Winsapce :) wheels look phenomenal
Verry nice bike, a real race-machine. I ordered also a alu chainring black! I wondering if I go faster!?
Pretty much perfect. Love those rotors and the cockpit looks awesome.
thank you so much!!
A cockpit is an enclosed area stop using stupid americanism’s
Nothing better than Favero pedals. Price, accuracy 👌🏼
the absolute best
Looks sweet! I did a similar build with a Pro frameset, full D/A groupset, Roval Rapide cockpit, and Farsports wheels. Way under $14k, and 15 lbs on the dot with all the trimmings.
hell yea
If specialized sold their bikes with Winspace mega, that would be unreal. Love the bar tape.
It's absolutely amazing. Your passion on full display!
Nice weight with everything on it. Thank you
I have a Trek SLR, similar in weight but I'm looking for lighter wheels then maybe 15 lbs for mine. Awesome build 👌🎉
I got it even lighter since then, might do a follow up video on it
A+ Well done. Funny how Winspace Mega's seem boutique to me.
yea Iknow, they are fore sure though those prices for those wheels are very high, but the performance you get by no means does not lack
I just bought Campy rotors for my SL7. I think they're the best looking rotors, and two Campy rotors were only $120 total. That said, your SL8 is bellissima!
Thanks so much!! campy is also super nice I know they are known for being wider rotors too so al ittle hard to adjust
Did you had any chain drop and chainring flex, during high wattage sprints with alugear ?
I heard that their double chainring are not safe and possible injury. Can you tell me about your single chainring experience
single works great I dont have any chainring bend on there, and my sprints are only 1100 watts but maybe under long climbs and havey watts but honestly i have had no issues
Ciao mate, I’m looking for some videos/info about Alugear chainrings because I’m going to change mine with new ones. What’s your feedback about these chainrings, are they 100% compatible with Shimano original ones? And in terms of weight?
yes for the 1x they work no problem I have some good miles on them and i can say they are one of the best 1x chainrings out on the market for the performance and weight
I see you like your seat slammed nice and forward. Nice build .
lmao I have a zero offest post on order already
22:46 dang he got me!
Me too! 🤦♂️
bro shut up lol
Bikes Bangin! Love the boutique parts…. I’ve done a lot of boutique parts w my road n gravel builds.
I absolutly am in love
I run 1x on my roadbike too, with Alugear on Ultegra 165mm cranks (somehow the chainline is better than with 1x SRAM cranks). I have SRAM Rival 11 speed and xx1 chain is indeed the optimal solution. Tried different chains, Flattop, KMC 1x, and XX1 felt the best at extremes of the cassette. Not a huge fan of SL8 but i'm digging the stormtrooper look.
Have the same experience. Alugear chainring is more noisy than Sram. I don't know but the size and shape of the teeht resonating with that arochainring is a bit much takatakataka for me when going to the extrems of the casette. The Chainline seems to be a little more outward too...
@@jtho27 I agree about the slightly more outwards chainline. My suspicion is that the teeth on alugear are also slightly thicker and longer. This and and the subpotimal chainline creates the racket especially on the easiest gear (50-42 in my case). Never dropped the chain though.
Good looking bike, why did you chose Specialized exactly? Not Trek or Scott for example, just curious
Great build! That's a beauty.
Side note: why on earth are 3d printed saddles more expensive? They should be dirt cheap if they're just printing them out of a machine.
yea I have no idea, as soon as you put it out that it is 3d printed the price tag goes up lol
Because of the time each machine takes to print each saddle as opposed to regular production methods.
Development costs, machine production costs and price of ‘novelty’ (much like ‘aero’ in the recent past came at an additional price).
@@GCPerformance18 I find most 3d printed stuff they charge at 400-700% of actual cost to make
Love it, nice and my dream build 💪🏻🏁
thank you so much!!
Pretty nice build, very cool wheels too one peice spokes!! One question though, any reason you went with shimano over sram?
I like shimano better for shifter ergonomics
@GCPerformance18 they do 100 percent honestly I feel like shimano shifts a tad better too. I just like sram for tge removable batteries so I can ride with a spare but other than that shimano is better.
Awesome build, carefully thought of on every parts. Must be amazing to ride. Congrats. By any chance, do you have the SL8 frame only at size 49 for sale?
Yea I do in stock I have the white dune color in a box send me an email gcperformanceyt@gmail.com
61cm?
Hi GC performance.
Great video as always 👍 your bike build came out amazing with great spec and super light too. Love the bars . Look forward to seeing more lightweight parts added. Great job 👏 👏👏👍👍🚴♂️
Looks mega. I've just picked up a new 2021 roubaix frameset and sram force group set for very little. Going to build a comfortable and light(ish) bike for some ultra racing 🚴 💨
Did you adjust your seatpost height when you change your crank length?
I didnt really I know they say you should but I wanted to try a lower saddle height
Congrats on the new baby
Thank you so much!!
Is that a warranty frame? I can only find S-Works SL8s in white - the SRAM Red and the impasto frame set!
yes it is this is something you can not buy, I love this color
Is the tarmac considered to be an all rounder racey, climbing and endurance bike?
