    Thanks Travis, enjoyed the video and thought you gave some good tips, any thief will usually take the most convenient target. I can't believe some people are so incredibly sensitive that they just couldn't take your voice breaking. I barely noticed it. Princesses and the peas? Guys, some people's voices just naturally sound like that, it doesn't make them unfit for society.

    It always amazes me how some people need to leave negative wise ass comments to make themselves feel better about their own pathetic lives.

    I believe the thing for some people was to break the key off in the lock so that they cannot lose the key and accidentally lock the forks. Essentially, they know they will never need/want to lock the forks so they'll just break the key off in side there so they don't have to keep track of the key, nor worry about locking the forks and not being able to unlock it.

    Those half round keys are good. Very hard to pick. I promise you this, it works better if it's installed than in that bag😀

    Thanks for the video! Also the other videos you have are great to watch as well.
    As far as a big chain lock, I got a big link length of chain from Home Depot and slid it in to an old mountain bike inner tube so that the chain won't scratch the paint.
    These are great tips you are giving. Some people may think this is paranoid thinking but around where I go mopeds get stolen. I'm in the process of picking up a spare engine from a guy that brought the engine in to his apartment to work on then someone stole the rest of the moped!

    Thanks for the tip. You might consider a u lock instead of the fork lock to go along with your chain.

    this is a really helpful video, thank u so much for doing it! it can be frustrating doing research for moped security, especially for a newbie who doesnt know what type of locks are worth buying for a vintage moped, and when results for scooters and motorcycles keep coming up.

    You can pull the broken key out with a barbed removal tool. Keys are generally softer metal, and a special removal tool is designed to get it out.. You can likely get a few tiny flat heads or a paper clip and use them to work the key out.

    I have Tomos automatic A3 and I avoid theft with a few things: GPS tracker (battery lasts about 3 days, then I recharge it at home), classic bicycle chain with lock and one more thing - I have one "fake" spark plug witch I broke an electrode, so when I park somewhere I take out the good one and turn in the fake one. It takes a few seconds and I take tool with me, of course.

    Lojack is good. They range from $30 to $500. Its a GPS tracking system that you hide on your bike. It will lead the cops where your bike is. I go in the $200 and you can save on your insurance. If your over 25 go with PLPD thru Gieco which is $99 a year and full coverage on my crotch rocket was $127 a year

    Lock the back wheel, it is harder to take the back wheel off than it is the front. Always lock the bike to something as well. Locking gas cap won't prevent gas theft because they can still drain it from the hose/petcock. Good video overall though. Most important thing is to lock your shit up!

    Here’s how to remove your steeringwheel lock: push it in with a cross screwdriver and a hamer. Push it back out via the inside of the cilinder (put your flat screwdriver against it and use it as lever, it should pop out). Now you can pull it out and put a new one in.
    th-cam.com/video/ns2JqtjO_gA/w-d-xo.html you don’t have to take it appart

    I had a Yamaha Qt50, and that got stolen. You said that you run your chain lock through the front tire and through the frame. Can't someone just take off the front tire and loop the chain over the handle bars?

    • @TravisTutorial
      @TravisTutorial  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      GUDDA HO Take off your speedometer and pretend really, really, hard.
      In all seriousness though, to cruise 50 or to top out at 50? To cruise 50 you'd probably want one of those kits where you have to weld on additional material to the case then bore out like a Gila, a nice roller bearing crank like a Rito, a big multi-circuit carb like a Dellorto PHBG, one of the huge expansion chamber exhausts, a heavy duty clutch that could keep up like a Hammer or KTM scooter clutch, and probably a retarding ignition like an HPI or maybe one of the cheaper CDIs if you are a wizard, gearing to give you more top end, and the patience/skill to time and tune it all just right.

    • @lordalexjohn
      @lordalexjohn 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      TravisTutorial wtf

    • @TravisTutorial
      @TravisTutorial  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      GUDDA HO
      What answer were you looking for? If you want to do 50 without putting in any hard work you should go buy a motorcycle. With mopeds it's generally: Fast, Cheap, Easy - pick two. A pipe and filter and a jetted carb will get you 30s, milder kits 40s, but around the range you ask about you'll need to get really stoked about two strokes.
