- While the CX-70 is indeed a midsize, two-row five-seater, it’s essentially the same size as the CX-90. And similar in most other ways, too. Why? Find out in this Quick Spin.

They really didn’t need to create a new model badge. All they had to do was offer a CX90 “3rd row delete” option.
it was a search engine optimization decision.
But who would want "3rd row delete" on their fender or hatch, I'd rather see CX70
@@MrCheeto01 They wouldn’t, you would just see CX90. If a manufacturers offers a mudflap option, it need not be displayed on the fender, so why would the presence or absence of a third row need to be?
@@fordhouse8b for the very reason they place CX90 on the vehicle, otherwise just mark them all as 'Mazda" with no indication of model or trim
@@MrCheeto01 So what about the mudflap option? Younever addressed why that option need not be clearly marked on the vehicle. Why not CX90MF if it has mudflaps?
Dear Mazda, please continue developing a Mazda 6 sedan replacement using the Mazda 7 nameplate. Make it a beautiful lift-back with a 350hp inline 6. I will buy!!
I like the sedan too but Mazda doesn’t have the funds to put money into sedans
Yes I agree, bring back the 6 and 929
Dear Mazda, I want the cx60 from Europe.
Exactly !!! ..maybe as a CX5 replacement. 🤔
Get the CX-50. It has slightly more interior space than the CX-60
Yes we need the cx60 plss
Dear Mazda,i WANT a new SEDAN!
I don’t see any new sedans in its future. I know someone who works in management at Mazda and they told me there are no future sedans in the pipeline.
I bought one. Top-spec turbo s in the sand color, tan leather interior. It’s great. Only one kid so didn’t want three rows. Not as quick as I’d like but I’m coming from a ‘22 g70 3.3t which is quicker than people know. Smooth, quiet, comfortable. The tranny tunnel encroaches on your leg room at the knee. A byproduct of the engine being so far back, I assume. The SiriusXM / fm radio interface is garbage, but I don’t even use it with wireless apple carplay. Sun roof should open more. Ventilated seats work very well. Better than my G70 did. I’m very happy so far, and see us keeping this for 10+ years which was the idea.
Drove one on a work trip. I am now disgusted every time I get in my highlander
So the 70 has a little organizer where the third row would be when folded down? Otherwise a 70 and a 90 are essentially the same when the 90 has the third row folded away? That 70 has to be at least 5k cheaper to justify its’ existence.
And that’s the problem; it’s not. That’s 100% should’ve been called the Cx-90 Sport or something. Not a whole new vehicle
Sadly about $2,000 more.
Mazdas have gotten higher, but the luxury touch is there, and the sales have improved.
Love the look of this vehicle on the road.
Mazda CX-89.9
I recently read a review of the CX70 on car and driver and it impressed me, this confirms my feelings.
It's a perfect car! I love Mazda. I have a 323 4x4, it's amazing!! I had several Mazda during my life
Powertrain is too new… Need a few more years to prove reliability. The 90 has plenty of recalls..
PHEV CX-90 is the worst off right now from what I could tell.
John? John!!!!!!
I know it will never happen, but Mazda: Make us a Miata XL; maybe a third larger, keep the great handling and add that sweet I-6.
They take their 'sports car DNA' Would be nice if they made more than just the junior Miata.
Why no exhaust tips to compliment the inline6 especially being the sporty version of the cx 90?
This would help the rear bulge look which to me is ugly..but everything else is looking good.
Mazda's usually get great reviews from auto reviewers and journalists, yet I see so few on the road, and quite a few Mazda dealerships around me closed years ago.
I think it's regional. They are VERY popular around the DC area.
That’s big.
❤ Mazda
Honda CRV Hybrid far better ✅
Where’s John’s voice?
Driver legroom and space less than Mazda 3/6. Feels too tight for 6'+ driver.
Interesting , NO mild hybrid. Kinda surprised. seems to be where the market is
🔥🔥🔥
They starting to look like Acuras MDX 😮
I like Mazdas (I own two) but I'd stay away from this new six cylinder and eight speed transmission drive train for awhile. It will take 2-3 years to work out the bugs.