Everything. It is lightweight aero bike and the new seat stays are so compliant
Frames & Gear is awesome have the garmin mount for my trek madone SLR
Nice build! Recent dad here also - my tip is to ride as much as you can before sleep deprivation hit you haha
I have "Bianchi Specialissima" size 52 with shimano Dura ace 9170 11 speed, Princeton 4550 wheels- build by my self 6.7 kg. All together 6500.00. I have also SL7- 6.9kg, but the Bianchi is the best bike I have ever had. I would never pay 14 thousand for this thing. I wish I can place pictures here.
I want to se one fo those bikes in person for some reason they look so good rto me
Insane build! Wow. If you had that colour for s works frame would you go for it? You think the 12r carbon worths the extra cost?
yes very nice
Amazing bike. Great build, well done. Is the white here the same as the S-Works with the sort of pearl color to it?
SO SICK!
I bet you probably hit 2000 watts on this thing 😆
@@GCPerformance18 in my dreams!
You could do 50 videos on this bike and it would still be worth at watch!
I have an update video on it
Congrats! I imagine this would look extraordinary with the CRW wheels as well
stay tuned lol
The irony of the Dentistry sign in the background 😂
lmao a match made in heaven
Congratulations and thanks for your content
Very nice. Really like seeing the custom builds. Please show one of the logo decal kits if you ever put one on.
of course
How much did your Ultegra / Dura Ace Combo Groupset cost in total?
I got it for employee purchase so I don’t know the exact but for 1x it’s pretty cheap
Okay nice. From looking at your build, it appears the Cranks and Cassette are the main parts which you would advise upgrading to Dura Ace (or another) instead of Ultegra? Would you have any other advice for maximising performance/value?
Beauty! Congrats on nbd!
Does the Dura-Ace 1x use special teeth or chains? Is it like a DIY, stripped 2x or a Shimano design? Never seen that before on a road bike
She purdy bro, congrats!!!!
Thank you man, might br bringing it out to weston this weekend
That new bike of yours is freaking awesome. I love those new wheels. I have the new D $671400 set. I love him can't quite afford them. Nice megas but man that bike is sweet congratulations
yea I love this bike so much
It looks like a 14k bike!! Nice build.
beautiful bike
It sure is!
How do you find the shifting? I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews with that cassette and front chainring (as a x2)
I love it I have it dialed in for my bike, it works great and looks ncie
this is beast, pro athletic
thanks so much
The SWorks they wouldn't dare give you a miscolored spacer, but the Pro they would? That doesn't make any sense, the spacers should be a common part bin part, they clearly had a bad batch run and I would imagine some SWorks bikes probably also got the same almost black spacers, assuming they all are boxed in the same factory.
This is a slick build. I have a special place in my heart for white bikes. My first road bike was white with exposed carbon fiber and I went with similar setup for my Colnago. I'm trying to find an excuse to buy those wheels.
I think I might have explained that wrong, the spacers I got from the handlebar company they are there own company an d make there own spacers 3dprinted, so one was mis matched from the company I hasve never seen specialized spacers wrong
Beauty of a build!
For the mountains you'd need a heavier cassette and a dual chainring in front. So you actually need an S-Works for 6.8 :) Otherwise - great looking bike! Also, the build video is the best I've seen so far!
I got planet x rtd 90 frame so £400 frame, less than £4000 to have 6.7kg, yes I could maybe go 6.3kg without lower rider limit under 120kg, forgot 2x too
@mlee6050 but you don't qualify for the club of those who spend insane money for the bike :)
@@olegkurovsky3198 guess so, I'm looking at spending about £9k on Trek Emonda ALR but as includes 45mm or 50mm rim depth and a 88mm rim depth wheelsets, think when looked be lighter than the best SLR too
I do what I can since on benefits and not actually work or have a job yet
Would you put Craft Racing Works wheels on your SL8?
Yes I would
Why not Princeton wheels ? Price ?
Looks sick! Congrats on that beauty 👏🏼👏🏼💪🏼
Thanks so much!!
But you can not climb on this bike with this chainring, what is use of light bike if it's not made for climbing?
You can still climb. Especially since he has a 34 at the back. Besides he could just switch to a smaller front chainring if he lived where mountains were. I run thous same setup with 46 chainring and 11-30
@@kimwarner6050 Yes you are correct, probably its all flat where he rides so no need for extra chainring, very nice bike he did
@GCPerformance18 - another awesome build, Grant! Love it! Glad to hear you not murdering the brand names anymore... except for Bjorn...the "j" should sound like a "y". anyway, you're getting there! LOL!
So all the cool kids are turning their hoods in now.😂😂
of course lol
are your frame boost? ive seem that alugear has 3mm offset
my frame is not boost
Are these integrated cabling bikes compatible with ordinary stems and bars? The reason I'm asking is because I want to know whether you can ride these bikes with an ordinary cockpit setup, and extra hose and cable length externally routed along the bars and headtube, so as to be able to try different positions by swapping out the stem and spacers and doing test rides. Once I'm sure of the right position I'd order the right integrated bar and route the hoses through as shown here.
