@Nailcareereducation Thank you Suzie , this is a brilliant Nail system! These Nail tips/covers are perfectly shaped & the length is perfect! These tips are "Special" & very different from other Nail tips , in that These are made of Soft Gel!! So they are very Durable , bond to the natural nail better , & they Soak off very nicely! Love this System! It's esp good for me as I have such trouble w/my Non -Dominate hand , & this System makes it easier for me to do my Non - Dominant hand 😍 Thank you so much Suzie for doing this video 😍♥️💅
This system has honestly been a revolution for me, I've worn 6 sets of Gel X nails on myself so far and I've applied 2 sets on clients. I've got the technique/product amount down to a T so I never have issues with it spilling out the sides, I always file the cuticle down to a perfect blend with first a carbide bit (or hand file) and then a natural nail cuticle bit so the grow out is totally smooth. All 3 of us got solid 3 week wear with 0 lifting whatsoever (and I didn't even file inside the tip, that extend gel is the strongest adhesive gel I've ever encountered, I use it for my crystals now too and I wore a full set of solid pixie crystals for 3 weeks without losing a single gem even though I was working on clients the whole time). I'm a pretty good sculptor and forms are my forte but what this system has really done for me is save me time. I can apply a set of Gel X nails from prep to polish in 1-1.5 hours flat while a sculpted full set takes me 2-3 hours and the Gel X nails soak off completely in 20 minutes tops (compared for 30-40 minutes for acrylic). I offer Gel X to my clients as an "express full set", for the clients who want perfectly shaped and filed extensions but don't want to sit for upwards of 2 hours and for the clients who would rather I spend more time on intricate surface nail art rather than spend 4+ hours on a creative acrylic set. With the skills of a proper nail tech, this product absolutely can be mastered to perfection.
after applying the tips and perfecting the cuticle, do you buff the surface of the tip, apply polish, cure, then brush the extend gel wherever you want crystals etc then cure, then gel topcoat?
@@cogaidoconjenny no they are made of soft gel. Like a gel polish formed into a nail. Over a few weeks they may lift but after doing like 10 sets they DO NOT BREAK OR CRACK EVER. so durable!
My nail tech started doing this about a year ago and my nails are much healthier with thee than with acrylics. Luckily, she never damaged my nails with acrylics, but changing to Aprés nails was the best thing ever! I love them!
missmia196 Cut down the tips then drill the nail until you’re left with a then layer. Soak your nails in acetone for about 15 minutes and they’ll peel off. OR you could be bad and impatient like me and peel them off before they’re ready.😬
Hahaha My dad was so nice when i first started out, he bought me a whole little dremel kit and everything, he was like "i saw they use drills and i thought this would help you out" it was so sweet hahaha
Omg that's so sweet..my dad always hated when I did anything with my nails. He'd say "take off those bear claws before I rip them off" 😂 I wouldn't even wear them that long back then. He hated on everything I did lol but he's dead now so it's all good. 😂 Tell your father often how much his support means to you. He deserves to be praised for that. He sounds like an amazing father. ❤️
Same, not a tech either and I got them when they first came out to learn, while it’s harder to do them on yourself than someone else it still was really easy to learn.
LifeWithLowee Thanks. I was reading their website. It almost sounds like you can backfill with the Extend gel but I’m not sure how durable that would be since the arch would be further down.
so glad i saw this. I will never return to a nail salon. They have disappointed every time and buffed my nails to nothing and ripped off my nails. I’m in a re-growing process but after this I’m doing my own nails
We LOVE this system for special occasion nails. Weddings, proms, vacations. Ladies that really want a beautiful set of nails but dont want to keep up with acrylics. It works so well for that! We also use our regular OPI LED lamps for that 30 second cure. Whole hand in at once! Great video, Suzie♡
I've been using their product as a DIY for a year now. I love them. I had an issue with the extender gel not reaching all the way to the end of my natural nail underneath and then lifting off. I reached out to them and they sent me a video and explained what I was doing wrong and then sent a follow up email a week later to make sure I was good and not having any more issues. Their customer service is amazing!
You are amazing. I am 58 years old and I love to do my nails. I have learned so very much from you. You are the best educater of nail care and beautiful ways to design nails. I will continue to watch your videos. I wish I could get you to do my nails. You are so talented. Thank you for proving we all are never too old to learn. God bless you and your camera man.
@@Monica_Mac She does to protect her natural nail bed/plate. She says that in almost every video she makes so she can just file off the recent product she has on and not damage her natural nails for a new video. It's pretty smart actually.
