It looks so easy, when You do it one hour :D It took about 6 hours and still have not finished everything, trying to rebuild my bike for the first time, and i still need to adjust derraileurs and finish torquing everytinhg :D Thank You, it helps us learn to build and maintain our bikes! keep up this great content
@@matkvaid of ocurse!!! yea it was not an hour lol more like 3-4 because of the stop and starting of the camera and moving everything around but it just takes patience
@@GCPerformance18 ok, now i feel much better :D and i forgot to say thanks - i did my first bar tape by Your video with no electrical tape, not perfect but still quite good result, great info how to wrap like a pro!
So many build videos out there with cinematic color grading but this is the only build video that actually tells me what the hell is going on! Great tutorial
A sweet looking ride for sure! I am sure that the feather-light weight will have you knocking down all of the KOM's on those infamous Florida mountains.
For the brake hose barb tool, if you put just a little bit of masking tape on the hose where the tool clamps down, the hose won’t slide when inserting the barb. Always drove me nuts until I started doing that lol
Pretty dope build and impressive wrenching skills. I kind of agree that the flat wheels and glossy chainring/drivetrain clash. The wheels are killer. It's the gloss drivetrain sticking out. Nice work.
Great video, I’m so dumb when it comes to the mechanics and how the bike is put together but this was really insightful. Beautifully done and the bike looks incredible! Can’t wait to see the next video about how it rides and the weight etc
MR GC PERFORMANCE THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO 📹 IT AS BEEN THE BEST IN- DEPTH VIDEO ON HOW TO BUILD UP A SPECIALIZED FRAMESET WITH DI2 I HAVE EVER WATCHED 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
As the kids used to say, those wheels are fire. I wish you could get the seatpost in forged carbon or similar to kind of match the wheels. It's a beautiful build.
I own both sl7 and sl8, for me the sl8 i dont get tierd looking @ it, its beautiful in that tube shapes are more organic and slender than in the sl7, also the front fork in sl8 is amazing looking from all angles. On top of that sl8 much nicer ride
Según las especificaciones de la batería el conector central se debe de utilizar con prioridad sobre los otros pines para el buen funcionamiento de esta.
Thanks for all the detailed explanations during the build. This is timely since I'll be building my similar bike soon. I had a question for you - why did you choose to use the Muc-off grease for the headset and crankset spindle vs Park Tools or other grease?
I’m using Presta cycle torque wrenches. They have them in almost every torque spec. I also have a discount code for there tools. Gcperformance at checkout
The long black cylinder on the expander plug is doing nothing once it goes below the top bearing. I cut most of it off. It's only for people that run loads of spacers under their stem.
they want iot to renforce that area, if you saw th epics from the broken steerer that cuased the recall, the fork steerer snapped right at that top bearing
@@GCPerformance18 Yes I know, but as long as the black part covers that bearing area then you're good. Anything below is wasted. If you think about it, Spesh have to accommodate all riders, including those that use 8 spacers. If stem is slammed, most of the black part is redundant.
Great video! Enjoyed the way you explained all the stuff m by the way, why did you use a steer carbon cap? The exs handlebar is not compatible with sl8?
Oh you're right, I judged too quickly when I saw the fork inserted at the beginning.. Question for you, your compression ring fell into place really easily it seems. Mine takes a lot of effort and wiggling forward and backward while pushing down. It's maybe one or two millimeters above the bearing. I tried greasing it up too. I suppose when I tighten the steerer cap it will compress down a little more?
For anyone else who stumbles across this, yeah the Gap is normal, as long as you insert the compression plug properly and have space above before the cap it will all tighten up just fine. I think GCP has another video about the gap but if not there are plenty out there. Thanks again boss for putting this up, it really helped! Of course I did prematurely get my compression plug stuck in the stair tube completely disoriented the wrong direction, just having fun and testing it, but another one of your videos showed me how to unstuck it. Which I will need to know how to do again anyway as I figure out how tall I want the stack. As it is with 35 mm spacers on the 49 cm frame, I don't have to cut the compression plug yet, but eyeballing it, it looks like I will if I go shorter by 20 mm or less
When I mentioned how your compression ring plopped down really easily inside the bearing, it was only because the tube wasn't inserted first. Mine also fell right in just fine without the tube installed
Sweet video man. Some very helpful tips and explanations! I gotta say though. Cane Creek Hellbender 70 best BB in the game, even better than ceramic and at a fraction of the cost. Speaking from experience, as I have used both types and different brands.
Great bike! I really like that color of the derailleur hanger! (Now just get a black cassette-lockring;). Question: is this a custom or a future colorscheme of Specialized? Have fun riding!
Hi, nice SL8 build you have over there. I have one question about the bottom bracket installing: So I have a BMC Roadmachine with a BB86 bb interface and I'm planning to bring the frame to a bike shop to have them install it for me because I don't have the pressfit tools. But should I run the rear brake hoses before I bring the frame to the bike shop or I can still do it later? Thanks :D
Love the bike, love the video (very interesting). One question though : why do you ride tubeless ready tyres (if I saw it right) with tubes ? regular clinchers with TPU tubes would be an even lighter setup, wouldn't it be ?

Would you consider using 5 Spokes solid carbon wheel such as black inc. Bike ahead or Xentis or even Corima. I bet it would look amazing.
Interesting to see the SL8 Fact 10 offered in white?

super sweet build!! where did you get that frame? i only saw white sworks frames on the site

It has to be one of the lightest sl8 builds to date
Why didn't you change the rear derailleur cage before installing it on the bike?
The derailer has to be shifter all

Thanks for all the detailed explanations during the build. This is timely since I'll be building my similar bike soon. I had a question for you - why did you choose to use the Muc-off grease for the headset and crankset spindle vs Park Tools or other grease?
its preference, the park tool is way thicker viscosity so I do not want that on the crank spindle