It all depends on the bike's spacer kit. If it was designed to be cockpit-universal, then that model can take any cockpit. Some examples include:
Specialized
Tarmac SL7
Third-generation Venge
Second-generation Allez Sprint
Trek
2021+ Émonda
Second-generation Émonda ALR
Sixth-generation Madone (only if it's running the Émonda's spacer kit)
Cervélo
Second-generation Soloist
Any model with integrated internal routing with an FSA-branded headset (cockpit-universal FSA spacer kit sold separately with some models)
Agree just £4000 or bit less can get you 6.7kg, with 2x
I'm going from tubular 22mm to clincher 25mm and staying on 170mm crank, won't ever use tubeless
That one its better than those 14.000 bucks.really competitive
Veeerryyy niiicceee!! Can’t “weight” to see it get lighter !! 😂
How much is the total price for this build?
Probably around 8000
A wheelset that might be worth looking at are the top of the range 1290 gram Scott all carbon wheelsets @ 60 mm
Yea but I am not a fan of the hookless wheels at all
@@GCPerformance18
I totally agree with U 100% .
That's why l have ×3 sets of the 1st Edition Roval Rapide CLX Aero Wheelsets 51/60
Looking good. The bar tape, though... it doesn't match anything.
yea I am thinking of changing it, it is very busy
Very good specialized bike I like it.
Shimano 1x front derailleur, standard cassette on the back = Florida mountain climber special.
Super awesome bike buddy! How about the CRW wheels? Any thoughts on that?
I might already have them on my bike
Wow 15lbs and with pedals that's a build that is 2.75 pounds lighter then my madone slr 9, congrats !!!
thanks so much
where can i find a white 10r frame like this?
It’s impossibleeeee
Why the 36g TPU and not the 19g tubes?
the 19g tpu tubes I had two small slits on around the valve for no reason sdo I wanted the thicker tubes for better security
So if you get the EXS bars get them 10mm longer then usual?
depends on the company but yes for roval this is 75mm reach and roval is 85 reach
@@GCPerformance18 ok thought the stem was measured differently. The EXS Aerover is 70mm reach.
Grant what is the weight of the 160 Carbon Ti rotor with the adaptor?
I forget the exact amount but It was like 9 grams lighter then an xtr rotor
Very nice looking bike. I would still need a 2x but other than that 👍
yea they have them and thank you
How dare you build this!!!!
Without me.
you were sleeping while I was working
😂
@GC Performance can you use this chain with 2x shifting or only with 1x shifting?
Only 1x
What chain(s) is/are compatible with both shimano crank and sram cassette?
maybe kmc
She’s Beautiful !! 🔥🔥🙌🏼🏆
thanks os much
That’s a beauty! Do your back a favour and stick in that spacer if you can!
it felt very nice for the 60 miles I am happy with it
@@GCPerformance18 sorry it sounded like it was a regret
Those wheels would fall apart. Our roads here are shite
dammm sounds rough, I would get a roubaix for over there
What black chain is this ? Link To purchase ? Thanks
sram eaglen 12 speed chain but it can only be used with shiamno 1x
You can get the elves 3d printed saddle for $180
Great build (and i get that the gearing works for where you live); but when you brag about the weight we start getting into like fixie hill climb bike territory..."Its so light; but I've omitted brakes, gears, and a and a saddle!" lol
"Ive got a set of handlebars under a pound, goes up a hill as fast as I can run em"
Can you get any white bar end caps?
I am sure someone sells them
Maybe a zero offset seatpost so the saddle doesn't look like it's pushed too forward.
yea I addressed that at the end of the video, I already have one on order
just a question? What level do you ride at?
By myself I’ll ride at 21-23mph I’ll do group rides anywhere from 26-31mph.
nice! light indeed
so perfect a bike shop is right next door to a dentistry
hahaha, its a match made in heaven
Since its 1X you should try Rotor rings
I looked at them but they were out of stock
I like the dentistry in the background. Stereotypes confirmed
Nice build ! How About in 52cm ?
super light lol
dammn this bike looks so good
Shift/brake levers look non UCI
Tell Uci to meet me in the parking lot.
All this talk of weight and aero and still there´s caps on the valves.. but really nice bike..😉
yea caps on valves is extra weight
@@GCPerformance18 see you get it ;-)
Hey. What was the frame weight for that bike?
I did not get it
6:06 my dura ace crank matches great with 105
im telling you its the easiest wayyy
nice bike!
Dang so nice
thanks so much
my sram red cranks distract people from my sensah empire groupset lol
That’s the move 😆
I didn’t hear, what’s your gear ratios??
52 front 11-28 rear
You remind me of the hype beast builder but extremely slow rider
Yes lol
Well its not a SL8 , a true SL8 would be a full Specialized & Roval components. Urs is a Hybrid. ( hidden battery ) . Did l hear u r using a One -by ???? My S-WORKS SL8 54CM 6.72 Kilos complete ride away . Pedals & Computer Mount. All Dura Ace except 4 my pedald Time Xpro 15
Cycling industry thanks you for existing 😂