😍 *Love this kit!! I found that if I put on a sculpting form first, I don't have to worry about applying too much gel because it won't flood the back of my free edge with the form on. Also, for the ten second initial cure, I turned the light upside down on the table and was then able to hold the tip down by pinching the very tip, so that the whole nail bed was exposed to the light and would cure evenly. Beautiful set! Tfs!!*
She Who Knows All - what a terrific idea, to turn the lamp upside down so you can hold the nail while it’s curing. Thanks so much for sharing! I’ve been trying to think how I’d wrangle that tiny lamp. I was beginning to think I’d need a third hand! 😉
Please don't take this the wrong way but when you needed your glasses and put them on they gave me such loving and caring mom vibes. Reminded me of my sweet lovely mommy
May I ask, how long does it last on you? I can keep gel polish on for 6 days, hard gel for 2 weeks and acrylic for 3 weeks before it starts to lift off my nails. I wanted to try this system so bad.
I’m not a nail tech, it’s the extension of choice that my nail tech has and she does them on many of her clients. And the longest I’ve had gel-x on without significant lifting is 6 weeks. Acrylics and soft gel, I can get maybe 2 weeks
Hello Susie, love that you are helping us all be better nail tecks. The thing with the Apres kit is that it is important to remind your viewers to be careful with hurting the cuticle when applying the nail. If one isn't mindful they can damage the matrix of the nail if it is pushed on to hard or too far back into the cuticle. Just a note. Thanks
She's so easy to watch. I don't even really do my nails ( have literally never had them done) but very interesting to watch. Especially during quarantine.
This is just genius. I love it. Might get me a set, and do my nails myself. It's like having pressed on nails with a salon set feel. I love everything about it.
I have been waiting for years for you to demo this kit!!! This company has come a LOOOONNGGG way with their nail designs (shape and length). I got one of the very first kits and they only had short square and short round... they were flat, awkward and not so great. My nail bed ways almost as long as the extension nails. Doing my own was a challenge, but I got better over time. Also, the gel in the bottle used to be in a pot which was a nuisance and messy. I am so happy to see how they have listened to customers and made an attempt to keep up with the nail shape and length trends. I have seen many techs who offer this service to clients who want an alternative to acrylic and traditional gel. One thing I wish they would have expressed in the instructions (for the purpose of beginners) is to select and rough up the inside of the nails in advance. This eliminates the possibility of getting dust in the finished product. Overall I LOVE this product. This is a great service to offer that fairly quick once you get the hang of how it goes. I’m a tech who loves acrylic but be has I am a grad student, these are a wonderful alternative. THANK YOU SUZIE FOR DOING THIS VIDEO
Yes! The brand takes feedback really well! The size 0 is a bit too small for a lot of people's thumbs and when I reached out to the brand about it, they responded that they are in the process of making 00 tips and will definitely consider making 000 based off of the feedback they've been receiving.
SeabassFishbrains That is so awesome. I know this kit is pricy, but if a tech is charging her worth, it will more than pay for itself in about 5-6 sets. I hope to invest in the long stiletto and coffin nails really soon.
@@QubilahHarden Definitely!! The pro prices are even better too (if you go through the whole sign up) and the tip and extend gel refills are pretty affordable! The coffin sculptured long nails are my faves, I wear them all the time!
Suzie I am now using gel x full nail coverage and I agree with you that the cuticle part is to thick. I tried attaching the nail a little above the cuticle and then I used clear builder gel over the entire nail and put a very thin layer from the cuticle area to the tip and it as it grows out the cuticle area is even with my nail. Thought I would share this with you in case you haven’t tried it L❤V you Suzie . You’re my inspiration! Your follower Cindee from California.
I love this system!I prop my 48watt lamp on some glass bowls,so I can fit my hand & hold down the nail at the same time.I tried the little lamp for flash curing, but was having trouble keeping them on for a week. Now that I fully cure for the 30sec on my big lamp, they last 3 or more weeks.Thank you for your time Susie 💅👏👏
I just want to say that I enjoy your videos while at Chemotherapy. even if I am not able to do it myself it makes for a great distraction from treatment. thank you for you videos
For maximum adhesion you would want to scuff the nail tip to the length of your own nail. I just love this system! I always start with sizing the entire set. Then scuffing them all before I apply. Saves a ton of time. You can use a fine nail file or bit to go around the cuticle and remove any gel that may have oozed
Its funny to me you mentioned the cuticle area on these being a little messy. I was honestly impressed LOL. I have NEVER gotten a professional acrylic set done in my life that had a smooth cuticle are. i'm usually spending about 75$ they aren't cheap. i still have to go home and file them down to get rid of the huge ridge that is at the cuticle. I have stopped going to get my nails done altogether because its too expensive to spend money on something that looks so poorly done and have to go back over the work again once I get home. This looks like such a cool game changer thanks for the demo Suzie!
