You have made a really good job of cleaning up the rusty bits, but I find it is easier and much better in the end to take a pile of rusty bits along to the local sand blaster and get them turned back into new parts, most sand blasters also offer an etch prime service, so there is not so much urgency to get them painted up. Good luck! Chris B.

@@philwesty21 Unfortunately that is the way with sand blasters, I have my own sand blaster which I blast the stone in the house with, but I will use that out in the field where the sand will not case a problem,(like in did in the house), it is a really handy thing if you can just take it in and pick it up new in 2 weeks, you can also see all of the faults! As I understand it, the thing which goes wrong in the breather is the rubber valve mechanism which maintains a partial vacuum within the crankcase of the engine. You can test it with a manometer, and you can get a service kit if needed to repair it.

No worries - those suspension cans were fun. Your guide was great. Looking forward to your episode on adjusting it once installed so i can see where ive gone wrong!

AM2 is Dyane 6 or Ami 8 - which would suggest a 'ram air' intake off the top of the fan housing, straight into the air box
I think the forth number of the engine number denotes its year of manufacture. Is it a black or red engine tag?

      It's black.

So it's probably seventies! What's the forth number in?
