery with legion, but might change to Crimson Temple, I just dislike the layout and the depressing tone of it. Maybe I'll change my monitor settings.
Is there something good about Waterways? Everytime I put that map in my stash I constantly get spammed by buyers to purchase the map (I list it for 3 chaos)
Shouldn't be, just likely people who need it for atlas progression or something. It's not an awful map and is pretty good for Blight, but I wouldn't put it top 10 or close.
There's a lot of options at the moment, delirium with the new Deli keystone works for some people, the new Torment keystone with a very specialised setup works for others, and there's a lot of other things people experiment with. Ideally you are hitting at least 15 Journalist cards per highly-invested map, at that point one Apothecary per hundred maps is the expectation long term.
I would like to add another category that adds value. It's maps with good maps next to it for easier juggle/drop rates of maps to avoif running out of your good maps. Mesa+Dunes. Just to avoid having to juice or buy maps. Alch and go strategy.
i always wondered about Boss boosting(quant and things like tormented spirits), how do they affect certain drops? for example writhing invitation well rolled , would that mean The Infinite Hunger has bigger chance to drop his card(stranglegrasp and high tier currency like exceptional ember) or just means he drops more rare/unique random drops?Same goes for elder bosses etc, is it worth it to make them harder od one should just speed rush white maps and just do invitations
as far as layouts go, isn't city square the best map for altars? (except the ones without a boss), and it's right next to crimson temple. I personally ping pong between these 2.