I've been using Apres ever since they first came out and they are a game changer!!! I would say it is a lot more difficult to put the extensions on yourself that on a client. I definitely prefer using a LED mini flashlight on myself cause i can hold it with my mouth and using my other hand to firmly hold down the extension on my cuticle to prevent the gel from squirting out onto the cuticles 🤣🤣🤣 the mini light works great when applying it to clients :)
I relate to literally everything you said 😂😂😂 no shame in the game honey! I struggle the most with making the stiletto nails straight on my wonky fingers. Sizing is a issue on a few fingers as well. I wish everything in the kit was half the price.
I took the magnetic bottom of my led lamp and put some books under each side to raise it, so that I’m able to hold my nail and flash cure it. Works like a charm!
I know this was from a year ago but from my experience with using these on myself, I always go in at an angle and press the tip down at the cuticle first and slowly add more pressure so the gel goes all the way to the free edge so that it minimizes bubbles and doesn’t squish out near the cuticle!
I know your comment is from 6 months ago, but I just found out about this system and found Susie had done a video on it! Can I ask you what type of polish you put on top of these? Do you use regular nail polish? Do you use gel nail polish (and then I guess you have to cure gel nail polish too right - on top of the fake nail?). Also, when they say “soak off”, does that mean in acetone? I’m sorry for all the questions, I was trying to find someone who had watched the video somewhat recently 😅. Thank you so very much regardless! 🥰
@@brennatarpley6010 hey! You’re fine for asking so many questions I do the same lmao🤣. But yeah you can use both gel and regular polish I think it’s a little easier to use gel just because you cure it and then you don’t have to worry about dry time lol. And yes the soak offs are done in acetone it basically melts the gel so that you don’t damage your nail by ripping or drilling the gel completely off. Hope this helped😊
She's mentioned before that she files her extensions off instead of soaking and she leaves a thin layer of product on the nail each time so that she doesn't file down to the actual natural nail. This way, the new growth area is the only part of the nail getting filed when she preps them. In order to do this though, you need a nail tech whose prep is absolutely perfect and catered to your nail type/physiology so that you don't have any lifting to remove for each fill. Most of the clients who come to me to get fills on work that was done by other techs have around a quarter of the contact area of their extensions (right around the cuticle) lifted, so I have to remove the lifted parts in order to fill the set.
@@hailyweyer3225 I like ceramic carbide bits for removing acrylic and non-soak off gel, specifically this one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DPFUO34/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 And then I soak off the final thin layer so as to not hurt the nail. It's also worth noting that the quality of the drill itself matters, you need to be able to get the drill to a speed where it's effective but doesn't burn the client without the bit stalling out on you. I also recommend 80 grit hand files for removing or debulking acrylic. And for removing lifting specifically, I like to use my Enail Couture Pink Diamond Cuticle bit turned up to a higher speed than I would use on the natural nail so that I can very precisely carve out the lifted bits and blend down the remaining edge.
These babies are tough as nails (pun definitely intended lol) I Am really rough with my hands as I do Instacart shopping for groceries all day bagging and delivering groceries is pretty hard on the nails and I’ve never once had one of the Aprés nails break or pop off. I love these and I’ll never go to the mail salon again. Another plus is the sculpted ones give you such a beautiful c curve and if you file them down to a natural almond shape they literally look like they are growing out of your skin that way. So natural and gorgeous I love them. Totally worth the money. I also wouldn’t recommend getting a dupe either. You pay good money for these for a reason. The dupes aren’t gonna be as strong or as quality of a material as these are. Well worth every penny.
Apres nails is great, a huge improvement over any other system for the DIYer. You can also use their tips with a bead of acrylic, I've been doing this now for half a year or so, but I have to put out this warning - the natural nail will lift from your nail bed if you cure with their gel any more than the specified time! Be VERY careful about the timing. I went 15 seconds longer, took me months to grow out the damage, thought I had a acquired a fungus from how bad it was, and I'm not allergic to the product.
I’m not a professional in any way, and my first set of Aprés extensions stayed on for 5 weeks! I absolutely love this system. The removal process is also super easy and quick!!
