Good afternoon Christina, perfect!! The blanket looks so lovely. I think you selected a perfect spot for using it. I think the finger knit/crochet is better, I am sure the thick rochet needle will give me some difficulty in holding it. It is such a pleasure to see you at work, you just have so much patience and perseverance. You are very encouraging as well, just a quiet determination to get the project finished but also to enjoy whilst working away. Hopefully you take a break and enjoy a delicious coffee or a rumble with those energetic hairy babies. The video was most enjoyable, there is always so much to learn from your videos. Do take care, enjoy a peaceful Saturday afternoon and keep cosy. Many blessings, kind regards. Elize.
Thank you so much for this video tutorial! You truly have a calm, confident and straight-forward teaching style and that helps so much! I have never tried finger-knitting but thanks to you I am excited and ready to tackle it! Thank you!
Thank you 🙏 for your kind comment and I really appreciate your feedback! I hope you try this figure knitting method with a future project! Happy Holidays 🧶♥️♥️
Hello! By far the best, easiest, most classic, and relaxed "teach me how" video I have come across. I am hooked! 😇 A beginner who now has the technique, knowldege and "fear not" to create these beautiful blankets either knitted or crocheted, by hand or hook. Thank you!! Your companions too are lovely!
Your tutorials are the best videos. Yours is the first one that made sense and was easy to follow. Can’t wait to start my blanket. Thanks for sharing your talent!!❤
This is absolutely gorgeous!!!! My mom used to crochet all the time... she never taught me, but I really want to try this. Thank you for such a detailed, wonderful video.
Gonna try this!!! So comforting and really nice!! Your color scheme is so light and beautiful! Your taste is just so classic and artistic! Thank you so much for sharing everything!
I really hope to try and make a blanket like this sometime this winter! It's so beautiful, and I am grateful that you are willing to teach a beginner! Thank you for sharing your talent and experience with others! 😊
You make it look so easy that I might even be able to make one. Might have to wait until after Christmas so I can save the extra money though. 😄. Thank you for being a good teacher. Ruth in Illinois.
Thank you so much Ruth for your kind words! Totally understand about saving money! Trying to make DIYs that are budget friendly in these times!! So glad to hear you enjoyed the video!❤️🙏🎨
This is so helpful. This is my third time watching. I started hand crocheting a blanket as a test and have been working on it. I realized today I haven’t done the extra crochet at the end and I think it’s also a little tight. Food to finish this little tester then try again. Thank you so much!!
Omgggggg so beautiful!! Going to try it by hand until I get my hooks- thank you so much for your videos! They are so well explained- your an amazing teacher!! Please keep them coming! ❤❤😊😊
Thanks Christina. This was not intimidating as I imagined. I plan to purchase yarn and hook and give this a try. You are great at explaining the technique. Love the puppies being involved. Deborah from North Carolina 😊❤❤❤
Gorgeous throw as usual. Great video and the explanation is awesome I think it looks easier with fingers? Ps: I have the same top as you are wearing lol 😂 🤗❤️❌⭕️👍❤️❤️
THE DOGS!!!! FREAKING CUTENESS OVERLOAD ❤ I only watch your videos because of the dogs😂 just kidding I love your work. I’d really like to know. Where can I find that chunky crochet needle?
Thank you 🙏 for your kind words and I really appreciate your thoughtful comment ♥️ Dogs are such a blessing and they are beautiful creatures! Adorable in every way ♥️ I recommend looking on amazon for a large crochet hook, 18,20 or 25 mm hook. 🤗
Loved this one. I started finger knitting chunky blankets but have been wanting to learn finger crochet as an alternative, to make looser blankets and experience with some 6 weight yarns. Could you possibly do an additional video on finger crocheting the double and triple stitch? Those may be the wrong terms, I’ve heard there are American terms and British, there is a Half Double as well? Anyway I’d be thrilled if you would. No one else has done it. Thank you!
Would it be possible to get an image that shows all of your chunky blankets side-by-side so that we can compare the patterns and that includes the fingernails too? No I would find that really helpful when deciding which one I would like to do!😊
Большое спасибо за ваши добрые слова, которые очень ценны, и спасибо за подписку, это действительно помогает моему каналу на TH-cam продвигать его в русскоязычных странах! ❤️🙏🎨
Is There a pattern available for this particular one you are doing? Thanks for the great video. I like to use a pattern with a vid. Thanks so much for sharing this. I can't wait to get started.
Hi again, @TheReclaimedHeirloom, it's Candy in Huntsville, Al, so I started this blanket using my hands and I wish I could send you a picture! It's coming out very nice, but I have a question- is your blanket a bit heavy , I'm 6 skeins in and it does feel heavy- I'm using the Yarn Bee Chunky Knit because it's what I have and figure I would use it up, is this ok? Does the blanket gets heavier being a 5ft x5ft? I'm not complaining, but more just wondering if it's ok with the yarn I'm using? LOL Thank you so much for your wonderful videos!!! I cant wait to do more!!! Thank you Candy
Hi Candy, So glad you’re making the giant chunky blanket! I have used the “Yarn Bee” from hubby lobby and used 6 skeins for a large size and you are absolutely correct that it’s not as heavy when I compare it to the “Bernat Big Blanket” yarn. The yarn size is about the same size. I think to answer your question, it should get heavier with a more skeins. This XL chunky blanket would feel lighter if I used 6 skeins regardless of yarn brand. So I personally think if you add 3-4 more you definitely feel more weight and heavier with all the softness!! ♥️♥️♥️ I used 10 skeins for the blanket in the video. Let me know if you do go for more skeins and keep me posted on what you think for weight! It already sounds beautiful 🤩 Chunky knits and other large size yarns are so much fun to work with! It’s a great way to learn and very therapeutic 🤗
So the way you started the blanket looks different than yhe way the blanket ends. I mean the first row and last row of the blanket look different. I know how to do it but is there a way to make the end of the blanket when it’s done this way look the same as yeh first row that was made or a way to bind off the blanket? I made a blanket in thsi way and was just wondering if just letting it nd like that was ok? Thanks for any help anyone can give me. I’m trying to make both the first and last row look the same.
Hi Ana! It takes time to get used to the loop sizes, next time try a few rows first to get the hang of the loop size if its too tight just unravel and start again. This has happend to me when I first started out! ❤️🙏🎨
Many thanks 🙏 for your thoughtful comment and kind words ♥️ We are just taking a break and spending time with family. Definitely will see you soon and sending you positive vibes & 🤗
I'm so happy to hear from you. I'm glad to hear you both are ok. Take care always and stay safe. Can't wait to see another upload. @@TheReclaimedHeirloom