I know Like I said, they ditched the third row because of small cargo under there. But that’s Just fine with me.
But how do you transport potatoes from the garden in the trunk?
@@HeadlinerMoscow I have no idea.
Too bad they are neglecting the CX5. badly needs a exterior redesign
I'mma just tear the back seats out of my CX90 and call it good.
Cx 90 without the 3rd seats... not worth the outrageous price.
not everyone needs seats for 4+ ppl...and some welcome the larger hatch/load area. VW Crossport has my eye too.... 🏁
Mazda lineup is now a mess. So many models that resemble and overlap with each other.
Boom!
Good car! It’s a pity we won’t see her in Russia because of the sanctions. But, an unknown and, as it turned out, wonderful world of the Chinese automobile industry opened up for us. But, an unknown and, as it turned out, wonderful world of the Chinese automobile industry opened up for us. Cars that are not much inferior, and often more attractive in terms of price-quality ratio and more technologically advanced, than many European and American brands. If anyone is interested, this is a line from premium brand Lixiang (L9, L6). And also Geely (Monjaro, Tugella, ATLAS), HAVAL (JOLION, DARGO, POER KINGKONG), TANK (300, 500)
The length differences between the CX50 and CX90 are significant. Everyone thought that the 70 would have split that difference.
It's almost like the development team forgot about their school project until the morning before it was due and could only think to rip out the back seat.
The cost to service/repair the CX-70 and CX-90 with this inline 6 will be astronomical. It’s already an expensive sticker and that additional cost must be remembered
What kind of repairs are you talking about
@@JaketheSnake-lz1pq engine related…. For instance, the timing chain. The timing chain is located in the rear. To replace the timing chain, you would have to remove the entire engine. The amount of labor involved in that is both timely and costly. This is just my opinion though.
@@frankcuttita4045 timing chains last 150k to 200k most transverse engine vehicles the engine will be pulled to its is still a 8 to 12 hour job on any new car you buy today
What's scary 😱 is that Mazda mechanics 🧰 are not that great in the United States 🇺🇸 with that kind of technology in there vehicles. Mazda mechanics 🧰 are average at oil changes
@@frankcuttita4045Calm down. Most vehicles with chains never have them replaced and last forever. Unless it's an audi.
Is this the 17th or the 25th basically-identical blob SUV from Mazda? It's hard to keep track. Bollocks Mazda for cancelling the Mazda6 in favor of another lookalike rolling amoeba.
Gotta sell. Blame the consumer.
Too expensive, for that price just get a Lexus … does not depreciate as fast as
If Mazda had done what Honda did to Pilot to make the Passport, I would order one today. The back is too ugly and long for an empty nester who still wants something different.
More and more modern cars don't have names. They're using letters & numbers. Mazda gets a free pass bc they've always had numbers.
Um, Ford Model T
@@lukerinderknecht2982 Is Model T a modern car, yes or no?
I blame Lexus...
@@K03sport I blame Cadillac. They're the standard of the world which started doing this in early 2000s. The only Cadillac that still uses a name uses a hybrid name. "Escalade CT600". Like what the fk is CT600? What's wrong with "Escalade"? So stupid 🤣
Yu seem to b dng the sm thng w wrds.
🤝☀️✌️
Absolute bollocks missed opportunity to bring the CX60 and its PHEV variant. Send this nonsense back.
gasaholics :)
Mazda I’m sorry but this is pointless. Just fold the 3rd row down n boom 2 row midsizer 😒😒😒
Dear Mazda-You are not a luxury brand-stop charging luxury prices.
Yet their sales are higher than ever. Go figure.
Tell me you haven’t driven a Mazda recently without telling me. 🤦♂️
Exactly what I have said. Mazda will never be taken seriously as a premium brand. Only bringing in a luxury brand(Amati) can save Mazda now.
Mazda doesn't make sports cars.
What a lazy attempt by Mazda on this model! Fail…
$50,000 + for a Mazda 🙈.
Mazda Corporation, u better gets some better mechanics 🧰
I stopped watching pbs
And?
Why do you think anyone else GAF?
Not me, they have some good content, and a streaming app.
Gas lit