Isabella G I usually do 10-15 minutes. What’s great is that you can also leave a little bit of product on the nails if you’re applying a new set of Gel-x. But being a nail biter, my nails were always weak and would bend no matter what I tried even after I stopped biting them, and I can say that after one set of these extensions they’re as hard as a rock! With proper removal there should be no damage!
Suzie, will you do a video on eco-friendly practices nail-technicians can apply? I'm curious about what the possibilities are. Just a suggestion - love your show.
Thank you SOOOOOOOO much!!! I’ve been doing my own nails since I was 16/17 in the 80’s. I started with acrylics but my skin would itch, burn, & peel... in my late 30’s I started getting gels professionally until the products were available cheaply to the public. At almost 50, gel is doing the same thing!!! No one has explained that it’s called contact dermatitis!!!! You’re videos are the best! Your voice is sooooo soothing and calming. After a rough day, you’re videos are like taking anti anxiety meds! PS.... just until the past few years, I’ve used a Dremel! Shhhhhhh! I don’t recommend!
You can minimize the amount of product that gets squeezed out at the cuticle area by not applying as much near the edge. During application just keep the product a smidge away from the edge of the tip.
I don’t even wear nails but I love and appreciate your style of teaching and positive energy. I take it with me when I train new employees for the company I work for.
Susie I just want to say I appreciate how you include nail techs and at home DIY-ers in your videos.I love having my nails done but can’t always get to a salon.
I love working with this product. Its great. Some great tips if you haven't heard yet. Less product on the tip, no worries about place it on there if theres bubbles since you'll push them out. You can also thin the cuticle area before on top lightly, when drilling the underside. And you can still drill the cuticle area at the end.
Your voice is so calming anytime im stressed or in a bad mental spot i gotta watch you for nails. Its just how you do your thing so professional and still relatable.
I absolutely love this system. I’ve been using them for almost a year. I’ve tested them for wear length and have gone 5 weeks before taking them off with no lifting or breaks. Well worth the money
jeez, i was never really into nail art before the quarantine, but i needed something to focus on. suzie is just my favorite person to watch now. great nail info, gorgeous lady, and soothing voice. super informative for me.
Just came across this awesome lady while watching Cristine from Simply Nailogical and I must say she is very talented and soooo calm. I really enjoyed watching a couple of videos of you today, Suzie. SUBSCRIBED!
Hi! I watched your video and I´m an educated nailtechnician. I bought the nailkit and it´s really easy and fast to do BUT if you, like me, have spoonformed nail you have to use a bit more gel in the middle. I was nearly going crazy before I figured it out. I did get a lot bubbles and that was bothering me. Don´t want a greenie :). So I tried using more gel and it worked. Really a great system, you can get your nails done very quickly. Regards from Sweden :)
You actually should not do that, e-files made for nails are specifically made to produce less vibration and prevent damaging the nail. I mean do what you want, but nail tech cringing over here ....
They grow out Same as acrylic but no lifting and much longer ! I had a client go 8 weeks !!! Before a new set ! I usually go 3 weeks before I get bored too !
For some reason I feel calm and relaxed when I watch suzies videos lol maybe it’s her starting music or the way she talks live your videos even if I can never get any product right..
I absolutely love this nail system, and I loved watching you use it!! Apres has so many other fun products! I love their airbrush system and their gel inks. Love you and love your videos!!! Muah!!!
I’ve watched a lot of people using this system and also a hack to it too .. very informative! I do know that little lamp is only supposed to be used as a quick flash cure for each nail then when done with all fingers ur suppose to use a normal 48 watt lamp to fully cure all nails at once . Also noticed in all vids that ur not suppose put a lot of the gel in tip to over flood it and then once put it down on nail at angle to not lift the nail back up cause that’s what causes flooding of gel on cuticles and bubbles in the gel on nail . 😊 Just some info thought would let u know from all vids I have seen doing this repeatedly and getting use to it 🥰 Hope helps 💋
Hi, I was wondering if you could do a video where you show how to clean your hand files and other nail tools, for the people doing their nails at home?
You should not be cleaning and reusing files, unfortunately files really are one use items even if your re-using them on yourself. They can harbor bacteria and you will spread it from nail to nail. This is what happens when you get a greenish-brown-black spot under the enhancement, it's a bacterial infection. Just buy a cheap pack of 100/180 files and use a new one each time. For stainless steel tools, you can buy barbicide and mix it according to the directions, water first and then add the disinfectant to the water. Scrub debre from the tools and soak. Tools must soak for ten minutes, then rinse and dry. That is the proper way to do it if you really want to do it right.
