- Decided to make a little video to help others get their xbox ones orange light issues all figured out!
YOU MUST USE A XBOX 360 SLIM POWER BRICK.
And I know I can figure this out but don't know how to put in a plug.😂😂 - เกม
My xbox one was making a faint sound when I tried to turn it on and I didn’t know what to do, so I swapped power bricks and tried this, and now my xbox is working perfectly. Thanks so much, you’re a real one bro
This absolutely works! At first attempt, the Xbox one made a noise but the light did not come on, pushed the button again and it worked. Thank you. Just be careful when bending the prongs, only need to be opened slightly.

hy i have 2 xboxs one i use n the one i gave my friend i let my bro barrow the cords n he said he was gonna buy it from me but my buddy tryna save a lil bit n just tryna play a game he play on his phone pubg n now he can i sent him with the cords today i hope he can get on but thanks bro this is a good temporary fix and it still work on my 360 too that bih is universal now lol
I can verify that this works. Mine took a crappy on me last night. I went searching for solutions while I ordered a Xbox one power supply from Amazon! Anyways I found this video and it really does work. My NEW Xbox one cord will be here tomorrow I paid for 2 day shipping! This is a temporary fix guys. I wouldn't recommend using thus method for more then a few days, 1 week most. Because the power usage is much higher for a Xbox One the a Xbox 360 Slim! Could burn the inside of your Xbox AC plug. But that's your choice. Like he said (AT YOUR OWN RISK) this method is great tho. Kudos to the person who figured this out.
Works!!! I am so happy!! I did exactly what was told in the video. I have a external hard drive that takes the power from the Xbox, was playing Star Wars Battlefront, downloaded updates and then finally watched a dvd with the BluRay player. I did not overload the 360 power brick. It just runs with the fan at max speed. Works and the 360 power brick is definately more quiet than some of the 3rd party generic Xbox One power bricks. (I tested the setup for about 30 minutes. If any problems arise with longer use, I will write here what happened).
Good tips! Also wouldn't hurt to turn off instant on so it doesnt hurt the xbox. This isn't a final fix but it will help till then. Also, so far been using this method since Christmas last year and still going strong!
@@ChaosUcs Yeah, I did turn instant on to off position. Also connected the 360 power brick to an extension cord with a separate on/off switch. I turn the power off when not using the Xbox One. Thanks for the tip. 👍👍

This method does work and works for me, seeing how my Xbox One power brick started to smoke after 20 minutes, anyways if your going to do this make sure to take your time and not rush, great temporary fix and my new power brick is on the way, thank you my man!
It will smoke anyway if you use psu that is 10.9 amps on 17 amps console

Wow. Thanks much. Saved me a few weeks with no xbox. I was in a heavy battle with a borderlands 2 boss on my xbone about 80% of the way. Took a break n left for 30 min but when I came back the Xbox off unable to start. Tried all the troubleshooting I could find for the power brick but no luck this time I'm irritated af as well. Turned out I had the same prob as you, orange light but then off once it's plugged in the Xbox or the Xbox is activated, its just dead af. I was gonna risk money on a 3rd party unconfirmed PSU or plorp allll the money on Microsoft+wait time. (You saved me from what would be a (57$ Microsoft repair for my PSU) idk how but finding your video turned random old scrap I saved into a free fix for this. Thanks man

You can replace the capacitor in the xbox one power brick there super easy and cheap to buy with very minimal soldering skills needed. Did mine a year ago and still works.

God sent. American in Australia who brought my Xbox along. Instead of buying a converter for $140 aud I bought an Xbox 360 for $30 aud and this works like a charm. Three small ticks coming from the power supply every 10 minutes or so but other than than not a single complaint.

I bought a new power brick and it stays orange then when I push the button i here the noise but it won’t turn on but on the Power block it flash green then goes back to orange? Idk man I’m so confused 😂

When I was bending the prongs I cracked the case in between the two, it works but there’s a very quiet sound that I believe is the current, is it worth it or should I stop?
Should work however maybe use some electrical tape to secure that you will be safe.
I’m having a hard time bending them. I removed the middle plastic and I’m trying the back of a hammer and pliers but nothing has worked to move it. How did yours move to the sides?
I used like a sturdy knife. Obviously the dull side.

works in 2021, i picked up a xbox one unit only, had a spare xbox adapter, thought it was xbox one, alas it was xbox 360 slim, broken the middle plastic tab, then i slightly cracked the plastic twisting a flathead between the prongs, but was enough to allow it to plug in...WORKS

No. Not if it's 360 slim. Just do what's in this video. They do sell adapters online for the original 360 but I know nothing more about that

It's still working for me. This is a temporary fix. I'm not claiming it as permanent fix.

Well its probably better never to use it back on the 360 once you start the process
couldnt you cut the 360 wire and one wire to then join them with the little colored wires inside?

It works for me, but the power supply fan stays on the whole time, even after I turn off the Xbox. I just unplug it when I'm done, but does anyone else have this prob?

Update: It's April 10, 2020. My xbox one is still running. This isn't a PERMANENT FIX. Just enough for you to keep playing until you get a replacement. At your own risk. The day I started using this method was the day I posted this video. Please comment if you have ANY questions and I'll try to reach back at you.❤ Please don't think this is a permanent fix. PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME AND BEND THEM SLIGHTLY. It's better to bend them a little than too much.
Edit: In the first week May 2020, I bought a new 3rd party brick made for the xbox one. I had no problems with my 360 brick however, I didn't want to take any risks. I used this method for over a year with no issues. I would recommend NOT to run that brick setup as long as I did cause of the risks.

I wouldn't use this for a long term thing however I used mine for over a year. I just bought a new brick.

Pry it open with plyers. Stick them between the prongs and twist. Thought I was screwed until I realized it was plugged in upside down.
My slim died, but a friend gave me his old Xbox without a chord.
I made it work by using an old 360 power chord.

The capacitors on these XBOX ONE power supplies swell up after a while. I opened mine up and there are three right next to each other. One of the capacitors had a swollen top. I didn't feel like messing with it so I went out and just bought a used power supply. Came with a 30 day warranty.
