SBGA493 is a bark pattern according to plus9time. It’s on only 2 other limited editions as far as I know (a gold Thai and a green Shanghai limited editions of 100 and 30 copies only). A little reminiscent of the Iwate pattern by the high beat studio except it has deep texture (a radial bark). It is red wine red (got on two eels ago). Thanks for the shade compare.
Manual wind wears best followed by GMT and Katana actually looks too big Great vid… also highlights why we need better sized and proportional watches… too big just look plain ugly on wrist
im with you on that, id grab the gmt in a second if it had the kitana dial. not sure im sold on the floorboard look of the J273 and not sure on availability of the A493 now that i want a red dial lol
Gmt is my favorite. Why after so many years GS still insist on selling$6000 watches with no on the fly adjustment. Tudor is a better watch company and also e listening to their customers.
Haven't seen that one come through inventory yet but do have another red dial video that will get uploaded in the next week or two, Omega DeVille vs. SBGW287.
Hands down the SBGW287 but it would instantaneously go on a different strap. Maybe a red suede one but definitely not this glossy one. It doesn’t do the watch any favors if you ask me
@@joshuakaplan5726 I suppose if you wear this with a suit it would work but with a sweater and jeans I feel that it’s too dressy. I’d try to make it more casual while still respecting the original look of the watch with something more subtle. Even a smooth leather strap like you find on the burgundy Reverso tribute would have my preference.
@@var_log_messages I'll wear this bad larry with Chino shorts and shorts sleeve button down in the summer and with pants and a sweater on the fall. I enjoy the contrasting vibe of the leather strap with whatever clothes I'm wearing. Same thing with my tank. I find it fun to wear dressy peices with casual clothes just as much as more formal clothes.
@@joshuakaplan5726 haha, to each their own I suppose :) I’m quite tempted to dress down my Reverso even further with the burgundy canvas strap JLC has now. I already have a grey suede strap which gives a great contrast to the red dial. I bet the SBGW287 would also look grey on a grey strap ;)
@@var_log_messages oh I bet it would! I'm just a stickler for OEM straps and bracelets. All my watches are on its original strap/bracelet. I never got into the strap game.

SBGA493 is the Mt. Iwate pattern found in white, black, and blue. It looks great in red.
All gorgeous but I'm all in on the SBGW287 since I own it! Gorgeous manual wind with less hype than the other red dials

When GS made the Limited Edition Autumn, they should have used the same version design in the GMT.