@@vcamie8755 I saw an stainless steel file, with "stickers" that were the actual file. I thought that might be better, because you only have to take off the sticker, desinfect normally the steel, and then put on a new one! Less material to throw out, a little bit more friendly to the environment
You know you are amazing right!!! Ive watched a great many of your videos and it always comes across that you are a patient teacher. Thank you so much for your time
I had a set of these put on. The girl had no excess squirt out. I think that comes with practice. They held up very well! When they started growing out I just filled with gelish system twice before soaking off.
My best advice is to get a gooseneck led light. Shape the nails by filing to make them match your natural nail. I also keep all the soft gel at the cuticle of the apres nail, hold it tight to your cuticle (so it doesn’t seep out onto your cuticle) and bring it down so the soft gel goes to just the very edge of your free edge. The soft gel is supposed to fill in the gap to create the apex. You don’t want to smoosh it down into your nail.
hi suzie I have only been watching your video's for the past 7 days, but absolutely love the way you do nails, I have learned so much and im no nail tech, after watching you im inspired to do my own nails.I love your personality and your theme music. god bless
YEY IM EARLY HI SUZIE!😍❤️you've taught me soo much hopefully I get to your salon one day. 3 years and counting doing my own nails. Haven't learn professionally like you but I guess that's my dream. Have a good day!
this was Fun to watch. I have never been to a salon and don’t plan to lol. I buy press on nails in *Full-cover & it helps my nails grow out while protecting the natural nail. Usually I will use a nail Stand to design & paint the press ons & put them under the lamp to cure. Lastly apply the press ons once everything dries☺️. Lasts a long time & never messy
That looks so quick and easy, and would totally cut down on service time! I'm curious as to how strong they are (thick). I'm really hard on my hands so I make my nails thicker, especially at the arch. Please do a follow up on how they wear, grow out, etc. 😊

The dupes aren’t gonna be as strong or as quality of a material as these are. Well worth every penny.
Always a great video! I use the Apres but I adhere them with Young nails Fiber gel and they stay on for 3 weeks and I rebalance them and get an additional 2 weeks! The set last a long time and quicker then sculpting!
Jeanette O flaherty, no, it’s waaaaaaaaay less work than acrylics or gels. And forget that small lamp. I don’t use it. I can put a set on in less than 15 min, and that’s on myself. The small lamp is to flash cure it, but I use my regular lamp for that. There’s a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it’s amazingly fast. Also, I don’t bother etching the underneath of the tip anymore as they stay on just fine without it.
The full coverage nails are made of gel, so you’re getting a sculpted gel set without having to sculpt and shape. But because they’re made of gel u can fill them in once they grow out and file and reshape
They came out nice Suzie. That is a very easier way to do a full set. Especially for someone like me that is a beginner and has a hard time sculpting nails with nail forms lol. Tfs 😊.
Hi Suzie! If you don't have a round tip or an electric nail file, use a straw! Tear off the end, just one layer, of a cardboard nail file. Apply double-sided tape or a drop of glue to the paper side, and wrap it around the end of a straw. Voila! You have a round nail file! Enjoy! 💖A
The neon chrome nails you did also work well with a few coats of gel polish to reveal more colours along the drill line. It’s super cool with chrome polishes.
When you do product reviews like this, what do you do with the rest of it? Do you keep using the product until it's out? Throw it away? Donate it? Give it to the techs in your shop? Recycle some parts into your rotation? Thank you for all of the lessons, advice, and entertainment! I've been a fan since the early days! My mom let me paint her nails when I was just learning how to hold things in my hands 😂 she often went to work with her entire finger painted too 😂😂😂 nails are one of the only things I've consistently found joy in throughout my life. If I'm having a bad anxiety attack, my boyfriend will put one of your longer videos on and cuddle me until I can go out and face the world again. I know that might sound weird but you've impacted my life a lot and I'm honestly so grateful. I hope for all the best for you, your family, friends, pets, etc 💞
Thank you for the review and demo! One thing I would do is to not only choose the tip size first, I would prep the tip before prepping and dehydrating the natural nail so to avoid the chance of getting dust on the wet or tacky product. I was thinking of trying the Apres system, but may try the Xtens system which the 'tip' is actually made of gel and you can just fill naturally without having to soak off each set.(also the Xtens tips come pre-buffed, and come in clear, french and baby boomer! )
Omg Susie. You are brilliant. I was looking up contact dermatitis when you mentioned it and that’s the reason why every time I get acrylic done, I get an allergic reaction and I was never allergic before. It started happening 2 years after I started doing them. That’s a very interesting concept.
