A very wise counsellor said to me once that until the future looks worse than the present, you won't change anything. The fear of staying the same has to become stronger than the fear of changing. This woman got to the point and, boom, it changed. Good for her. God help her to keep things this way now and to constantly ask for help in this change.
All the therapy in the world will not help someone who does not want to change. I am not saying this is the case here but also sadly when resources and funding are stretched so thin people with less sever mental heallth issue (like this lady) just like her flat get left in a mess. I hope whoever filmed this series are paying for her and the ot hers they featured to get support after.
I think you have to have a Mental Mindset to do this type of work. I would have been horrified if I had seen some of these houses in real life. I live with My Mother after My Father died but I make sure that our house is clean as a Whistle. People come over and are impressed at how clean we keep the house.
In the Black Community, folks keep things because it was passed from one generation to another. I remember reading a Book called Mama where The Main Protagonist Mildred Peacock found out that her Stepmother had alot of stuff in her Attic. Items like food cans, blankets and the like were hidden away. She was a victim of the depression where life for Blacks was just as hard in the 1930's. These UK Folks are just as heartbreaking as their US Counterparts.
They worked wonders. I do see at 9:19 or so what seems like a hoarded room. Hopefully she can clear that out herself. I'd love to see her get some paint to freshen up some of her furniture and maybe use some money to repair or replace broken furniture and cabinet doors. She deserves this beautiful home. She is so honest and clear minded about her situation.
I think she was ready to get her home 🏡 cleaned and be able to spend time with her family. At least her family visits her. I keep a nice clean home and never see mine! 😠
So while they are busy cleaning her house at the point of eviction, she's out scavenging from the trash. Give it 6 months max & the house will be full of garbage again. Save me the comms that she's got trauma as an excuse, she's an adult & hoarder for life. People gotta learn to cope with bad times 'cos life is not a smooth ride full of sunshine & rainbow unicorn farts.
The scavenging was for narrative purposes, showing the viewers what her routine had been. Somehow I don't think you are much in touch with others or even your own feelings.
Caz and Tee the best of humanity not judging not angry just clear and supportive
They are the sweetest

Another lovely lady to rescue, god bless ❤❤
What about the hole in the ceiling?
Wow--She's a wise lady. It does take Guts and Humility, as she said.
I understand keeping things but the filth I do not understand
The rubbish everywhere gets me.
I saw one in America where the upstairs floor collapsed . The house deteriorates when it is like that.
They should provide her with the house-keeping services and counseling she needs. What a shame she is left to fend for herself.
Exactly that is essential! Therapist on hand... How did it get to this point?

Caz and Tee seem like powerful people; I wish I could meet them.

Caz and Tee are angels 👼
Bless her. So proud.
The extra crew are so sweet. Yet I would provide masks for them
Lady by me got lots money n has no cleaning lady jus hoards 70/80 s. Need help
What was the white powder? Did they say?
Did she actually say thank you to the girls who cleaned up her house as I didn't hear her say that?
She was practically in tears. She was amazed by the changes. She hugged them both. She thanked them in her own way over and over again.
We only see a small percentage of the footage.
People wont ask for help its 😮😢sad
it doesn't look that bad to me
Wow

Rerun.
They all are, and most of them are several years old, some going back to around 2012.
Shame on you

You have no mental or emotional logic, according to your comment.
