You can see how the modern cars and all the interfering electronics are confused as to what's going on and is taking power away from wheels and putting it to others, making everything behave weird, trying to straighten out based on software programming, even when you turn stuff "OFF", it's never fully off in case of what it thinks is an emergency, so you can't sue the manufacturer. Older cars are just putting the power down as intended and as the driver gives the inputs. Not a moment before or after. No buffering, just man and machine. Proper driving.
Biggest bullshit ever if you have the button to turn it off then it's off. You can feel traction control and esp very easily you would know if it couldn't turn off and normally only economy cars don't have the option to turn it off every performance car you can turn it all off.
It's not traction or stability control that is making the wheels do odd stuff on the audi, it's the programming in the computer controlled awd trying to send power to different wheels looking for grip with super limited traction. With better tires, it might do better, but the driver and awd computer are trying to accomplish different things.
The RS6 has wrong tires and size for snow and ice! Wide and low profile is totally wrong on snow and ice! Narrow and high profile tires with spikes can make any car run on ice and snow!
On low grip surface, most important thing, #1 is weight. You can outrun all powerful cars with 800kg four wheel drive 1 litre NA engine car, especially on such slow track, like this in video. Thats why old Subarus and Evos are doing well in this video as they are much lighter and also they use proper ice tires.
Hahaha this looks like good fun for people that want to gentle on their rides and still get that drifting action what a great idea whoever came up with this event
Coming from a guy that has owned a few gc8 sti's, evo6, gt4, ect in Canada . It's about what winter tire is on the car and how much tread is left more so than anything else. There all going to death traps if you have crap tires.
Oh wow the amount of people blaming the cars or the drivers for "bad performance". First of all. All of them were just having fun not prolly clocking speeds on that day. Second of all. Tires mean EVERYTHING when you drive on ice. You just cannot perform anything when you drive with all season tires like the M5 and RS6 did. You need at least studded tires but prefer spiked tires on pure ice. Narrow or not if you do not have spikes or studs you are in big trouble when you want to go fast on ice.
This is a damn good way to learn to drive if everyone respects distance . 4:32 Oh no ive overspun *slides at 15-25mhp* shiiiiiiiiiiit *nudges snow wall* Ok reset *reverse* no dmg but some snow stuck 2 ur bumper XD.
That is a good upload. It was interesting to see how those various vehicles performed in snow. I appreciate it would have been a bit much for you to do, nonetheless, knowing what tyres each car were riding on would have been very useful to know. Type of tyre: winter/all season, spiked/chained, manufacturer..

But the celica is fwd or awd?
But the celica it's fwd or awd?
Mirkolippi Lippi the Celica GT4 is full time AWD, an incredibly badass machine!
Correct Name of that Celice are GT Four (4).
4 wheel drive :)
Brad Carpenter It has a model without Turbo which has 170HP and Front wheel drive which called Celica GT.
Evo's & Subaru's look so at home doing this...😎👍
It's what we're born to do ;-) (GC8 driver)
That old white Lancer on narrow tires is killing it!
It probably is the RS version, with mechanical diffs, no AYC at the rear.
And it had 4 people inside lmao
It had the most weight with 4 people inside and proper skinny tires 👌
That is the car of Gigi Galli, he knows how to drive it
Those are spike tires. Very narrow but those are like rally tires for ice / heavy snow. Goes like on rails

@@bfcricky not on a lot of modern cars, no

All the Focus fans are malding at this comment. But so true lol. They were nowhere near as composed on the snow/ice.
All the nice 90' JDM Cars... Im still love them since i was teenager❤️
The snow really shows that the RS6 is carrying way too much weight.
Owner must have been very frustrated
alexlam24 definitely, a lot of money just to get outperformed by 1990’s japanese economy cars
The RS6 has wrong tires and size for snow and ice! Wide and low profile is totally wrong on snow and ice! Narrow and high profile tires with spikes can make any car run on ice and snow!
MI Q it still looks like a building gliding over the snow.
Probably traction control or something like that
no stupid music or commentary just engine sounds as it should only ever be! thanks!!
Toyota celica GT-four - one love.
good choise
Ля такую идеальную как на видео нам уже не видать.
What a family friendly event, that car full of people drifting was awesome.
The driver of the e46 was an absolute champ, didn’t even need awd lmao
Tariq Winter tires and some skills
And a well balanced M3 chassi
better tires and lighter car... Its all about the grip/weight ratios..
RWD is better to drift in snow then AWD
@@snois2 both are better
The ST205 Celica looks the best 👌
Agree
Yes !!! I believe a same !!
The white evo 9 was awesome
The evo 10 was cool too the S-AWC keeps the evo 10 almost planted two different ways to go fast around the corners.
I love the way AWD cars understeer into oversteer, I no joke find zero-opposite lock drifting mesmerising.
The GT-Four is rare, especially in left hand drive
Converted or rare EU Spec LHD

0:51 Andorrano!! ✌🏽❤️🔥
Always loved celica gt fours
Thay are just supras, but with awd
slightly diffo power
Ford Focus looks like it’s struggling with its setup. Unnatural system
Right, you can see the part time awd doing weird things off on throttle
Yeah was interesting vs the Mitsubishi's system which looked more natural
I think the RS has suspension that's wayyyy too stiff for ice racing
nice to see Evo's in their natural habitat.
That white evo driver making it look easy
0:44 that was probably the fastes lap ever XD
2:34 how to avoid embarrassment after failing in the drift, do some donuts in the snow
That thing looked so much fun to drive.
Still having fun though
2:53 that's some nice awd right there XD

That audi and BMW wagon need to just go home😂
while audi is awd and bmw is rwd
the m5 is 500hp v10 rwd, it's hard to drive on the snow
Literally the slowest BUT never ending growing channel
hehehe imma beat that record/ lmaoo
the white evo 9 was fireeee
Audi 50% , Mitsubishi 100% , BMW Touring 20%, Subaru 100% , amazing Toyota GT FOUR !
This just makes me feel like I'm watching a replay of people drifting at Chamonix in Gran Turismo 6.
its not about better cars, its about better drivers !!!!
Its about the tires. Basically nothing else

Celica GT4 I think most underrated JDM car there is. RS6 was way too heavy and wrong tires for ice.
You can really see the active yaw control in the early evo.
it was considered a cheat in WRC by some for a reason!
The E61 M5 is RWD, not AWD
so is the e46 m3, but who cares? just some cars having fun!