Hi Suzie, First off have to say I love watching your channel! I have learned a lot from you. I will be moving to B.C. next spring and hope to drop by your salon, and take a work shop with you. As for the Apres DIY kit, I love it. I have done a few sets on myself now and will continue to use this product. I used to be a nail tech back in the 80s and 90s, but have not sculpted since then. I'm more into gel now and just diy. Using the Apres products, its easier to have all tips sized and roughed up and ready to go before I prep my nails. I do one hand at a time. When putting the extend gel on the tip I do not cover the length of my nail. What I do is apply enough at the cuticle area for my nail, then I apply the top at cuticle and roll it down my nai eliminating any bubbles. This way I do not have gel squishing out the sides. The only place excess gel goes is at nail top area which is easy to brush off and no gel touching the skin. I will say I do not use the little lamp that comes with the kit. It's hard to use when doing them on yourself. I use my big led lamp. This way I can hold my finger in front of the lamp for a few seconds and then let go and nuke (cure) the rest of the time, no muss no fuss. Thanks for letting me go on about Apres but I love love love this product and will forever use.
gel extensions and acrylics usually break on me/lifts in about 2 weeks while these apres nails lasted me 6 and probably more had i not gotten them redone! i say 6 weeks with absolutely no breaks or cracks on them whatsoever(: they make nail sessions so much shorter as well and i am super sold on them! hope this helps for whoever is skeptical about its strength and durability :) theyre also really light and natural, not thick like some acrylics or gel extensions could be

Thank you I’ve been wondering about this system for a very LONG time! I just haven’t seen someone else actually try it from start to finish so this was perfect!! Thanks for including everything in the video too. Nothing got cut out you showed us everything that we would do too at home or in the salon. 👌

Use the mini lamp for the flash cure. Then use your LED lamps for the final cure.
Cuts down the time dramatically 😁😁

It's amazing!!! Isnt it !
after applying the tips and perfecting the cuticle, do you buff the surface of the tip, apply polish, cure, then brush the extend gel wherever you want crystals etc then cure, then gel topcoat?
Is it just like press on nail they sell at target?
SeabassFishbrains Can I ask you what you soak them off with? Suzie didn’t say.
I love this ! I felt the same way too when I switched and switched my clients over!!
Did you guys experience lifting?? How did you get a fill?
How do you remove them?
Christina H. No fill. You have to get a new set each time.
missmia196 Cut down the tips then drill the nail until you’re left with a then layer.
My dad don't even call me, you got a good one
Gigi Clawz thats so sweet of him 😭❤️
My husband says hed buy me a mini dremel and put a flex shaft on it so that i will have a powerful nail drill 😂
My dad did the exact same thing.🤣🤣
I'm not a nail tech whatsoever and I can do my own Apres nails! *I absolutely love them!* my nails last up to 1 month with no lifting
Same, not a tech either and I got them when they first came out to learn, while it’s harder to do them on yourself than someone else it still was really easy to learn.
How do you fill?
@@MsNaps-ri1sc you don't. You soak off the nails and apply new ones.
LifeWithLowee Thanks. I was reading their website. It almost sounds like you can backfill with the Extend gel but I’m not sure how durable that would be since the arch would be further down.
@@MsNaps-ri1sc oh really? Well that's good to know. But you're right about the arch...

Have u given this a try ? It's the best
Same! Never again
I feel like they’re never fully clean or sanitary in nail salons either! So gross 🤢
Amanda Buccilli do you know how long these nails usually last?
@@lauren5952 we dont suggest em for longer than 2-3 weeks. 3 is pushing it. Soft gel isnt as string as acrylic so 2 weeks is best.
She has the best looking natural nails I’ve ever seen 😂
It looks like she has a layer of acrylic
@@Monica_Mac She does to protect her natural nail bed/plate. She says that in almost every video she makes so she can just file off the recent product she has on and not damage her natural nails for a new video. It's pretty smart actually.
@@marielanders1218 Thanks. I didn't know she did that
😍 *Love this kit!!
Great tips I’ll try using forms and upside down lamp Thanks !!!
I have such a hard time when i put mines on i always have nails popping off 🥲
Please don't take this the wrong way but when you needed your glasses and put them on they gave me such loving and caring mom vibes. Reminded me of my sweet lovely mommy
I’ve been getting gel-x nails for over a year now and they’ve been so amazing! They last longer than anything else on me.
Do u use it only on yourself or clients too? x
Dani Olive do you get fills with this product?
Stacy Orick nope you soak them off and apply a fresh set each time. You can do a fill, but it takes longer than just applying a new set.
Thanks
Aye, Suzie.. your voice is literally the most calming thing on this planet.
She's so easy to watch. I don't even really do my nails ( have literally never had them done) but very interesting to watch. Especially during quarantine.
❤❤❤ Susie, I’m 5 minutes in a 4yo video and already learning something. Thank you ❤
there is no way anyone could hate this woman. suzie is too pure. we can’t let anything happen to her. she is the only good left in this world.
Melodramatic much 🙄
My mom is a nail tech and uses this system! I’ve taught myself how to do these nails and they are amazing.
I can't wait to try this out myself now! 🥰🖤
Thought I would share this with you in case you haven’t tried it
L❤V you Suzie . You’re my inspiration! Your follower Cindee from California.
I love this system!I prop my 48watt lamp on some glass bowls,so I can fit my hand & hold down the nail at the same time.I tried the little lamp for flash curing, but was having trouble keeping them on for a week. Now that I fully cure for the 30sec on my big lamp, they last 3 or more weeks.Thank you for your time Susie 💅👏👏
good tip!!! i'm gunna do this I hate the little lamp it's so hard when you're doing it alone!
Good advice
I saw some nail clips I thought were for this type of thing to hold gentle pressure. Anyone ever try them?
I just want to say that I enjoy your videos while at Chemotherapy. even if I am not able to do it myself it makes for a great distraction from treatment. thank you for you videos
God bless you! *Hugs* i hope your treatments go well.
Love using the mini flashlights too!!!!
I relate to literally everything you said 😂😂😂 no shame in the game honey!
I struggle the most with making the stiletto nails straight on my wonky fingers. Sizing is a issue on a few fingers as well. I wish everything in the kit was half the price.
Where do you get your LED flashlight from?
I took the magnetic bottom of my led lamp and put some books under each side to raise it, so that I’m able to hold my nail and flash cure it. Works like a charm!
Timothy Zhen Wei Ho Holding it in your mouth! omg that’s so smart 😂
Suzie, how do you keep your natural nails in such good shape after years of acrylics?
Taylormarie12321 proper removal and prep 🥰
Taylormarie12321 and of course cuticle oil and hand lotion!!
SeabassFishbrains I never seem to be able to file off acrylic or gel completely. What kind of file or bit would you recommend?
@@hailyweyer3225 I like ceramic carbide bits for removing acrylic and non-soak off gel, specifically this one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DPFUO34/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
And then I soak off the final thin layer so as to not hurt the nail.
I wish i could get my nails done with Suzie, she does them so good, worries about the little things, and seems like a good conversationalist.
Thank you for much for the Gel Nail Video I'm just learning and it was such a big help. The more I do'em the better I'll get.
K N WHASAAT
I’m not a professional in any way, and my first set of Aprés extensions stayed on for 5 weeks! I absolutely love this system. The removal process is also super easy and quick!!
How long do you soak them off for? Is there any damage to the nail after soaking?
Isabella G I usually do 10-15 minutes. What’s great is that you can also leave a little bit of product on the nails if you’re applying a new set of Gel-x. But being a nail biter, my nails were always weak and would bend no matter what I tried even after I stopped biting them, and I can say that after one set of these extensions they’re as hard as a rock! With proper removal there should be no damage!
Suzie, will you do a video on eco-friendly practices nail-technicians can apply? I'm curious about what the possibilities are. Just a suggestion - love your show.
Khatijah Rahmat That’s an amazing idea!!
Yesssss, please
I really like that even though you have been doing this for a long time and have experience, you still follow the instructions.

I admit as a car girl and a nail girl I use my dremel on my nails lol I simply use different bits and Sanders for my nails and a much lower speed
Me too!
That's essentially what a nail file is anyways
You actually should not do that, e-files made for nails are specifically made to produce less vibration and prevent damaging the nail. I mean do what you want, but nail tech cringing over here ....
thank you so much Suzie for taking time to do all those super videos. I am still a beginner, but getting better cause of you !!

Just some info thought would let u know from all vids I have seen doing this repeatedly and getting use to it 🥰
Hope helps

How long did they last?
My best advice is to get a gooseneck led light. Shape the nails by filing to make them match your natural nail. I also keep all the soft gel at the cuticle of the apres nail, hold it tight to your cuticle (so it doesn’t seep out onto your cuticle) and bring it down so the soft gel goes to just the very edge of your free edge. The soft gel is supposed to fill in the gap to create the apex. You don’t want to smoosh it down into your nail.
Love that ur on top of the latest trends!! I've been thinking about trying this
You won't regret it.
Thank you so much. You are so pleasant and smart to learn from and funny! Thank you for your time!

This is so helpful. I can't wait to get my nail tech license !
this was Fun to watch.

Id add a layer of builder gel on top
Always a great video! I use the Apres but I adhere them with Young nails Fiber gel and they stay on for 3 weeks and I rebalance them and get an additional 2 weeks! The set last a long time and quicker then sculpting!
So basically it's press on nails that uses gel for adhesive, instead of nail glue.
Shelly Smith-Mitchell nope. The tips are soft gel. For press in it’s plastic
I use them as I’m a nail tech. They are a god send when you have clients that want a quick design set! In and out in 30 mins max!
And alot more work also. I'll stick to my large lamp and regular gels and acrylics. Just my preference
Enjoy! 💖A
Love the little lamp!!!so cute!!! I always enjoy watching your programs! 🤗💞💅🏼🇿🇦
I feel like you're my mom lol
The neon chrome nails you did also work well with a few coats of gel polish to reveal more colours along the drill line. It’s super cool with chrome polishes.
I've definitely used a dremel on my acrylic nails 😊 but I did use a med grit sander band like suzie suggested and I used it low lol
I came across this brand a couple of weeks ago. And I was like I really hope Susie does a review on this! My prayers have been answered lol
Ja'lyn Na'kole me too!!!
Thank you for the review and demo! One thing I would do is to not only choose the tip size first, I would prep the tip before prepping and dehydrating the natural nail so to avoid the chance of getting dust on the wet or tacky product. I was thinking of trying the Apres system, but may try the Xtens system which the 'tip' is actually made of gel and you can just fill naturally without having to soak off each set.(also the Xtens tips come pre-buffed, and come in clear, french and baby boomer! )
My nail guy uses this omg 😂 ima start doing it on my own now these last really long btw I love them
Omg I watched one of your videos four years ago and then I could never find you again until now. Thanks to Cristine 🤩
i just noticed that me and suzie are wearing the same swarovski crystal ring and i screeched XD
wow i love this video! thorough explanation (especially for beginners like me), showing various angles and high quality! love love
This is how I do my nails but Ive been using polygel w/ top & base coat all by Gershion. Good for me for 1 1/2-2 wks! :)
Kathy McDowell then it’s dual forms that you’re using not a full cover nail.
No ma'am, I use the polygel as the adhesive with the full coverage tips
@@KathyMcDowell1 I have the Gershion kit and I'm gonna try this! Thanks 🙏 (top coat over the full cover tips right!)
Omg Susie. You are brilliant. I was looking up contact dermatitis when you mentioned it and that’s the reason why every time I get acrylic done, I get an allergic reaction and I was never allergic before. It started happening 2 years after I started doing them. That’s a very interesting concept.
I always have issues as a DIYer getting the thickness right on polygels...this looks like it takes care of that issue! Do they make samples??♡
When is Grant coming in for his refill? You guys are hilarious when you get together 😂
gel extensions and acrylics usually break on me/lifts in about 2 weeks while these apres nails lasted me 6 and probably more had i not gotten them redone! i say 6 weeks with absolutely no breaks or cracks on them whatsoever(: they make nail sessions so much shorter as well and i am super sold on them! hope this helps for whoever is skeptical about its strength and durability :) theyre also really light and natural, not thick like some acrylics or gel extensions could be
I NEED this cute box in my life! "Dear Santa, I've been a very good girl... oh, who am I trying to kid. Santa, I'll be honest, I've been an absolute shenanigiser, a creator of chaos and a rapscallion. But please can I have this for Christmas? Love, Shelly. Aged 47 and three quarters. XxX"
😂😂😂👏👏👏
I've been doing these (and an occasional dupe such as 1,2,3 Go) with complete success! I get 3-4 weeks before soaking off & reapply another set.
I always had a hard time with these, always peeled off. I figured it was me and faulty prep work but I tried polygel after that and never had lifting.
lillian girvin, wow, really? I’ve never had any problem with them.
Thank you I’ve been wondering about this system for a very LONG time! I just haven’t seen someone else actually try it from start to finish so this was perfect!! Thanks for including everything in the video too. Nothing got cut out you showed us everything that we would do too at home or in the salon. 👌
please do an update video on how well these last!! I'm curious as to how long they stay adhered to your nail
There's so many brilliant dupes of this. I love your videos, your nails always look amazingly beautiful. 💅 Blessings from Scotland. 🙏🏴🌹
